Thanks for the updates bonuscoin.  This sounds like a good move for the coins future and will provide an incentive for more people to join in on the PoS system at reduced electicity costs. 

The stake % I do not know, you guys can do the math to determine what % will be best for the coin but make it worthwhile for newcomers to join in. I think at least starting it at 5% will bring more people in.  Either way, I'm up for the beta testing when it's ready and am in this for the long haul.

Ok, yeah we'll make it interesting..  We could go higher to start with a drop off after a year, we just really want everyone to give some opinions..  Think that is something the community can ultimately help with.

If not, we'll just pick what we think is reasonable, but I think this is ultimately a really good decision for the coin.

Yeah, we haven't had a lot of feedback on here yet (its the weekend, figured we might not).  But I think the price is quite telling.  Think most everyone likes the new path for BonusCoin

Yeah, I noticed earlier today it was a little on the low side and as not long before this post there was a nice little spike. Seems to be tapering some. Hopefully not a drop. But you have active developers here and community members. So I am optimistic about future values of this coin. Anyone remember Chikun (KUN) ? Not the same type of involvement you have at BNS. Have not heard much there lately. Willing to eat crow if it comes back to life.

Not sure what to make out about the POS idea for BNS. Shacoin seemed to have flopped. But then again it does not have the community or developers BNS has. So again, I remain optomistic about the future value of BNS.

Don't think it was the PoS that blew up SHACoin.

SHACoin's PoS gen system was flawed and hurt the coin, but could have been fixed. But what finally brought down SHACoin was the original dev premined 600 MILLION SHACoins without telling anyone and was caught..  With that the coin finally died.

Had a good following of people that wanted the PoS in a SHA256 coin.

How can anyone not know about a Premine, Don't they check.... A bit like Yellowcoin (Flawed), I have High Hopes for Bonuscoin, It's been the most Interesting Sha-256 Coin there has been this year without Fu#kups

I love the new plan. I really think it has the potential to drive the coin out of the double digits and past 1k sats. I'm pulling any sell orders i have and stocking up.

Great.  And yes, it'll cut the total expected coin count to around 420 Million + stake, from the original 2.5 Billion expected total.

Which is a large reduction, but we think should seriously help value and commerce adoption.

• Community asked and so we're doing it.  We're switching to PURE PoS after block 75,000.  Everything will stay the same until then, so keep mining and trading - Wallet and Soft fork information will be provided well before it's needed.
• Switch to Pure PoS will occur in about 2-3 months, Mining will continue until then as it is.
• Total Coins will be reduced from 2.5 Billion to approx 420+/- million, plus stake.
• BonusCoin has come a long way, got 7 exchanges, games, paperwallets, large community adoption etc.
• Broke 6000+ votes on MintPal already, working on Cryptsy and CoinedUp.
• We need beta testers for our new PoS system, please tell us if you want to help
• PoS Percent is not yet defined, please give us opinions on this if you have any.  We're thinking between 1-5%?
• Of course the basics about how great the BonusCoin community is
• We are still working on Merchant additions, but the PoS change will take priority right now

Any plans to make this coin merge mineable with p2pool?

A couple of the guys here are looking to put up a P2Pool..

I'm willing to offer out a 25,000 BNS bounty if anyone wants to get one up.  (Actually I'll even do 2 of those if 2 people want to do P2Pools)...

As for Merge Mining, I think one of the pools is already a merge mined pool.  But if someone wants to do a merge mined p2pool, I'll add a bount for 25,000 BNS bonus if the one of the P2Pools is also merge mining.

So, bounties are
1) for up to 2 P2Pools  (25,000 BNS each)
2) IF either of those does merge mining, a bonus of 25,000 BNS

I will speak with the other devs on this topic too..   I haven't yet been able to corral all the devs, but will do so this weekend.  However if someone want to assist before then, I'll put the bounty out and hopefully someone will push toward that goal!

I run a merge mined p2pool node, but bonuscoin is not compatible - the code needs to be adapted within the bonuspool client, not the pool. This is beyond my capabilities I'm afraid, that's why I asked.

Yeah the volume and prixe are both going in the right direction. We're taking that as a positive response to the new plan.. 

Think it's driving a lot of new interest in the coin.  Guess all you guys who pushed for this were right.
