Are research on altcoins for long term investment worth it??

their ieos,
the immediate pump after ieo,
The stable price and volume for few weeks, months,
And the sudden crash in price,

I want to say that any research on altcoin whatsoever is pure waste of time & energy. it's only the coin devs/team and that can guarantee someone the exact time to invest & exit, it is better to invest and hodl altcoins on the short notice and take profits.

when you're ready to hodl for a long time. It is better you do all that research on trading TA wise for btc & eth than any other altcoin whatsoever.

This is my ample opinion, i will like to further learn from suggestions

It is true, research is just an initial step for you to gauge if a project has a potential or not. Once the project gathered enough funds for project developent, it all depends on the whole team how will they maximize the fund and how will develop the platform/product as well as marketing which will determine the growth in the long-run.

Research is always helpful before investment. Now investment in altcoins are very risky if you don't find a good project. Although it is tough to find a good project now. I have seen many successful projects in the last few years but now almost all are dead except few ones. In the long run, i only suggest to invest BTC, ETH, XRP, LTC, XLM and few top coins but it should be remembered not to invest in shit coins.

There is nothing doing research, they are really helpful especially you are putting your money there.
Investing in such altcoins, especially during the ICO or IEO stage are extremely risky, but now IEO becomes popular and less risky compare to the ICO. But still, there are already lot of examples of IEOs that are already dumping off the floor after their pure hype launch.

Everyone HATES KYC/AML when dealing with exchanges. It's a boring process that exposes your identity, something that goes AGAINST the real purpose of cryptocurrencies itself.
With the US dollar becoming digital in the future, and people who wants to deal with money off the grid, it's pretty easy to see where adoption comes in 

I'm sure decentralized exchanges such as Blocknet's DEX will get insane volume and usage in the coming years from people who's SICK and tired of the current monetary system. If you own a node on the network, you can profit passively off the DEX trading fees, including their other services such as decentralized oracles, and a new and improved Infura solution.

With that said, I don't believe these projects will explode over night, but be pretty decent long term holds, and a great vehicle for a passive income for years to come.

Research is not truly a pure waste of time as you've labelled it. The market reacts to so many news and the whale factor makes it look as if though there's no stability. Research helps us to avoid scams in the name of altcoin projects, it helps us to identify key projects with potentials despite the turn in price of such projects over time.

Flash pumps do often occur when an IEO for a project ends. not infrequently when the list on the exchange price falls more than 80%.

A lot depends on market conditions as well, as you can see we are currently in long downtrend from couple of years and this may change soon but due to downtrend most new projects and coins will automatically suffer because there is no or low volumes for new coins in the market and due to negative sentiment in the market people avoid taking new positions. So it all depends on the market in bullish market even low quality projects and coins can pump massively.

That's what we have called that as the hype.

Sometimes you don't need to do a lot of research when you are facing a coin that was hyped by people. If you wanna go for longterm and invest into the existing coin ( in this case i meant an old one) And you have to need to do research. Short term play may bring less risk compared with long term.

You earned current market situation properly even you are new. After your information I would suggest to invest for long time when price dump in exchange. From now you you have keep your eyes on some altcoins like "CARTESI" project. Every time BTC pump then some altcoins must be pump huge. Stable coin pair listed coin price don't pump big percent.

in my opinion depending on what altcoin you choose, if you choose altcoin randomly and you don't understand the background of the project then you will be trapped, my suggestion is to choose a good altcoin in the top 100-200 Coinmarketcap, choose according to what you understand

Everyone is simply concerned about making profit. Altcoin invesment is with extra care and proper research. No forming of loyalist because it's a big risk. Preferably it's better to stick with the big guys.

Absolutely yes. Research in this industry will save you the trouble from all the chaff projects that are circulating in this industry with the purpose of running away with the funds of its investors. I don't think I would ever invest in any project without making a research about it first lol.

If you feel that research is a waste of time and energy, then I just hope you don't complain if you end up investing in inappropriate projects because when there are lots of projects, then at least you are required to be more thorough if you still want to make a profit at the end. Everyone can randomly choose a project that you do without doing research, but the problem is those who complain because the efforts they made during the sales and marketing period did not give good results, be careful.

That's why I stopped to bother myself investing in projects during token sale, except I am sure that the IEO will be profitable. Well, good to see that ICO is already gone because if there is still any, I will not invest at all. Most times, I just prefer to wait until trading starts.
While trading, if you are not greedy, you can be in control of your fund. You can determine when to sell and when to buy.  Although, it is strategic and it is  thing you can learn to do with no panic.

Of course research is crucial when choosing altcoin for long-term investment. Some of the altcoins in the market are at high risk but if we choose altcoin which is at the top and traded at a large exchanger, I think our investment will be quite safe. Although there is no guarantee that altcoin will continue to rise, but at least with great liquidity, we will be easy to trade

You are too naive if you think researching is a waste of time for you. It will lead to your downfall soon as you will realized that you've fallen into someone's hand that which you can prevented if you only had researched. If you didn't search the projects background and history, how can you be sure that you can trust them with your money? what if you invested long enough and scammed when you didn't exit fast enough? research is the answer.

The only time you stop researching is when you are trying to invest in a top altcoin and other people does it to you.

Doing your homework before investing will always be worth it instead of blindly picking a project to invest or joining they hype. There are tons of good projects out there that lacked support because most investors skip the part of doing their research when choosing a project. Research are always good for me I don't know how many people go through on researching but still it will give you a clarity on the project and security which is foremost important on crypto industry, you cannot blindly Invest on a coin and keep on holding for decades.

How come you will invest on a coin without knowing anything about that??? That's quite strange.. I suggest you to research multiple times before investing on a coin to avoid losing money.
