It's easy to predict a random future but that doesn't make you wise if you predict a daydream. He used to be relevant when he first became involved but he soon became greedy and corrupt selling his support to the highest bidder.

He was even on the board of some altcoins and then got kicked out probably because he wanted more money.

what he does is that he makes an assessment of the general mood of the market then makes a completely random and bullshit statement about the price according to that general mood. for example during 2017 when the mood was all positive thanks to constant price rises he said the bullshit about $1 million and now that the mood is in exact opposite he says the opposite bullshit about bitcoin being a shitcoin!
then he uses this attention to scam people with the shitcoin pump and dumps and ICO scams.

Agree and thats what makes him a troll where telling up things depending on the situation he's currently seeing.If its bullish then he would say unrealistic prices and now people are longing
for the deal or promise he had made then he do make up some words towards btc and prefer other coins .There are lots of threads do talks about this and people here are surely ignoring and just
trying to forget on what McAfee said because in the first place he wont do such thing in front of national television just because his prediction went wrong.

We need to ignore this guy he lost his respect amongst Bitcoin community and please don't take me wrong I know everyone has their own rights to share their opinion but when he is someone who's followed by millions then he need to understand the chaos his statement could cause as there might be thousands of users who would have invested by going through his staemebt last time and now they will be vulnerable.

I think it's high time he should be more responsible and refrain making such statements.

From the legendary John McAfee that is now turn over at his statement, he told before in the way back of 2017 that he is predicting the market price of the bitcoin for over $500,000 dollars market price at the end of the year of 2020 and he will gonna eat his d*ck if he made a mistake on his calculations and now he is stating that the bitcoin is now worthless and now he is promoting the use of the monero, ethereum and dai.

man we're talking about someone who always makes promises he never keeps.

- he has already promised that people would have plastic cards with his photo on the card to spend cryptocurrencies in the real world, but that didn't happen

- he created an exchange that I haven't seen to be successful and I don't even know if anyone still uses it

- he has already talked about time travel, I think he watched the exterminator movie a lot

Good question! Answer is probably not! I don't know why he makes all that drama when he is an old guy who should enjoy in pension! Instead, he is in crypto making crazy predictions, advertising anyone who pays him, fighting with US government, CIA and I don't know whom else. I saw some pictures of him and his group, on some boat, packed with guns & drugs, of course alcohol, giving some crazy statements. Paranoid, delusional, I don't know who is crazy enough to believe in anything he say!
There are better people to follow and listen, people that can we learn from, something good and smart. McAfee is either really crazy, or he just has fun with people who are crazy enough to listen him!

Please read what he posted on his Twitter, before posting any reply. The man admitted to deliberately misleading the people who followed him on social networks and all of this for the sake of personal promotion and profit. While we were debating whether he was right or not and whether or not he would do it, he made millions of dollars. It is a simple manipulator that uses its name and available technologies to profit.

I believe he was not foreseeing this current world pandemic and how it was going to cause a global financial crisis, and the anti-virus expert felt things didn't go his way and choose to lash out at bitcoin for failing his followers.

I took this prediction as a joke at that time. Indeed Jhon McAfee is the popular person and he will have a thousand of fan out there but I can't imagine how bitcoin can achieve the price that he predicted. More than that this behavior has be done by a popular person out there although it has a different case but it will be the same thing after his prediction doesn't comes as he wish. anyone is free to believe what they think is true, anyone is free to their stuff in the internet without condemning any laws. If you don't give a crap about anyone who speculates a lot then leave his idea, coz you're not forced to sink it with you. Predictions are merely calculations based on imaginative things and idealization that might or might not happen.

But for me personall, this person who said that he'll eat his own genital if bitcoin does not reach $500K is pretty much insane. This prediction is gold, not because it is valuable but because everyone will remember it until the end of the world.
