How to be invested in Crypto while staying away from gambling?

Let's say I have my bankroll of $1000 for this gambling session, and if I lose it all I will stop, and if I double it I will stop.

There are some factors why people get addicted to gambling and how some were able to cope up but your issue is quite different probably it is your perception of the value of cryptocurrencies versus the fiat money. But you have mentioned you are a believer of the crypto world but you may try asking why you couldn't afford to lose a fiat on your gambling activities unlike with your crypto, you might be a believer of crypto space but not accepting it same as how you value your fiat money. If you will include gold or silver on your gambling concern like gambling with your gold, fiat, or any cryptocurrency which of these you can afford to lose? I agree with you but by chance cryptocurrencies offer several magic features. Like private keys, multisig wallets and time-locked transactions... So if you really aren't able to restrain you from spending your cryptos in gambling, you can use those features to help you for that.

In my experience being a cryptocurrency investor and poker player, I had experienced the ups and downs of being a cryptocurrency gambler in gambling sites but my rule of the thumb is simple and very basic - only allot a certain percentage for gambling and always save your winnings for the losing days. I don't spend my crypto in a buying frenzy whenever I win big in some game. I put my winnings and calculate what I had lost versus what I have profited. So I end up not really losing but always have the money to spend and end up winning more and profiting more. If you treat gambling like a business then it is not hard to accept loss since you already have calculated everything.

I've been around the crypto scene since pre 2013 pump. Been around blackcoin pumps, pinkcoin pumps (all the color coin pumps), all the country-coin pumps (remember those?), every shitcoin known to man.

I even knew about ethereum (commented on page 4 or 5 on their announcement thread) and was a huge believer in the project. .....but instead of sending btc to their ICO site on a summer day in 2014, I sent it to nitrogen sports with the intention of making more btc to send to their ICO.

Throughout the years, I've done similar things with various alts: Monero, dark-coin (DASH), Cardano, you name it. I had them with hopes of holding onto them to watch their value grow...but couldn't...and gambled it away with 3AM challenger tennis, random soccer matches, or baseball over/unders (though, when I go on a binge, I actually start off pretty damn well, but get tilted the moment I lose a few times).


I'm a big believer in the crypto space but it's difficult for me to hold coins without gambling. The thing is, I have no issue controlling myself when I don't hold crypto. I could go to a casino or wherever and not have any urge to bet with fiat. Idk what it is about cryptocurrency. I just get so into certain coins that I want to make more so that I can get a bigger stack to hodl...but then by trying to get more the quick way, I lose it all.

You man a cap that when you lose all these say lose about 1BTC a month you stop gambling and then after a month you will once again have a budget of 1BTC. We don't see that everyday. I would only regret betting the coins I have spent if I see the sum of them all in the spreadsheet. I'd rather not and forget the ones that drained.

I already stop for months now, I just need to prioritize things that is really needed specially during this lockdown. So I agree with avoiding faucets, its kind of a trap. However, its true that some players doesn't even need faucets to gamble. If you are one of those, you should prioritize and focus on your goal when it comes to crypto. If its investing then research on how you can fully utilize aspects in investing. Don't even think of trying gambling. Don't click adds, avoid reading about those too good to be true ads. Well Faucet is really good source of capital in gambling but OP is asking how to stay away from gambling and not how to earn without capital thats another story.

Gambling is such another thing that we need to play while there are sites that offers us to invest in them so you don't need to play to earn(but of course there are risk as well)

A huge sadness he will get if he list his all losses on spreadsheet so much better if he just keep the record off since this thing will cause another harm or depression, If we want to stay away on gambling then better for us to not visit any gambling sites since if we continuously do this for sure we will forget the urge to gamble anymore and we can focus on other things especially for investments.

after tasting higher stakes betting it's not a trill to play with small stakes! Simple explanation behind that, more risk equal more excitement. In my country they say "Mother didn't cry because her son is a gambler, she cried because he was trying to win back what he lost!" I lose and win, and I don't care for the money I deposit for gambling. If you wish to win you need to try, without trying you don't have chances for nothing.
