This is probably the worst effect ng COVID-19 para sa ating mga Congressmen - Pegasus, Air Force One, Other KTV and Men’s Clubs Reportedly Shutting Down  Grin

I read in a comment that one of the establishments has been taken by POGO operators.

~snip~
Has anybody here, especially in places with GCQ, managed to get a travel pass? If so, what did you have to do to get it?

This is the info that i have to acquire a travel pass. You need to have a mayor's certification then health certificate that you are COVID free. You need travel pass if you want to go to another region and better to check also that the region you are going to are already accepting travelers.

You are in Cebu, right? The governor of Cebu said she will lift all the border checkpoints on June 12 and by that time also passenger ships will start their operation. I just read it on the online local newspaper and don't have a link to it.

Iba iba din kasi po processea nila, everytime na magaupdate ng status about covid, nagbabago process ng bawat barangay or municipality.

First, you are termed as Locally staranded individual.
medical certificate will be issued by the barangay na pinagsstayan mo, either checheck-upin ka lang or pagqquarantine ka for 14 days then after the quarantime period, bibigyan ka ng medical certificate.

Medical certicate will be brought naman to barangay hall para mabigyan ka ng travel pass.
If wala pa byahe ang by land ka naman uuwi and may balak ka magrent ng sasakyan, you should include sa ipapagawa mong travel pass name, plate no., and type ng sasakyan ng driver mo.

balita kagabi na ibabalik daw sa ECQ ang cebu at talisay dahil sa pagdami ulit ng cases kada araw sa area nila. eto na nga ba sinasabi ko eh. people let their guard down after the government lifting the strictness of the quarantine from ECQ to GCQ/MGCQ etc.. dito mo malalman na kung gaano tlga ka walang disiplina ang ibang pilipino.

“We will give attention to Cebu City and Talisay because of the spike (in the number of infections). We are thinking of deploying additional police personnel in Cebu to ensure that the ECQ would be enforced,”

another article regarding Cebu being placed again in ECQ
Code:
https://www.philstar.com/headlines/2020/06/16/2021362/cebu-city-under-strictest-quarantine-due-widespread-covid-19-transmission

on the other hand, I'm glad that there is a new treatment for COVID-19 which is cheap, affordable and widely available. I saw this post by philippine star on facebook that a researcher in England found evidence that a drug(dexamethasone, a steroid) can improve COVID-19 patients surviving the virus.

Researchers in England say they have the first evidence that a drug can improve COVID-19 survival: A cheap, widely available steroid called dexamethasone reduced deaths by up to one third in severely ill hospitalized patients.

Results were announced Tuesday and researchers said they would publish them soon. The study is a large, strict test that randomly assigned 2,104 patients to get the drug and compared them with 4,321 patients getting only usual care.

The drug was given either orally or through an IV. After 28 days, it had reduced deaths by 35% in patients who needed treatment with breathing machines and by 20% in those only needing supplemental oxygen. It did not appear to help less ill patients.

"This is an extremely welcome result,” one study leader, Peter Horby of the University of Oxford, said in a statement. “The survival benefit is clear and large in those patients who are sick enough to require oxygen treatment, so dexamethasone should now become standard of care in these patients. Dexamethasone is inexpensive, on the shelf, and can be used immediately to save lives worldwide.”

Even though the drug only helps in severe cases, “countless lives will be saved globally,” said Nick Cammack of Wellcome, a British charity that supports science research.

“Dexamethasone must now be rolled out and accessed by thousands of critically ill patients around the world,” said Cammack, who had no role in the study. “It is highly affordable, easy to make, can be scaled up quickly and only needs a small dosage.” | via AP

Snip
This is the problem that the Philippines encountering right now. If the cases won't stabilize and it still grows, we will force to bring back the lockdown again. The entire Filipino citizens are in trouble specially those who have no more income and depends only in daily wages.

I don't know what is the problem of the Government, first they implemented the Balik Probinsya Program which I think a bad move because the virus may scatter all over the Philippines. In my province, we were back in GCQ because there is a covid positive entered in our Municipality. That is all because of their unplanned Balik Probinsya Program.

And right now, they are pursuing to have a class 2020-2021 without any further preparations between school, teachers, parents and students. Yes, it is good to continue the classes but they should have the so called "equity". But there are many students that can't afford to class because their parents have no work. See this news wherein a student hanged herself because she can't study online: news

But at the end of this, we should still follow every laws, protocols that our government implemented. Wishing also for COVID-19 to end because we are really devastated by this pandemic.

Anyway, I can't believe that Nutildah is a Filipino citizen. Hehe. You are really a good poster and contributor of the forum.

This is awful news. They are just going to have more economic devastation. A lot of people are out of work and already walang pera -- its gonna get pretty bad over there. Making this reverse when people had already planned on opening back up for good is a real kick to the nuts of business owners. Here in LLC we are under GCQ but I am now pretty much stuck here as there are no reasonably-priced inter-island flights until July. I can go to Olongo island but that is about it.

Talking about economic devastation, I don't understand why the Mayor in my city eagerly wants to have the ecq or mecq back again in the city. I mean, there were few balik bayan peps who arrived since the border opened, because this is one of the project of the LGU's to bring those people back home who was locally stranded in different areas of the country, at merong spike of numbers ng nag positive this past few days, actually the total number of positive cases in my region reached 33 from 11 before the border opened. These is like the LGU's fault for not securing these balik probinsya peps in a quarantine facility for another 14 days para mas sigurado. Actually we're under GCQ since June 1, and back again at MECQ today, until the 3rd of July.
The number of positive cases in my city is very low compared to other cities, Infact there was no local transmission, all of these positive cases has travel histories from places that records a lot of positive cases like Cebu and Manila.

I'm so disappointed, at gusto ko lng e share.
may makukuha bang National budget yung mga LGU's na under MECQ or ECQ? Hehehe.

knowing that the ECQ implemented on Cebu will only(and hoping) last for two weeks(June 16 - 30) and assuming that the LGU still has emergency funds left it is highly unlikely that they would get additional funds from the government. but if they are out of funds? they might. since they would probably have to provide food for the affected citizen when the ECQ is implemented.

That I think in my opinion is the good thing of having a centralized government (wag kayo magalala supported ako ng decentralization kaya nga tayo nasa bitcoin diba), I mean sa isang centralized government ay magkakaroon ng direct na paghihingan ng tulong ang mga local government na nahihirapan sa pagrespond sa isang crisis. I am not quite sure if ever na maging federal tayo eh ganun pa din ang sistema. But anyway, I am positive the government might still have the funds.

I am just concerned na marami nang naaksidente na bikers kasi sa kakulangan ng bike lanes sa bansa. I was actually watching the news at Abscbn dun sa mga stranded na tao sa pagsakay ng bus. The government should make localized economic centers within their cities para as much as possible trabaho kalang within the same city.

Photo not mine

I'm actually not a citizen, more just a Permanent Tourist. I'll have to leave the country and get my passport stamped before the end of the year. But thanks anyway. I do like the Philippines and while I'm not sure I'll ever become an official citizen, I plan on spending a lot of time here.
Oh I see! Glad to know that you travel in Philippines. Enjoy your visitation in my country. You know, It's more fun in Philippines 🇵🇭
You can apply for a Dual citizen if you will stay for 10 yrs.

From GMA news:

Dexamethasone hailed as first life-saving drug vs. COVID-19, reduces deaths by a third among severe cases

Not 100% related sa OP.

Rainy season na mga kabayan and, as we all know, the economy is still recovering after the 2-month lockdown.

Some update on COVID-19...

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1295783/duterte-orders-cimatu-to-oversee-covid-19-response-in-cebu-city

Some update on COVID-19...

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1295807/confidence-complacency-led-to-spike-in-covid-19-cases-in-cebu

https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1295783/duterte-orders-cimatu-to-oversee-covid-19-response-in-cebu-city
