The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Everyone's been assigned a team, signups from discord have been carried over and I've added the first round of earned rewards for those that crossed 100k credits already. Rainbow Squad has been formally added for all those that do want no rewards and rather have the BTC donated, which will benefit DirectRelief (and maybe others, depending on the amount collected by the Rainbows).

My CPU gets more workload than the GPU, but the ones it gets are x10 the reward the CPU does.... I've had some times when I couldn't get any WU assigned to either one or both, so to prevent the auto-retry (takes more time every time), you can pause and fold manually (from the control center) until it gets assigned. Reduces the wait time to less than 1/2 minutes every time you try.

Did you try the client-type "hack" that was mentioned earlier in the thread? Since putting that in, I've had a steady stream of WU's for both the CPU and the GPU.

Make sure you use the passkey, whitout passkey you get less points + you need to finish 10 CPU computed WUs first in order to get the full points. 1800 is pretty low, even my 11 year old AMD X2 250 Backup PC is able to make ~3500/Day without GPU.

there is no risk of burning my pc like that? I don't know how well your notebook is cooled. I got desktop and I'm running at full almost 24/7 without any problems.

Your notebook will probably thermal throttle like a mofo... but it'll shut itself down before it catches on fire! These sorts of programs were not really designed for laptops... and laptops[1] were not really designed for these sorts of programs. Also, if you're doing this simply to make a few BTC, then do the math... you need 100,000 credits to get 0.0001 BTC... which is currently worth about $0.67 USD... now calculate how much $$$ worth of electricity you're going to burn gaining those credits. You'd be better off just buying some BTC from someone. This is pretty much the most inefficient way to "mine" BTC [1] "Gaming" laptops would be an exception

Obviously, it isn't designed to be a way to get "free" BTC... it's to incentivise people to help with the Folding@Home project to help combat Covid-19.
You should be doing it to help the effort... not to make BTC.
