I understand the sentiment of the others about Choosing A but are you willing to just see the world like this, waiting for unknown, without a specific timeline when the vaccine will be made? The effect of no-business can result in an economic loss as it plays a big role in every country. The effect might be as heavy as what the pandemic virus brings if the situation will last for several months or years.
I also like A but seeing the status of vaccine, and I know it's really difficult to formulate one even all world experts are working on this, it's a gamble to just wait for it. We need to see businesses slowly coming back and the sports industry is one of them.
As long as everything is set up properly, I'm sure everything will be fine.
The effect of no-business will result in much more than economic loss, people will not have what to eat, especially people in big cities! Or they will have what to eat, but they will not have money for food! I understand the fear from virus, but shutting down everything isn't a good solution for fighting against this invisible enemy! Even with this few months there will be consequences for many, slowly getting back in the game is what everyone needs! I say protect yourself as much as you can, but you can't run from your destiny! Choice is simple, either you will go to work and risk getting sick (covid is not the first or the last virus or disease we are facing), or you and family can starve to death! I think we didn't need this drama in the first place, I understand we need to be careful, to wash hands after touching anything, to have high level of hygiene, but for many of us that's a normal thing!!!

Sporting events are also business that rakes huge amount of money. And once they stopped, they'll miss a lot of profit that's why some organizations and sports have already the plans to relive themselves even without the vaccine. But, there is no need to worry because they will still comply to the rules given by WHO to avoid spread of the corona virus. I think this is just the start of it and other sports in different countries that have lower case of corona virus will go back again.

This is a difficult question since sport is not just entertainment but actually a branch of the economy. And this industry is no less important than industry. I think there is no way to endlessly wait for some kind of complete "salvation", it is necessary to gradually launch the entire economy with the necessary precautions. And sporting events must also resume.
Exactly, the entertainment industry is huge and like any industry that is that big is impossible to stop it completely, so at some point they need to begin to resume their activities despite the coronavirus, what they must do is to find a way to do that while still keeping the players as safe as possible and one option could be for the most popular sports to begin to compete again but without any audience on the stadiums and to perform regular checks to their players to see if they have not acquired the coronavirus.

billions of dollars in profits from all sports match lost... I also think the same as you, countries that have low covid19 cases, sure will start holding sports matches in their countries, especially football matches. in my city alone there is a discourse from the government to hold back some sports matches without spectators which were delayed if the positive case of the virus is reduced by 90%.

Most sports events are halted, suspended, postponed, and canceled because of the pandemic virus for about to 1-2 months now. Within that short period, the damage is serious so I can't imagine if it will take a year or over.
Seen several posts here about the vaccine that should be made first before resuming. It makes sense and the best thing to do but providing the timeframe of creating a vaccine against Covid-19 that might take a year(s), is the world can afford to wait for that vaccine?
So what do you think?
a) wait for the vaccine even it will take years, end of the discussion
b) resume slowly with several considerations such as no audience, limited number of staffs or any important things to do before considering resuming, unless the area or place was heavily affected
Since it's almost impossible to expect a vaccine until the end of the year or maybe the 3rd quarter of the next year, I will go with B but with lots of considerations (But I'm hoping I'm wrong. We all want the vaccine and experts around the world are truly working hard for it).
Both choices can be a good one. But if people would really insist that sports events must already take place specially for those that are claimed or have proven to have less or no cases of the virus, the option B will be a great choice because there really is a point that we cannot wait for much longer for the vaccine before we can operate or make things work because it will kill people not because of the virus but because of hunger brought by unemployment. If the government have already allowed industries concerning the operation on food and other essential goods to operate with limited man power or limit the capacity of workers to exhibit proper social distancing, then it might be the same thing to be applied for sports events to take place. We must do alternative ways to make our economy be working because if we will just wait for the vaccine, then it will take too much time before we can be able to work things out. What we just need to do it to have some restrictions that is concern for the sake of people not to spread the virus.

~snip~.............if the positive case of the virus is reduced by 90%.
I think it will certainly take time and no sports will be allowed since 90% is a high target. The only way to make it possible in a short period of time is the vaccine, without it, it's unlikely to happen. Think of the scenario in the US, let's say US has 1 million infected people, so that would mean 900K should be cured for their sports to be allowed to start.

As long as they can maintain the orders from the higher ups to avoid spreading of the virus, that's already enough I guess. They can still manage to make those sports done. And if somebody will ask how about the profit they'll make, well, that's where the ads will come in from the broadcast that they have. That's for sure because many sports fans would love to watch a game in the middle of pandemic.

There can be changes as we play football during this era of covid-19, we shouldn't wait to have the vaccines before the kick.start of the world football. We don't know how long it will take many of these scientists to find this vaccine because of the nature the covid-19 is been handle by the government. The political nature that the World powers are playing around this virus will definitely prolonge the discovery of the vaccine. As I have always said, we can adjust the system due to the coronavirus while playing football this time.

a) wait for the vaccine even it will take years, end of the discussion
For me, this is the best answer since COVID-19 is not a normal virus (that's why it reaches the pandemic level) so definitely the vaccine will take a lot of months before it was made. I doubt even you implement a sports tournament with minimal staff and players, it's safe already. But if the WHO or world health organization found a temporary solution for COVID-19 then maybe they can implement the sports competition. Also, if the confirmed cases per day slow down, I guess we can go for the (b).

The Bundesliga is the first of the top football leagues to comeback and it seems everything went fine, so this brings hope to the fans of sports that many more leagues will comeback during the next months as we slowly begin to see a reduction in the number of cases and deaths related to the virus, still we will have to be very careful because if people relax too much we will see a new spike and sport events may be cancelled again even if most likely public will not be allowed at stadiums at this time.

No doubt with that since they have seen that Bundesliga succeeded even on this current situation which do shows its still possible to resume up but of course they would really need to follow strict compliance to avoid the spread of the virus since we know that we are on the middle of pandemic situation then its just normal to have those measures to be followed on.Hopefully we would really see other sports would take this step and resume up games because its been a while and we missed too much into those sports that we've been following on.Vaccine is needed but it looks that this would really takes time.

Sports like basketball, volleyball or anything that can considered as contact sports are still prohibited because it against the social distancing. We can only hope that the sports event will be okay, and the social distancing will really apply in that event to protect people or staff who involve in the tournament. But I don't know if its a real news or not because I heard that in June, football will reschedule the events or will start again after its delay for some time. If that happens, I hope that every staff can be careful, and have a big concern to prioritize the safety of the people or the players. Not just the U.S. that is still trying to find the vaccine because many countries still testing the vaccine before they can provide safety to launch the vaccine to people. I am sure many people will be saved once the vaccine found.

If we were to wait for the vaccine to be produced then we will be waiting for so long. We cannot pause the sport industry for this reason - there are a lot of money behind just imagine that the whole gambling industry is supported by sports industry. If sports are stopped a big portion of the world's economy is stopped.

No one knows when will be the vaccine be made but the event can be moved at all time because this is manageable . I dont think there will be vaccine for the next months so sports event maybe conducted via online viewing ,and without any live fans watching. and maybe this will help https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5249297.0 according to the thread is the FOX will provide computerized sounds to make crowd for the events.

Yes, vaccine first. We are all in a financial problem this past weeks and I bet those businesses are being hit hard. They can't afford to keep on wasting money to test players every game and also that is time consuming. Worse, all the profits from pay per view or however they will broadcast it will just be for test kits for the next game.

The very much games or sports that we can only gambling with, which is also safe for the players is through electronic games nowadays that are really popular. There just a need for their fast Internet to no t be in trouble in their playtime. Soon, esports will find way or may have ideas to still grew or operate their service amidst this pandemic.

It takes so long for the vaccine to produced but as announce it may available probably next year. Vaccine first before anything else for the safety of the users. Some business industry suffering bankruptcy because of this pandemic, so, the best options above is staying home and can do the sports events online.

Its NAY! lol I'm almost sure the computerize crowd sound will have more issues in the view of the fighters, they could just agree to have the three judges there and the teams consisting a number of witnesses to the fight, referee, bouncers and the covid guards all these are considered crowd already.
