I still have Lauda on my trust list, as that account properly tagged a lot of people, and I don't agree with deleting history

History isn't being "deleted"; its just that its importance is under constant re-evaluation, which is fair and practical. Lauda took pride in copying tags left by others. I'd be surprised if half their tags were originals or firsts. With accounts that left tons of feedback, for me it comes down to whether the weight of the helpful tags is heftier than the weight of the unhelpful tags (for me the latter is heavier).

Lauda also relished swinging their power around -- taking glee in knowing they could fuck up anyone who didn't agree with their opinions. This led to a lot of petty disputes & "improper" tags. IMO they are the antithesis of what the trust system is supposed to be about -- a frozen vestige from the old, pre-democratic system, and a reminder of how not to conduct oneself on the forum.

Hitler would tell you that erasing Jews and his attempt to wipe them from history was fair.   Putin has made Crimea a practical addition to his empire.   Should future generations be denied what really happened?

So isn't that a reason not to remove ratings on old members?  I've marked Lauda as dangerous to trade with, and that will not change over any period of time.

Lauda isn't removing any ratings, the only thing that toggles is the cat's DT-status.
