The kind of boxing where all people wear a facemask, even the boxers, will somehow be marked in history lol. This is the first time.

Anyways, what happened has happened. The event was already done so what people must hope now is, everything will be fine, specifically within the period of 2 weeks or 14 days.

But surely, if such an event never resulted in another related case to Covid-19 on their country, expect that more organizers, not just in the sports industry, will follow the same since they will think of it as safe and no problem.

This is still risky call for their people they shouldn't be too careless to act though but who am I to stop them since everyone really need something to eat. It's more like a gamble on their health versus the pandemic I hope they wouldn't belittle the ability of this virus since there hasn't any vaccine yet. Everyone is suffering though, they should think about what could possibly happen if there's someone who is positive of COVID-19. And why their government allow it in the first place?

So boxing promoters from Nicaragua still proceed with their boxing match despite the pandemic, they have taken all the precautions
Fighters are sprayed with disinfectant, ring girls don face masks and socially-distanced fans.

The promoters dismissed the coronavirus  and insist that boxers need to eat and feed his family

They have held this event because the number of infected is not very high in their country.

What do you think about this, do you think that some sporting events have a good chance of resuming?

Check the article to know more

Probably they won't allow much spectators to watch the game and boxing is an indoor game so there is no big issue of handling that game when it comes to tournament like events but the games were people are gathered in hundreds of thousands will be an issue and it should be banned until the vaccine found.
It can control the numbers of viewers who can go and watch this live events and then provide live streams for those who also wanted to watch and gamble from the match that they are offering, since crowd control is need due to corona virus, online viewers can still enjoy watching in front of their tv screen for sure they will be willing to pay cables who will offer pay per views.

i dont think they are doing this to have to eat something because locals right now are providing food and money   . they can still eat that way without the risk

life's already a gambling though although they are literally going to gamble  ( play gambling which is boxing while risking thier health at the same time ) there are no vaccines yet and they say it will be out next year but there are still meds now for temporary cure so that will still help infected people if ever  .

The method that Nicaragua implemented was good, it is not the one that I would like. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus does not leave many alternatives. Sports generate a lot of income for countries and not celebrating would mean a lot of losses. After seeing what the Covid19 is capable of. I agree that the events take place without spectators and that the teams are tested for the Coronavirus.

This is risky for athletes, staff, and even for spectators of ever, they will allow it. Having only a few numbers of positive cases of COVID doesn't imply that they should be lenient in implementing lock-down. I understand that they need to earn to have something to eat but this will cause a massive spread if thwy will not be strict in implementing lock-down.

The boxers did not wear a face mask, it is impossible to fight with masks in a real professional bout  Tongue.

They are taking the risk which is not advised in a situation of pandemic and no one really knows the extend and how long we will be in a state of hiatus and we cannot shut everything down for a long period of time but for that we need to find a solution to cure the virus if not they are putting everyone at risk including the fighters family members.

Other than esports, I think chess since they can do it online too.

It is true though that there are people that need to do their job since there are those people that are no work, no pay. This might work in this country but not in all countries with a lot of people being contaminated. It might not be the people watching, it might be the people they walkthrough in the streets, we never know who is already infected that is why this is still risky. But the thing here is that this country is one of the biggest in Central America and they only have a few positive cases that is why this could work.

It's not them (promoter and the team) who will have to implement lock down, the government has to, but with no action from the government against this event, that clearly tells the risk on covid is still very low in their county.

We don't know if that can make them still safe or not because even we sit down not to close each other, we still have a chance to get infected. We don't know if someone is a carrier or not, but we can hope that their victim will not increase after that match. Still, they are risking by watching the match directly, but they will know more than us because we don't live in that country.

Well, it depends on the country's rule on social distancing and stuff like that. Is it mandatory there? If yes, then the boxers have broken the rules by boxing close together. This is one of the problems with games that require player contact in public. Besides, boxing (a game of violence) isn't something worth taking risk for (court risk esp) in this current situation.

I'm not talking about how they gamble their life though but the risk they take is higher than the chance they wouldn't caught any viruses after the match. And exactly could you tell that their government is really providing them so all the people could eat? They shouldn't risk to let this match approved. All I am just saying is look at the first world country, even they're already have the most advanced in healthcare they still suffer from this pandemic. What more to the third world countries?

So boxing promoters from Nicaragua still proceed with their boxing match despite the pandemic, they have taken all the precautions
Fighters are sprayed with disinfectant, ring girls don face masks and socially-distanced fans.

The promoters dismissed the coronavirus  and insist that boxers need to eat and feed his family

They have held this event because the number of infected is not very high in their country.

What do you think about this, do you think that some sporting events have a good chance of resuming?

Check the article to know more

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-8258251/Coronavirus-Boxing-event-takes-place-Nicaragua-promotor-insists-boxers-need-eat.html

Well actually it is their own choice and maybe before they have continue to held the boxing event is that they get the permission from their own government. But, at times like this that we are having the pandemic, we must not set aside even the small count of infected people can still do harm since it is a virus that can be spread if mass gathering will be held. But since they are doing precautionary measures for that event, then it will be fine as long as they can assure that they will not be the one to cause for the virus to spread even more in their place. They must take full responsibility of their actions because clearly, live sports event at different countries have been cancelled or postponed to prevent the spread of virus. Nicaragua must do the same thing also so that the small counts of their infected citizens will not grow into massive numbers.

If that claim is true well I don't know how there government consider things since for just 1 match they risk the lives of people who watch the bout for the sake of money? even if they had small numbers of infected person they shouldn't really downplay it and be confident that they are ok since it will be turn worse if the outbreak will start just because of this event.

yes, but they might be thinking that they were able to manage the risk since they do precautions on this certain fight.
Whatever happens, if things goes bad, then the government should be blame since they definitely approve this event to be realize.

We can't dictate them, every government has their ways of running their own.

They think it's still fine because they have low cases of the virus in their country. But it's better to prevent the virus from spreading because there is still no cure available. Strict rules should be also implemented for everyone's safety. However, if they will be going to continue such events, they should not have let the audience watch personally. They could have made the fight available online or on TV than letting people gather in the crowd. Other countries are also affected by the virus but they can still go outside freely.

Maybe it's fine, as long as they will keep proper handling to keep everyone safe and would still avoid mass gathering because it's one of the main reasons why the virus is spreading so fast.

The ratio for one possible case to spread is high if it's not taken seriously and that confirmed case won't be taken into quarantine, it can infect more than one digit of a person if contract tracing won't be determined. Well, it has been done, and let's just hope for the best to them and I know many are disappointed with it.
The ones whose disappointed into this one is to those citizens who just stay up to their homes and securing out their lives for them not to get infected and for those people who do attend such event does really dont care
on that matter as long they do able to attend and watch the fight.Dont know on whats up to their minds but well whats done is done and do hope that no one is an asymptomatic one and able to spread out
the disease.

I wont be surprised if there would be next similar situations on this one where pushing out tournaments or events in spite of the current situation we are facing now. They do look like they arent alarmed
on whats happening on the world now.
We will see if the total cases on their country changes. And I don't think that those people that are following the quarantine and chose to stay at home are disappointed.
They are even caring and worried about those people that doesn't have a serious outlook for this pandemic.

The boxer will undergo test first before they fight and obviously both of them are physical fit due to there training so there's no problem regarding boxer health. The main issue is the viewer safety which I believe only few have courage to risk there life just to watch personally the fight. This fight is actually a gamble to their promoters because they already spend money on promotion and continuing the fight is a must for them.

I believe it will continue unless government stop them and insist the safety of the viewers. Its really a bad year for those fight that schedule this and already spend a lot of money on promotion.

I really think it is already in a halt, this kind of Pandemic is not a laughing matter in my opinion even though fighters are physically fit they are still at risk in getting the virus and for your information physically fit or having a regime of exercise doesn't mean you are 100% healthy at all, there is still a huge chance for fighters getting infected by the COVID 19, that is how deadly the virus is, and if a player or fighter does have a history of respiratory infection or having trouble with their respiratory system then a tendency of getting infect is pretty huge in my opinion.

The kind of boxing where all people wear a facemask, even the boxers, will somehow be marked in history lol. This is the first time.
The boxers did not wear a face mask, it is impossible to fight with masks in a real professional bout  Tongue.

-slapface-

It should be obvious that what I'm pointing is prior and after the fight. Boxers wear a mask but of course not during the fight. We are not on kinder days to take that statement literally.

But surely, if such an event never resulted in another related case to Covid-19 on their country, expect that more organizers, not just in the sports industry, will follow the same since they will think of it as safe and no problem.
They are taking the risk which is not advised in a situation of pandemic and no one really knows the extend and how long we will be in a state of hiatus and we cannot shut everything down for a long period of time but for that we need to find a solution to cure the virus if not they are putting everyone at risk including the fighters family members.

They take risks because their situation is different compare to other countries. Meaning even with the 1st and 2nd wave of the virus spread from another country, they still managed to minimize their cases and successfully maintain the low number of confirmed cases. So rather than shut downing completely all the business, they push for it with great caution.

However, I don't know why they consider having a crowd. They can push without it as part of precaution. I don't know what happens after the fight. All people there must be put on self-quarantine before going again in public.
