Even if the match applies social distance for the audience, it doesn't guarantee to get safety from the virus because we don't know how the virus can infect people. The promoters should think about this pandemic, and they need to postpone the match for a while. Perhaps, their people need to search the other jobs because this pandemic is to worry in all countries. It is better if we can prevent than cure the infected. But that is up to themselves, but I hope that their government will think about that.

With the pandemic going all the way and no visible solution, opening up with some caution is the right thing to do. We should test all the players and separate the sick for treatment while the healthy ones should keep on going with their job. The lockdown is turning to be a mental crisis more than a economic one. The events should be exclusively broadcaster without any viewers on the event.

I support if the boxing match event is held without spectators even though the country has a record of 13 small cases so far. Having a big risk if the masses are still gathered and not banned, I hope the promoter will consider not to present the audience because outside the stage, they cannot be controlled.

What do you think about this, do you think that some sporting events have a good chance of resuming?
even though they do boxing matches, this could endanger themselves from a pandemic and the current virus can be transmitted by direct touch.

The boxing committee should, if there is a ban from the local government, they have to obey the rules for the good of the people, yes, eating is still eating, but this concerns people's lives.

In my opinion for the time being as long as the VD-19 virus attacks the world, all sports activities are temporarily stopped, no exception, sports are general.
if one is infected it will generally spread.

If you read the articles, there are spectators practicing social distancing. But then again, as echo by most posters here, it just endangered the many lives of people in their country. Yes, those boxers need to put food in the table just like the rest of us here. But there is a huge risk here, again as I have been calling the covid-19 pandemic, an invisible enemy. The country itself should not allow this kind of sporting events.

It not justified for reasoning that they need to put food on their tables since everyone needs it, and its unfair for the people who follow the government to stay at home while them putting theirselves on risk. They didn't know if they brought the virus in the home and it will spread in their neighborhood and that will be a huge danger to the whole community. Its better for them for not downplaying the virus since it could be worse if it will spread to vulnerable peoples.

Checking the articles everything was guided, the audience seems to know what they are into, there are spacing in every seat the most likely that will get infected if one of them has it are the boxers, if they are going to do that again they should test all the boxers with various test kit to make sure that no one boxers are infected.

I guess Nicaragua is one crazy boxing nation, Lol. I do hope that they make the right decision as the world is really suffering from the covid-19 pandemic. But still, there are risk involved here, they may have the lowest cases, but it doesn't mean that they are going to be immune with the virus. Personally, I love the sports, but let's not wait till the virus gets into their country, they should take care and health comes first.
With the percentage of affected people they believe that they are able to contained this virus from their place. Promoters insist that the boxers needs money to feed their families so the fight should continue, we don't know how things will turned since they are not affected that much, and they are
seeing that it's possible to proceed.

If there is a perfect time for boxing matches to resume, I am very sure it is not today. How could they think of boxing matches in the middle of this pandemic?

Having low infection rate does not give them a green light to hold events where people are gathered and are talking or even touching each other. This is an absurd decision by the authorities allowing this match. Their efforts to disinfect are simply lacking. People are touching the rails, chairs, tickets, money, and their faces.

It is enough that a single infected person is present among the hundreds in attendance for the virus to spread very widely all over their place.

It should not be an adequate reason as we all need money to feed our family, the reason the boxing push through is because the government supported this event since there's a little threat on the virus in their country, well, obviously they supported it, otherwise it did not happened.

I don't think so, they have been allowing football games also in their country as well. I am not aware of other sports but the betting line on their football league even U20 is pretty much one of the popular right now during lockdown in sportsbook.

Correct. Maybe they think that they won't get much affected since they are following the precautions properly but you can't be sure about that. Perhaps they are taking precautions also in holding these events by doing in closed stadium.

The boxing match is not a major one comparing it with big boxing bout, the Fan's would not be much in comparison also, but there is no denying that it can be dangerous even with preventive steps followed, I think what the world want to do now is learn how to live and go by day to day operations with the virus

Well I think they don't need physical audience to the arena, we have pay per view so they can easily get it done. On top of that, boxers are given at least 6 months before the fight so their condition would be long lasting. I think what the association is doing is that, they are checking their boxers a month before then isolating them so they could not catch the virus then the fight day will be a pay per view only fight so boxing fans will be able to watch the fight at their house. Boxing association won't let their boxers get infected, medical team should always be in the corner side.

I have read the articles and images of the viewers who were examined maximum and obeyed the rules of social distance. Again, that does not guarantee that they are free of viruses because there is a new problem, namely the category of people infected with viruses without symptoms. Who guarantees that they are not in the audience?
I understand that the complaints of all athletes and the state government must pay more attention to them and the general public to meet their needs. If ignored, the government will have to spend a lot of money just to break the chain of the spread of the coronavirus.

So boxing promoters from Nicaragua still proceed with their boxing match despite the pandemic, they have taken all the precautions
Fighters are sprayed with disinfectant, ring girls don face masks and socially-distanced fans.
It is really difficult to predict what will happen now, if anyone gets infected while attending the event then they might face backlash.

The promoters dismissed the coronavirus  and insist that boxers need to eat and feed his family
This is a situation with everyone who have a business, any idea how many restaurants will be shutting down because of financial issues and how many small and medium business are under financial trouble is really high globally and it is true that you cannot shut down places for a very long time but what is the alternative, taking risk is not the solution, until there is a cure or a vaccine to contain the virus you need to follow these restrictions.

What do you think about this, do you think that some sporting events have a good chance of resuming?
Individual sports can resume without audience like Tennis, Badminton, Golf, Darts etc but group sporting events and contact sports is high risk in my opinion.

They have held this event because the number of infected is not very high in their country.

Check the article to know more

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-8258251/Coronavirus-Boxing-event-takes-place-Nicaragua-promotor-insists-boxers-need-eat.html
Quite honestly I think some of the big boxing matches could be performed as planned or with a slight delay since all of the revenue could come from PPV and the public could be forbidden to get in, after all boxing is a not a team sport and you only need the boxers, trainers, doctors, judges and the referee, so the total amount of people needed for a match will probably be below 20 people and most of them will be far enough from each other, however in this case they are letting public in and to me the risk is simply too high to allow that to happen.

This is really pathetic. The promoters are exploiting the helplessness of the boxers. Most of those who would agree to fight will be the ones facing acute financial crunch. Else who will take this suicidal step? Check the case with Belarus. They went ahead with the football league, after ignoring the advice from the medical experts. Now they have one of the fastest spreading COVID epidemics in the world.

I'm not defending Nicaragua and I'm not from that country but after looking to the information and number of cases with Belarus, they have more cases compare to Nicaragua. That's sad to know that Belarus allowed that to happen.

The permission was granted by their officials and it's considerable because the cases there are that low. They have practiced social distancing and the audience aren't that much base to the picture posted on the first page.

If they use a pay per view, that can prevent the audience from going to the match, and the important is that prevent body contact between people even if they use physical distance. Isolating the boxers a month before the match can be a good solution for every boxer, and the association can control and always check the boxer's health. Perhaps, that can help the boxers to have money from the match but still, that have a risk which we don't know what it is. We hope that everything will be okay, and the boxers are not get infected while they can have the money for their family.

The spectators might be able to do physical distancing, but what about the boxers also with the people in the ring that is almost impossible to do.
Even though the number of infected is small but when the virus has entered a country, everyone must be vigilant because they will never be able to know where the virus can be infected.
When reading the above article the government of Nicaragua will not only allow boxing and soccer matches but also other sporting events and even they will start promoting their tourism. It seems they believe that the numbers infected will not be like other countries.
