[Request] Any chance we can get an "Off-topic" board in Croatian local boards?

Hi,

Since lately there's been alot of drama regarding Croatian local boards (well, local drama atleast), would it be possible for a global mod to create an off-topic section?
There's plenty of interest amongst people to talk about different stuff, and usually these topics can't be placed anywhere without offending someone.

I realize this would be a local mod task to do, but since we don't have a Croatian mod, and are probably unlikely to get one anytime soon, I'm asking if it would be possible to get it from someone who has the power to create it?

This is something that would make our board more organized, and it would have positive effects on the activity as well. More than once i wanted to open some topic, but it was kinda off-topic material so in the end i just gave up as I didn't want to start something that will possibly end up reported and deleted, or clutter our main section even more than it is now. Probably happened to others as well.

Making Off-topic section in our local  board wouldn't be precedent either, as from what I can see, at least few others have it as well -German, Indian, Italian, Dutch. Possibly few others have it too, but they call it differently. So obviously  we are not the only ones who felt the need for something like that.

Last but not the least, Croatian board  is among the most active ones (ranked 6th last month among local boards ), and with Indian the only active local board without the  mod,  so it wouldn't be be something that is introduced on a dead/semi active  board with few members. It doesn't look like we will get local mod any time soon, so this would be the next best thing, at least for now.

I also agree with this suggestion.
I was hoping that we will get local mod soon, someone who will better organize our local section but since we didn't receive any response from the admin I also support this request.
In fact, we have a lot discussions in our local area connected with corona virus, politics etc. so offtopic is really something needed.

Sorry to say this, but a global mod can't create a section, only admins can. And it's a non-priority task, because even when it's requested by a mod in the Staff section, it can take several months.

We did request the same before on our Local board (Pilipinas) . What our previous mod did was stickied it on the top section. But later on it was unstickied but still we keep the topic Off-topic Pilipinas.

Maybe for the meantime you can do the same mate, while waiting for a global mod to do the same, or if Crotian board lucky, theymos or cyrus will make one for you. I do hope this suggestiom will be worth for now.

I think it's better to just leave all posts in the local board, the topics that are too trifling can be trashed, or the OP's adviced to post them in the forums off-topic board, until an off-topic section is created.

There are ways on how to segregate topics, just edit the topic title, so it would be regarded as another topic. Creating post inside a thread can be edited the title. But I see your point, some messages got clogged while there is another topic below. But for the sake of having a thread, the one who will create must monitor and clean it up or note in the OP of the post some rules to avoid some confusion. Must be reputable member who will be handling the thread so every poster will mind if their action already breaking the rules of that off topic. Lots of ways to filter and think about but its up to the Croatian members to uniquely provide a way.

If not now, eventually our local will turn into something which happened few years ago (main board was full of altcoins topic, in this case, it will be full of off topic topics).

I heard that theymos found perfect moderator for croatian local board and he will allow us to change and update board as we like, and add off-topic section.

We have this topic named "novosti", it is some kind of topic for "new" things which could also be unrelated to crypto. Some of latest discussions are about earthquake which hit Croatia, one spam account, Bruno, corona virus and I don't know what else (I am talking about "off topic" here) and all these conversations end very fast because someone start new subject (although we could talk about subjects much more). Every single discussion could be placed in separate topic but that will mean more "off topic" topics in main board. It makes things unreadable, especially if we "group" and some users talk about one thing and other users talk about the other thing.

I'd love to see "Off-topic" board in Indonesia local board too.

And I'm getting bored to see there are only bitcoin/cryptocurrency related threads and discussions there. It's like everything is always discussed seriously.

Even we don't have this on our local board. Although there are also many off-topic discussions that are interesting to be discussed here in our country.

This board would really help the readability of Croatian section and improve user experience.

One topic doesn't help much since everything gets thrown in there and it is difficult to track parts of conversation that are interesting.
