i don't know about "should be taught" as you don't make a mandatory course in schools to teach "fiat" to students! but the blockchain technology could be an optional course in schools and as more advance topic in certain fields of study such as computer science or even economics (the decentralized currency part). and as far as i have seen there has been many courses already in universities covering the blockchain technology already.

I do remember some economics lessons that actually does teach about the history of money, from barter, to cowry shells, to gold standards and yes, even to fiat, so I guess teaching the next step in the evolution of money isn't so far-fetched... although I think they would be teaching about digital money, with crypto still as an alternative among many, if ever. I'm sure Paypal and e-gold have made their appearances, so why not Bitcoin yeah?

Kids at my kid's school all talk about it, but in the curious yet dismissive way they'd talk first about I don't know, the Tiger King. heh

If I can recall correctly, there were few universities around the world offering courses for Blockchain. Although Blockchain isn't typically equal to Bitcoin only, but due to the popularity of using the Blockchain, I think Bitcoin should be covered in curriculum. It might not be the whole technology behind Bitcoin itself, but it should be a nice cover-up.
I don't think that Bitcoin "should be taught", like even the primary levels would learn the basics into it. If there's courses that I could think of teaching cryptographic algorithm, it would be those technological courses like Information Tech and Computer Science.

There are courses available online related to blockchain and cryptocurrency. The syllabus and course outline of the traditional schools depends on the trend but still they ignore the innovation that bitcoin brings. And the reason behind that because is they are not open to it.

It depends if the government agency related to education allows the school or universities to include cryptocurrency and blockchain to their course syllabus. Since some government are still not letting the cryptocurrency to enter their economy, the legalization of bitcoin is still on hold.

There are a lot of requirements they need to prove if implementing cryptocurrency and blockchain is really effective in making students to become wiser and to think more critically. This is not a big change in a course outline, you will just add a subject so that they have fundamental knowledge about how bitcoin works. But most importantly, introduce first the advantages and disadvantages of using bitcoin to the community.

Having some prior knowledge about bitcoin is essential so that the economy will be affected, since they say that the youth is the hope of the future, this will be the right time to prove it, that students should help the country to improve its economy.

It's likely to be taught by individual courses not by the traditional schools that we know.

If you're a working student, you can still study about the crypto and bitcoin if you know some online schools or a university where they offer courses related to bitcoin. I know that bitcoin is not that very much known but still it is gradually increasing its supporters and users.

Can we teach bitcoin like money fiat is? I mean if we give a learning about bitcoin through its system like number and etc it will be hard to be learn. And I doubt either that most people will get interest to learn about it. But I'll be agree if we give a learning about bitcoin through the economic directly, like we learn about money fiat like inflanation and deflanation etc. I think will be more liked by most people, other than that if we give a learning about bitcoin in profit side it will be good as well.

Research in Artificial intelligence, gamification and blockchain technology are already being taught in university across Europe you can find some of the universities that teaches this on https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.masterstudies.com/Masters-Degree/Blockchain-Technology/amp/ so I think it is not new anymore

IMO, for formal education, I think it will be more emphasized on general knowledge related to blockchain and cryptocurrency, can be included in the curriculum of computer or economic subjects. As for the deeper ability to earn money, it can be obtained through seminars, training, or non-formal education, I think.

It's a good idea, I really picked up interest in this. Now what we need is good education to understand bitcoin how it works or blockchain as a whole. I could remember the few education I gave to few friends and today they have adopted so dearly into crypto.

Addressing the future, cryptocurrency such as bitcoin should be taught in schools.
Yeah I agree that the blockchain technology is important right now and it may be taught in schools. However, there are some things that must be considered to teach crypto in the school:
1. In what grade it will be taught? In my opinion, it needs a crucial and careful consideration to put this lesson to the curriculum. Of course, it may not be taught in the elementary school. But, it may be available for the specific high school, especially that has correlation to the technology program.
2. Considering the condition of the citizen in the country. Every country has different social condition. Many people in some countries are still left behind of the technology, moreover about the blockchain technology.
3. It will depend on the necessity and also significance of this technology in the country. Actually, adoption of the crypto is very good enough, however, not all countries can accept that.

You bring up a good point "What grade will it be taught".

I think it would make sense at the High School level. At this point you you'll be taught basic economic principles in ECON and then it could branch out from there. If one does not understand how things work pre-bitcoin, you may not see the big picture. I wonder if STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs at this level are covering technologies like Blockchain or other decentralized systems. I'm aware of lectures available at the college level, maybe someone could chime in on this subject that had/have their kids in STEM programs.

Few universities are already teaching about blockchain courses. I think it is complicated to teach it in a mathematic algorithm. However in other subjects like economics or other, we can further understand it. Afterall, it is all about it's "blockchain" content and the blocks operated inside. And it's the advancement of technology we are interested to learn here.

Here's some of the universities that teaches blockchain subject/courses;

I think this depends on the school obviously.

Before courses are listed in a school or a college, we all know that these people behind the development of courses should know the popularity and the need of the people that place. Will blockchain technology suits their school if they are in a province being left out in the era of technology? There are a lot of things to consider but it is not that bad to introduce it to students. Blockchain technology is one of innovative technology that should be introduced to students especially those that is related to technology. I do know that some of the schools are introducing Blockchain but not really discussing it, just more of introducing it really.

For now, there are few universities who taught these courses and most of them are in capital city of each country. If a person is interested to learn this stuff for free, He/She can always read and watch some countless articles and tutorials about it. after he reads most of it, he can start to lool for the universities that have this kind of course. there are some alternatives too that he can always enroll an online class with this kind of lesson that are related to blockchain.

In my country there are a lot of people getting speech or talk to the schools or universities most of the time their students are relayed into the world of technology and they are getting hint how they can earn more income and profit with the help of crypto also from the previous talk I recently attended he give some stories about us and one of these is the story of getting into an exclusive event or talk and he does not buy any money instead he just transfer his funds or bitcoin and most of the time he got a lot of earnings with the use of it also payment of bitcoin does not require a tax but instead it had a transaction fee for transferring this is why they promote bitcoin too.

cryptocurrency such as bitcoin should be taught in schools

Ideally, yes. Unfortunately, we are not the one who make decisions in education system. In fact governments have more power when people are financially uneducated and stuck with the same job for life.

I think that bitcoin lucks the ease of use for ordinary people. And there are not enough educational material in plain words like Bitcoin made simple for beginners. I'm looking forward to the time when the UI will be suitable for everyone, even for old people. Only when mass adoption comes we may hope that bitcoin will be included in education system.

In my own personal opinion, it is only possible for bitcoin to be teach in schools if the government have legalized cryptocurrency in their country because there will be a chance that they will approved to teach cryptocurrency in their educational system.
It can move better from being part of educations once the country itself recognized the used of bitcoin/crypto, it's good to see that there's support coming from the government as more people will be interested especially those young age, if they'll be able to follow this chain and enhance their educations about the possibility and the usages they can bring new sets of ideas and enhance everything for the future.

Addressing the future, cryptocurrency such as bitcoin should be taught in schools. This is why I did innovate a basic strategy as my research to used base numbers in cryptographic algorithm.

However, the computer is there to compute the numbers. But still, learners should be able to know the manual computation and how it increase and decrease according to its equivalent value.

In addition, this will make the new evolution of numbers of Mathematics.
There's been this big news that France included cryptocurrencies and blockchain into the official school curriculum. There won't be a whole subject dedicated to it, of course, but there will be some lessons as a part of Economics (and perhaps Computer Science, I am not sure). Moreover, some universities offer courses in crypto and blockchain. Just recently I found about a couple of them in my country (one listed in an online profile, another mentioned by a person who claims to know the guy to teaches it). So while slowly, Bitcoin starts to get attention from the educational system, which is definitely a good and necessary thing.

Well, legality in a wider scope is the basis for any university or school to be able to apply the curriculum in the field of cryptocurrency, but in reality the legality that occurs is still uneven and even still lacking in actual use so that making crypto for a curriculum itself will still get trouble. So I just feel that a broader introduction by the government itself is the main thing to do until finally cryptocurrency and blockchain technology can be learned at school.

I don't think that we should include bitcoin or blockchain technology in any basic education curriculum that early, there should be a step by step process that enables them to get all the knowledge as much as they can, we also should consider that they make a a financial education foundation for the the people, for me this should be a needed reform to education system, the bitcoin and blockchain technology should be taught as a specialization if they push it to education. On the other hand, giving people a dose of financial education even the most basic is very helpful in the long run.
I do not think we are going to see bitcoin being taught at the basic education level, do governments even teach kids and young people about how their fiat money losses value over time and about how they should save as much money as they can and then buy assets that hold value instead of useless stuff? If the answer is no, then why do we have any expectation that bitcoin is going to be taught at schools and expose the truth to young people? Governments like the way things are at schools and they like to keep people ignorant about how the monetary system really works and I doubt they will teach about bitcoin massively at schools unless bitcoin takes over the economy.

That will be I think the first move to introduce this bitcoin to these innocent young people. Even the government declines this plan, you cannot under estimate the curiosity of millenials especially in online monetary system.

I found this site what you were saying about France. Great job to their country.

Few universities are already teaching about blockchain courses.

Do you notice that these courses use the word "blockchain" and not "Bitcoin".

The university courses I checked out, are misguided at best. They don't distinguish Bitcoin from replicated linked list.

That's like a biologist not seeing being able to distinguish a rhino from a pebble.
