In the future maybe some altcoins can replace bitcoin but I'm sure it will take long to happen if people will not support bitcoin anymore because of the high fee and slow speed transaction.
If the history of 2018 will be going back again the there was a lot of possibilities for altcoin to overtake bitcoin again. We will see that what will be happening in the future. The fact if implication for scalability doesn't matter a lot and this time people see bitcoin as a commodity rather than a payment system

If bitcoin cash couldn't do it in 2017-2019 then it will be very much difficult for another coin to do it, bitcoin is known worldwide and its also the most trusted so replacing it will be a very difficult task.

This is difficult to make altcoin can beat bitcoin. Because bitcoin is more popular than altcoin.
One rease to make altcoin can beat bitcoin is every people must know and choose altcoin than bitcoin.

No it's not going to happen, not even binance which is the most active team in crypto space today can beat Bitcoin, can't say about years in the future but Bitcoin is the main reason we are all here today, stop dreaming and support bitcoin today
Yeah I agree, How many times new coins have emerged with great start and potentials to be one of the best cryptocurrency in the world but never came close to what bitcoin have reached in so many years. Bitcoin is the pioneer of all cryptocurrency and will never ever be replace by any other coins wether by old or new.l coins.

Many altcoins already overtaken Bitcoin in technology. It seems impossible for any altcoins price can overtaken Bitcoin price in coming years.

It does not matter. The market exchange system is speculative in nature based on linking the entire market to the price of bitcoin.
Even more technologically advanced coins are not able to overpower Bitcoin, and to a certain extent depend on it.
For this to happen, it is necessary that the price of Bitcoin falls, and the price of "this" altcoin grows so that it can outweigh at least by capitalization.
But this is impossible due to the dependence of all alternative coins on bitcoin.

I think it's impossible, knowing that BTC is an old coin and can even be said to dominate the crypto market until now too. I know that there are many altcoins out there that have the potential for investment, but I strongly believe that BTC will not be replaced by any altcoin.

Altcoins have only the potential to invest and help investors make a profit. But to be able to replace bitcoin in this market is an impossible task, no altcoin will ever be able to do that, even ETH and BNB will never achieve it.

I think no altcoin can surpass bitcoin. While some coins may exceed the price of bitcoin, it's just that it doesn't last long, and no one even cares about that project. In addition, BCH has approached bitcoin price. However, because the bitcoin price has dropped, the price of BCH has also dropped so far. In the future, I don't think there's an altcoin that can access bitcoin.

Taking into consideration the nature and redundancy of Bitcoin technology and the difficulty in scaling, I am very curious to know if Bitcoin protocol will be dropped one day and another coin build to take its place. because now it's almost like the redundancy of Bitcoin and the time it takes for a transaction to be processed is part of what is affecting its mainstream adoption as a currency. please share your thoughts.

For trust, I think everyone would prefer Bitcoin as their main investment over altcoin. For altcoin, I think something will grow but the price is difficult to compete with Bitcoin because of trust and total supply

I agree with you because Bitcoin is the only coin that dominates this market, and all Altcoins cannot compare to Bitcoin at this time. I think with what is happening. Bitcoin will continue to hold the number one position in this market, and in the next few years, there will not be any change happening.

However, I am sure the altcoin's positions will have many big changes and new coins will have a chance to enter the top 10 altcoins if that project is of interest to everyone.

I share your sentiments. Bitcoin is has already capitalize the market. Not only good reputation but it possess about 50% of the market cap and this is really a huge achievement which will take several years for an altcoin to surpass. Bitcoin will lead the market forever.

You trust ETH but it is impossible, it's best to keep its position because the tokens on its platform are decreasing in attractiveness. The altcoins that have appeared on the market don't show the possibility of replacing bitcoin, we wait for new altcoins in the next time.

Bitcoin will lead the market forever.
I think it's too much. Bitcoin may not remain on top forever because there's a chance that it will lose its value by 2140. That's the estimated time for the last bitcoin being mined which means people might lose interest to it and shift to the next big thing. Well it's almost a forever tho lol, I guess it now depends on the point of view of the person Grin. But one thing is for sure, btc will be the king 'til the end of this generation's lifetime Grin.

So do you compare the sending speed between coins against bitcoin?
bitcoin is the main coin and is already well-known, although there will be altcoin which will be faster shipping from btc will not make altcoin take over the role of the king.
But we never know, nothing last forever.

No matter how good a coin or token is what will determine it's success is interest of the people or investors, if a project is very good and people have no interest it will fail, the biggest crypto interest from the public is all on Bitcoin, followed by ethereum, I don't see how a new coin can beat this

It certainly would, be it in price or total valuation. Though I can't guarantee a time frame, nothing here would always remain the same. As new and advance technology on crypto and blockchain come and people start giving altcoins a little trust, bitcoin would be left behind due to it's lack of innovation because bitcoin is a tough project to change. Bitcoin would always remain the pioneer and would have a special value, but it would not always be the king.

This question was already post here so many times by mostly newbie in bitcointalk, maybe in the future but for now there is no sign that some altcoins can beat bitcoin when it come to popularity and market capitalization. Bitcoin is almost finish in mining and no one at the current coins and tokens can beat him but wither we like it or not bitcoin transactions got slower and slower now so lets just wait if what will gonna happen in the future.

It's possible, that is if most people who have Bitcoin decide to opt out for another altcoin, if Bitcoin can lose half of its members aka fan or whales then Bitcoin is done for, what I've noticed about coins and tokens is how much people get addicted, interest brings more demand, this is what keeps Bitcoin in it's 1st throne
