The five year old Cash2VN remittance platform was relaunched last month after undergoing a major overhaul to provide a more seamless remittance experience to its client base. Cash2VN lets you send money to any Vietnamese bank account as well as from now on to cash office outlets in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Hoi An. While the sender is able to pay in Bitcoin, Tether and other major crypto currencies, the recipient doesn’t need to know anything about those. They simply see the VND appear in their bank account or be able to pick it up at the nearest Cash Office. Cash2VN recently also announced a general lifting of remittance sizes. Our relaunch had been well-received so far. If you are looking to get any quick payments done to Vietnam - feel free to check out the service, *NO ACCOUNT* sign-up needed. I was so surprised how utterly easy and pleasant it was to use Cash2VN! Sending money to my family in Vietnam has always been an expensive, complicated and intimidating affair and now I can do it with a few clicks of a button and using my absolute favorite tech - cryptocurrency! https://www.twitter.com/cash2vn/status/1339397954570866689

USDC is now enabled on cash2vn for remittances to Vietnam! “While up until about half a year ago USDT was completely dominating the USD-stablecoin market in South East Asia; we started to notice some uptick in traction and demand for USDC since a few months.
While in terms of volume still far behind USDT for the time being, USDC has at this point established itself as solid number 2 in the marketplace with demand and volume increasing steadily over the past couple of months.” https://news.bitcoinvn.io/cash2vn-enables-usdc-remittances-to-vietnam/?lang=en

We have recently published some usage stats of our service - more can be found here: https://twitter.com/cash2vn/status/1359530668275847169In summary: The majority of value gets currently transferred via Bitcoin - while especially smaller value transactions are moving over to "low fee" Blockchains (LTC, DASH, BCH). A similar trend in Stablecoin Usage, where the ERC20 formats (high fees on Ethereum) are having in a higher transfer value compared to USDT_SLP (which can transfer Tether for basically free).

More upgrades to the service. Cash2VN is now supporting exclusively Native SegWit address format for Bitcoin remittances. Other supported cryptocurrencies/stablecoins are: ETH, BCH, LTC, DASH & USDT (ERC20/SLP), USDC, DAI. Cash2VN enables anyone around the world to send funds to Vietnam (all local banks & various cash offices in major cities across the country available) without further account sign-up.
The sender simply specifies the VND amount and provides the necessary details of the recipient and the funds will be received within the same day.
Continuously rising transaction fees for Bitcoin on-chain transactions made it necessary to implement further optimization in order to keep it possible for the end user to utilize Bitcoin remittance payments. https://news.bitcoinvn.io/cash2vn-switches-to-native-segwit-format-for-bitcoin-remittances/?lang=en

Our Q1/2021 report is out! (...)
However, looking at the number of transactions it is visible that native cryptocurrencies still dominate the remittance market in Vietnam by far.
USDT (ERC20 & SLP combined) account for approximately only 12% of the total transfers initiated and comes in fifth behind Ethereum which amounted in the measured period a total of about 14% of transfers.
Despite the recent rise in popularity across the web and its relatively cheap transfer fees, Dogecoin accounted for only 0.34% of the total transfers.

Cash2VN is working together with Emily Dallara & HomeVN to provide relief afforts amidst the ongoing lockdown crisis in Vietnam. "While Vietnam and its residents had a comparatively smooth ride in 2020, since late spring of 2021 the country and its population has been ravaged by expanding lockdown measures. While most foreigners and expats who are in a position to leave the country have been doing so over the past two months and/or are working towards it, the vast majority of local residents do not have that choice and have to bear the full brunt of destruction unleashed by the lockdown measures. As elsewhere in the world, the lockdown has led to an increase in business bankruptcies, unemployment, destroyed livelihoods, disrupted supply chains and soaring food prices. --- How can our readers contribute to the efforts? Emily: Your readers can simply send crypto to https://cointr.ee/vncovid19relief. This is a product built by Naomi Brockwell, who wanted a decentralized Patreon type platform to receive donations / payments. Cointree makes it possible for users to anonymously donate crypto via the addresses linked on the platform. The funds are then transferred via Cash2VN to HomeVN’s bank account. Cointree doesn’t hold any funds." https://news.bitcoinvn.io/vietnam-lockdown-emily-dallara-efforts-amidst-economic-devastation/?lang=en

The Quarter 2-2021 report is out! Vietnamese crypto remittance platform Cash2VN released its updated quarter 2 usage statistics report.
While the majority of remittance volume is still conducted via the world’s largest USD-backed stablecoin Tether, one of the more notable developments remains that transfers via Litecoin are almost matching the transfer volume via Bitcoin.

Tether on Tron (TRC-20) is the third variant of the world’s predominant stablecoin to be supported on Cash2VN. “For small remittances the expensive transaction fees on the Ethereum chain price most users out right away.
While we have adopted USDT via the Simpleledger standard a while ago, the data clearly show that USDT on the Tron blockchain is currently the preferred means to transfer USDT on a retail level, so we followed the market demand by integrating it into our services.” --> https://news.bitcoinvn.io/cash2vn-enabling-remittances-to-vietnam-via-usdt-on-tron/?lang=en

Cash2VN adding USDT on Solana as remittance optionFollowing the previous addition of Tether on Ethereum (ERC20), Tron (TRC20) and Bitcoin Cash (Simpleledger), Vietnam’s premier Crypto Remittance service Cash2VN added the option to use USDT on Solana to send funds to any Vietnamese bank account.

Solana attained significant market share of the crypto market due to its candid approach to give up on network decentralization in exchange for higher scalability and cheaper transaction costs. [/color]

One of the more curious recent trends in regard to crypto remittances to Vietnam - USDC is increasingly gaining market share on Cash2VN. Interestingly enough however, $USDC transfers have been *overtaken* any other coin/token for remittances to #Vietnam through the #Cash2VN platform besides $BTC and "stablecoin king" Tether itself.
And it's closing the gap:
~ 21.8% #Tether ~ 14.75% #USDC
