Even you're planning to invest in a popular coins research is still a must to better understand the flow of the coins and to gain idea on what to expect if ever you plan to hold for long period.

Thats right. IEOs are for short term investment. That excludes project that has somehow more potential. But these projects are rare, how many IEO projects have going down since the trend of IEOs? A lot right? Thats because people joining the launchpad are only securing the profits they earned then will just wait for another opportunity to enter again.

If you are for long term altcoins then choose those who survive for so long and forgot a long term idea for new projects. Thats crypto life cycle I am noticing from the beggining.

reviewing projects that are currently underway is a good thing compared to choosing ICO, or you can choose IEO which is selling in popular markets. now many people see this as an opportunity. at present, there is no appropriate recommendation for an ICO. most ICOs are just a disappointment.

New projects nowadays makes it look like research etc is a waste of time, I won't say it is entirely a waste of time, at least for the meantime it helped people to choose good IEOs they invested in and made good gains within the stipulated time. But considering long term investment on most altcoins, that is where the issues lies and from recent happenings, research rarely works, because, the team have every power of either improving or not of which most of the times they choose to lag behind while giving excuses hence the decline in the altcoin's price. In addition, it is good to know that, only a few project team works hard to improve hence making research on long term investment a good thing.

You are right i think if someone is entering the market for longterm perspective then risking his money with new projects is not a wise thing to do rather trade btc and eth on long timeframes and make some extra cash or accumulate more and more btc n eth for future appreciation.

If it is a new altcoin, I think nowadays there are very few altcoins to have promising or potential future. So, even we do research, it is nor really worth for a long term purpose. But if we just target for a short term investment, picking new altcoins based on research is still acceptable or reasonable. It is very unfortunate but it is the fact.

That's pretty much what has happened towards these years. Back then, it was the hype that there are a lot of ICO that is happening, and people starting to get over to that space and made money. The first ones who experienced that had the opportunity to profit a lot. When the time came when it's pretty well known, there are people who start taking advantage of this and started scamming people for their BTC. Then the ICO hype ended.

Then comes the IEO where it's almost the same, it's just that people are starting to make partnerships with big well-known cryptocurrency exchanges that would trade their tokens and possibly do the same thing like ICO. Pump and dump the coin.

This is my conclusion about altcoins for long-time investment terms, don't do it. It's just that there are already enough coins today and there seems to be a lack of actual applications of different coins. I would just like to trade the coins that I would be willing to HODL instead of trying to find the 10x, 100x, 1000x, coins.

Research is part if the on educating your self in the project and would how yoylu would make a move for investments. Success of the project would still depends on how the project will progress, develop and how the team will perform. There are some project with great potentials but the team just couldn't execute their plans really well so it end up a failure.

Yes, it is worth it. Without research on the altcoins, we cannot know which altcoin that can be a long term investment, and we may pick the wrong coin. We don't want to make a wrong buy because right now, many altcoins could be one of the potential altcoins for long term investment. But if you choose bitcoin for the long term investment, you only need to buy at a low price because bitcoin will be the best coins for your investment. But still, you need to be careful when you analyze so you don't buy bitcoin at a high price.

It is true, research is just an initial step for you to gauge if a project has a potential or not. There are sometimes that project are scam but it's not mean that it's bad at all. In this situation, you know that this kind of project are scam, you can be able to trace it next time. When the project developers had no interest of developing their projects further then there is no point of doing analysis on technical things because at some point the team will dump everything which will result into huge dump for that coin.

I'm sorry mate but I don't agree with your judgment regarding researched on altcoins before investing are purely waste of time and energy. For me researching on any project before investing is a must-do because it can pre-empt any possible fraud to happen and I can say it's true, Because I'm already experience that many times already. I participated in ICO before but I don't do any researched instead I'm only basing my judgment through the popularity of the project. But after raised a huge amount of money, it was gone without a trace. Thats why since that day before I am going to participate on any project my first thing to do is doing some researched and it was effective base on my experience.

The project owner can easily dump the project anytime they like therefore those investors who keep on holding the coins of that project will surely lost their money. This is the worst scenario that we need to avoid especially if we can found some project that has potential in the start but the assurance to continue it until the end is very thin compare to bitcoin and ethereum as they have proven already their worth.

Therefore the best altcoin to hold for a long term are those who have worth already and has a good ranking compare to those newly created project as there is a very less chance that they can survive that long especially if the team have reach their goal already. Once they already reached their goal, they can just dump and start a new one again to continue gathering some profit. That is how I see the movement of the project owner here, therefore be wise if you like to hold an altcoin for a long term one and make sure that they are worth to hold.

this is what the trend now mate,actually upon checking almost all of the tokens/coins being listed in exchange?just after days or weeks the price suddenly falls Low and become a dying currency.
