Few changes base on my own observations to be implemented on bitcointalk forum

Greetings everyone, I believe we all are safe at our ends regarding this COVID19 pandemic. Now a few opinions from my own side of observation to be implemented to Bitcointalk forum are as follows:

1. LEGENDARIES REWARDS OVER QUALITY POST
Regarding the sending of Merits which took place on a daily basis between two higher ranks over the post which are quality post on the forum, I will want theymos to implement a different method to appreciate them, rather than them having a huge amount of Merits but they are still legendary members which will be just waste. Which this example: like create a locked thread in the form of a giveaway. Now, this won't be a day to day giveaway, it should be something of over 4 weeks (1 month) they submit links to their quality post they have made over the month and they will be crossed check before the giveaway is done. Or they should be retried?

2. MERITS:
 On the side of Higher rank members like the legendaries who are the overall rankers, I think theymos should appoint the Carrie's of Merits, who are there to Merit newbies and other low-rank members in the forum. this case brought about this post I made read here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5246113.msg54389071#msg54389071) to see what members said over it. Which I have this thought that comes in this form that, they have to make a submission of their post just like that of the legendaries but in a different locked thread which will have the tag in this form: (legendaries QUALITY POST GIVEAWAYS for the post made over the month) and for the low rankers ( Low Rankers Merit GIVE-AWAY for the post made over the week).

3. BOUNTY CAMPAIGN TASK SUBMISSION:
Theymos should implement a rule to every BM ( Bounty manager's) that every BOUNTY project that is to be done on bitcointalk forum should adopt to the method of making use of GOOGLE FORM for reporting of social media tasks. This doesn't include the (post of authentication) on the bounty thread or that of signatures. In this act, it will keep Bitcointalk clean and as well give a good look to one's account in the side of how you have contributed to the forum. Let's not die in silence, we all should have each other opinions (discussion) pertaining changes we likely need to have so we see how we can take BITCOINTALK to a rebranding level.

I chime with #3, it is a very good suggestion as such that Bounty threads now create such a huge amount of bounty spam posts on bitcointalk. Mandating or issuing out a rule to the Bounty Managers to adopt "Google Forms" is something that will make impact to bitcointalk forum as a whole. Nevertheless, kudos to Bounty Detective Team who has adopted this method. I think it is helpful!

There is no need to complicate the merit system. There is no lack of merits. Restricting merit sending to Legendaries won't result in more merits sent to lower ranks. Lower rank users posting more quality content would result in more merits sent to lower ranks.

That's just make more complicated than merit system it is, because after they create post/thread, they should submit their post link in a form. It will make them work for 2 times and only wasting their times.
Don't need to worry if you or any newbie didn't get any merit, the problem is only one "quality post". Just try to create a thread/post with high quality, you will get a merit from somenone. Or maybe you worried if many merit source is out of smerit isn't?

There are 98 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 21671 sMerit per 30 days

For me 21671 is very large number for sMerit, and I see many merit sources didn't out of smerit or ask for more smerit ( only a few merit sources ask it ). It mean they still have smerit and can merit a post who deserve to get it.

I will want theymos to implement a different method to appreciate them, rather than them having a huge amount of Merits but they are still legendary members which will be just waste.

It's will not be just waste if legendary member get huge amount of Merits, because he will get 1/2 amount sMerits too...  And he can merit other user post, right?

No need to blame the existing merit system at this time. and there is no need to limit shipping of merit to Legendary Rank.

there are still many merit sources available. Even low-level users can easily get meri if they make quality posts and of course there is feedback that must be given as well.

Merit will not come from the sky, It takes effort to do. Complicating the rules for granting merit will only add to the work of bitcointalk developers.

Meta and Reputation seem to hold a dense distribution of merit but a sensible hypothesis would be that the other prominently "active" boards are often filled with posts of substandard quality. I doubt many would object to my disappointment in the * [dD]iscussion threads, nor would they object to a cleanup of the Altcoin boards.

If users started posting better-quality posts and threads (not those generic read-title-reply threads) then perhaps there wouldn't be such a lack of incentive to delve into those boards. Speculation and Economics have started to improve, but only just slightly. I still actively go into those boards to seek out spam, not to seek out quality posts.

I really go with what you said about using the Google form as a means to report task in BOUNTY CAMPAIGN. Just like what Bounty detective BM is doing I will urge other BM to adopt to this method. That's if theymos will look into this matter in future.

I guess #2 has been brought up over and over because people want to join signature campaigns ASAP.

What suchmoon mentioned is pretty clear; Merits are still given to constructive and informative posts, regardless of ranks.

I've seen several members that have quickly climbed the ranks from Newbie all the way to Member in less than a month. While they initially were curious and inquired about the Merit System, they took advice and learned from there. That's how things work around here.

In my opinion the merit system works just fine and there's no need to complicate it with all the suggestions being thrown around. It is not possible to find a perfect system, especially in a decentralized forum such as this, but the merit system is quite effective.

I agree that merit system should be as it is now and base on previous posts that the result of your opinion would only be a waste of time, more work to do and making it complicated. No one wants to do things that are waste of time and making things complicated even if it's not complicated as it is.

If there is no proof of authentication then anyone can join into any campaign by inserting any random UIDs or other social media platform and they will replace the payment address to their desired one that is why proof of authentication was introduced in bounty threads.

But bitcointalk already have some rules regarding this, if someone report their bounty tasks on threads when it is not needed which goes against the forum rules and they also get temp ban.

Merit sending is subjective, what you are suggesting is bit too much.

I believe you are only driving to the topic of not posting trash like off topics or let's say like topics that don't bring any good impact to the forum. I think there should be a system to help fish out scammers, reporting tasks with Google form has nothing to do with people to re-put names in the form. Form has this option where by you put your forum name and the link to your Bitcointalk profile and with the links to the task you have done so far. Even proof of authentication is there to show who and who is participating in the bounty.

Being a legendary rank with many merits proves that the member is a high-quality member. It is not only about the number of merits, but we can see that the member gives many positive contributions to this forum, and it is much appreciated. And for this, we can also know their reward or appreciation on the BPIP website, where there are some medals with different categories, one of them is the rank of "most merited".
Submitting posts and checking to get giveaway? Who will do that? There will be so many posts and should check the posts submitted? We may not imagine how many posts will be submitted for this. And the reward of that giveaway? WIll be BTC? Or what? Who will give the reward? I still do not have any idea about it.

Probably complicated and will make the works so long to check one by one the posts. I think that the merit system right now, how they give and get the merits are already fine and no problem when there is a qualified post, give merit.
Additionally, there are actually some merit giveaways that will give you merits for the members with some certain rules. And the members should check regularly on the Meta board or Beginners&Help board. You may find the merit GA over there.

I think that every Bounty Manager has its own standard and rules related to this. It will depend on each BM. But well yeah, I also think that it is better not to see the social media reports on the thread or someone posts. It is actually better to submit it via google form as you say. I agree with this. However, sometimes, some moderators may need to up their bounty thread, and submitting the reports on their thread every week probably one of the ways to rise up the thread again and again.
