I agree, Not every one of us can make the recipe works for us. We do have different attributes on ourselves and some strategy does have a requirement of our personal traits like being patient, having a cool when the game is not going into the plan, and many more. Sometimes the environment is also a factor. Though this can give us experiences that can lead us to become a successful gambler someday. It is actually the same as the investment, no guarantee to take profits even if you have applied some strategies. But in investment, it is mostly about strategy and skills. While in gambling, sometimes you need luck factor to be successful. There are skill-based games and luck-based games in gambling. there's no room for emotions on gambling table! In poker emotions will show what cards you have, are you weak
or strong, poker is not for emotional people.

People aim to be professional gamblers because it's a matter of entertainment or passion for them. It's like an online game, even though you aren't guaranteed to be a professional pro player, you still aim it because it is your passion. Gaming is one of your passion that makes you happy in your life, and at some point, it's a stress reliever.

In games like poker in which you are playing against another player and not against the house the casino could care less about who wins and who loses, if you are playing in a tournament then they keep a portion of the money that each player used to buy in the tournament, and if you're playing for cash the house keeps a percentage of each pot that you play so they are obtaining profits regardless of the winner and the losers, but if you are playing against the house like you do in blackjack then you can be sure that they are monitoring every single one of your movements and if you are using a strategy like card counting to obtain an edge over the casino you are going to eventually be thrown out of the casino.

Every gambler has their own way for playing and everyone is different than the others by their thought and playing style. If you go to casinos just for entertainment and to spend your leisure time then you don’t need to be a professional.  but if you want to take gambling as your profession, then you must need some extra knowledge about it and you have to spend a lot of time to acquire that kind of skill. In this manner, being emotional and able to manage your emotions productively, i.e. give your impulses a direction, is a by far better option than lacking that moving force altogether. For me, betting (not gambling in general) is not really different from trading. It's just a common mistake that people want to place many bets in a day even on a match where they're not sure who will win the match.
Not only that, if you lost a bet, sometimes you will be triggered to try to recover as fast as you can, even on the same day.

This can make you broke if you cannot find a match that you believe in but still insists on placing a bet.

Sure there is no 100% control/win in betting except on fixed match but money and risk management, also emotion control will be the answer for that.

I don't think realization of one's powerlessness might help in everyday life. Gambling is important, but it should work in completely opposite way, in which such realization is beyond thinking of inability to control something. It just allows you to make fewer mistakes, whether you are powerless or not. If you are, luck is likely your only hope and chance. If you are not, you should take advantage of what powers you have.
