There is no doubt that when halving is close there will be a significant rise in the price of bitcoin but i am sceptical about this year halving, i am having this feeling that it might not go as expected. My advice is that everyone should trend with caution in order not to get our hand burn.

We are closing to the bitcoin halving event and the orice has already startes to act to the event as expected. We may now see a significant increase in BTC price as well. Is it a good time to invest some money on some altcoins, obviously on the top altcoins only.

I think it's a great time to buy altcoins before Bitcoin's halving begins on May 12, 2020. Prices will skyrocket like never before, because Bitcoin's block reward will be cut by half. The hype will be there at least for a year or two, until everything goes back to normal. If you've managed to invest into the most prominent cryptocurrencies on the market (such as Litecoin, Ethereum, Monero, etc...) you'll be able to experience massive gains in the short term. I'd suggest that you sell some coins during the bull market run in exchange for a stablecoin of your choice (or even Fiat) to preserve your investment. Then, you can buy the same cryptocurrencies back again with the stablecoin or Fiat when prices go all the way down the drain. Repeat the process after every halving, and you might be able to maintain a steady financial life.

Of course, crypto is an extremely risky investment. Prices are very volatile (unstable) across the market leading you to quick losses if you don't know what you're doing. It's always best to perform your own research into the altcoin you're willing to invest, just to be safe. Old altcoins are to be trusted since they've been on the industry for a very long time. They have dedicated development teams, and real use cases for the mainstream world. However, not every altcoin is like this (especially new ones). There are a lot of Bitcoin copies (Bitcoin-based forks) which have no utility in the mainstream world. They're simply quick money grabs by their developers, becoming useless coins in the long run. As long as you buy the right altcoins, nothing should go wrong. Just my opinion

Saving altcoin at the top is in my opinion a good idea because the cryptocurrency market is not possible to rely solely on Bitcoin. But approaching Bitcoin Halving, I think investors will be more interested in Bitcoin because they expect the price to rise when Halving starts

The recent trend is that the increase in BTC is not followed by alt movements globally, and when BTC goes down, alt goes down, this makes a big discount at alt, so it can be one of the right moments to fill a bag. For long-term investment, IMHO, is very effective, while waiting for BTC to reach the top. Based on historical data, alt season occurs after BTC reaches the peak, then the party begins. l do agree with your opinion about that, while the prices are so low, we have to use this chance and collect some altcoins till halving. Altcoins can be profitable in the near future, it is out of the question. As you above said l prefer also to invest in top altcoins, in my humble estimation investing in top altcoins is more valuable than in others.

Altcoins' prices are truly driven by Bitcoin's movement on the market. When Bitcoin is on the "green side", other altcoins follow. The same thing happens vice versa. In the short term, it's best to accumulate as much Bitcoin as you can before it's too late. There's the feeling that prices per BTC will become higher in the next months or 1-2 years from now because of the block reward halving. For the long term, you can try to buy and "hodl" prominent altcoins on the market such as Ethereum and Litecoin for big gains. The former will be transitioning from PoW to PoS, while the latter will include Mimblewimble privacy onto its own blockchain ledger. Things will become quite interesting for both of these cryptocurrencies over time, thanks to their active development and innovation.

When looking for good altcoins to buy, always take into consideration how actively developed an altcoin is and what use cases it brings to the mainstream world. There are hundreds of altcoins out there which are nearly identical to the original blockchains they've forked from, lacking mainstream adoption. I'd suggest anyone to buy and "hodl" as much ETH as possible before the upgrade takes place on July 2020 (hopefully). The excitement/hype will begin, leading towards a massive increase in price within the short term. In the long term, ETH might as well be worth $500 to $1,000 because of its undefined supply. Unless devs decide to make ETH a scarce cryptocurrency just like Bitcoin is today, it cannot be considered as a store of value. By investing in ETH and other top cryptocurrencies in market cap with active development and mainstream adoption, you can gain better profit opportunities on the market. Just my thoughts

well, I totally agree with what you say because altcoin prices depend on bitcoin price movements so as much as possible to buy altcoin when prices are falling like this and make the best use not to buy when there is a pump or when the price is rising.
