MintPal ChangesMintPal apparently updated their voting system. - They lowered all vote counts by a factor of 5.
- Changed max hourly votes to 1 per hour.
- Increased paid voting cost by 5x
Net result, it's exactly the same, just lower totals. Not sure the point, but just so you're all aware. You can keep helping us 1 vote per hour here: https://www.mintpal.com/voting

I was wondering what was going on. Strange.
I tbink they thought people would spread around their 5 votes to multiple coins.. But eveyone was voting for BNS and we were crashing their servers (Oh that's my theory anyway lol)

i have been trying for ages to compile a wallet for this in linux im a total noob and have been following https://github.com/MPOS/php-mpos/wiki/Quick-Start-Guide this guide but im stupmed at the part where i compile the wallet it just frezzes here: make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=- #<---------after typing this # Strip debug symbols to reduce size strip litecoind # Copy to system path sudo cp litecoind /usr/bin thats what i end up with before it does nothing ubuntu@ip-xxx.xx.xx.xx/bonuscoin/src$ make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=- g++ -c -O2 -pthread -Wall -Wextra -Wformat -Wformat-security -Wno-unused-parameter -g -DBOOST_SPIRIT_THREADSAFE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -I/home/ubuntu/bonuscoin/src -I/home/ubuntu/bonuscoin/src/obj -DUSE_IPV6=1 -I/home/ubuntu/bonuscoin/src/leveldb/include -I/home/ubuntu/bonuscoin/src/leveldb/helpers -DHAVE_BUILD_INFO -fno-stack-protector -fstack-protector-all -Wstack-protector -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -MMD -MF obj/alert.d -o obj/alert.o alert.cpp i understand the above needs editing to incl bonuscoind/bitcoind but i havent got that far. any help? the reason i am having to do this is to create a "pool" so one of my miners will connect

Looks like bonus going to take some time now to get on mintpal now that they changed the voting system to 1 vote per hour and changed the price for buying votes too. Seems to me that their getting greedy.

Yeah they are getting greedy (20 BTC for a listing is ridiculous). But technically they didn't change anything. They lowered the bids to 1 from 5 per hour They raised the buy price by 5 times. So less votes, same net cost. Doing this the right way by voting with our community is always going to be harder than a big IPO raise and paying for the top spot (currenlty 20 BTC costwise). That said, I think we get a lot of value from building our votes with a community even if it takes a little longer than a "IPO." Plus I think as we've moved up MintPal, we've been getting higher prices, more volume, etc. So, MintPal is an endgame, but there is value in the build up too..

Also now you need at least 5 confirmed trades to vote

Took away access for smaller and new investors and miners access to vote.. But most of them just made a few small trades, even though that is still crappy on MintPal's part..
