Devs, you sure this coin is not using the original BTC diff algo?  Sure looks like it.  Diff never goes up by any more than 400% at each interval, it should be going up MUCH faster at the rate the network is going.

There's 3 diff algorithms the first two are modified BTC for the initial ramp up period. After block 2880 it will switch to KGW.

Here's the code that handles the switching: https://github.com/bonuscoin/bonuscoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L1560

Here's a post on the details: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=524212.msg5882050#msg5882050

Well.

Almost half an hour before I could finally connect to a pool, now 1.5 hours in and I have a grand total of 653 unconfirmed on Hardcoreminers and 135 unconfirmed on poolest. [Edit: with an Antminer S1]

Now the difficulty is almost 1,000,000.

The launch was more of a faceplant, at least for me.

Sorry to hear it. It was pretty smooth for me. I think he bounties are still open, which actually reminds me. I need to figure out how to add my signature.

What's going on with MinersPool.net?

I've got a ton of coin ... nothing is confirming ... and the pool died?

Thanks.  Glad it went well for you, and I saw your earlier post and I'm glad I was able to help you get up and running.

Time to go do something actually productive so I haven't completely wasted my afternoon.

Looks like you got it added, so did I. Mining at hashing.at with my lil' antminer but not making any kind of dent.

Still, this was the first launch that I managed to get in on time, so it's been exciting. Smiley

Much appreciated! If you post your address, I'm sure I can figure out how to send some BNS over if you want them. Have a good afternoon!

Well, this was an interesting ride. My first launch Tongue

Hardcored totally failed for me. I was getting nothing but rejects. Dammit, I like you guys. Prolly gonna try again in a few minutes. It took a WHILE to connect to anybody else. You guys might try lightninghash if you got a big rig, they are running real smooth but got NO hashpower. Like 12 plus hours estimated to find a block. Can't play that with my little rig, so I wound up (for now) at Hashing.at, which after 15 minutes is showing the same or close too it as cgminer on my stats.

So, you veterans, is it normal for most of the pools to be dead ten to fifteen minutes into a launch? Or just my usual luck?

@biomech it was actually a pretty big launch. not every coin gets so much attention and hashrate but yea mostly pools get overrun at launch and it's a little bit tricky for miners Wink

made some graphic while waiting for launch. if you like it, feel free to use it. bazinga. vector avaiable.

Pretty typical actually.  Out of 10 pools that say they'll be ready at launch, usually only a couple actually are.  It's a crap shot which ones will be ready and which will be dead, so it's best to pre-register at a couple.

My pool should have been ready within about 60 seconds of releasing the password but the windows wallet had problems - had to compile the linux wallet and run that instead.  By that time, hasher.at already had the entire network, and he probably will for a long time.

http://bns.pitythepool.com is pretty lonely, but unique in the fact that it's the only place you can get the real total network hash and est. next difficulty - which, btw, should be around 2,400,000  Shocked

Diff just changed last block:

Network Info
Difficulty                         1,983,788.34180140
Est Next Difficulty                 4,901,363.20725510 (Change in 1 Blocks)
Est. Avg. Time per Block     1 minutes 33 seconds
Current Block                 480

Diff too high for me - I'm back to BTC

Wow!  I'm very happy just got a block right now.  It still took 30 minutes to build my bonuscoind and when I got my 2 Ant's mining (over 400GH/s); diff was already over 240K (now it's close to 2M).  Good thing it was 2x bonus block.  21,223,479 share to get that block!  woohoo!  Got me some BNS now, Cheesy

http://bns.poolest.com is now showing the correct network hashrate for your mining pleasure.  We are finding blocks, and would be happy to get more hashes.  Spread the hash to us.  The server is begging for a little more exercise!  Wink

Looks like the few coins I managed to snag with my USB ASIC are stuck at minerspool. Oh well. :/

bns.poolest.com is the best!  They are now providing a geat data feed for advanced graphing of the BonusCoin performance ...

Here's one of my prototype pages from our upcoming service ... https://xively.com/feeds/1754971649

Click the "Graphs" link in the upper right ...
