JiJieHao will face the toughest opponent in the group. I think Spirit will defeat their opponent. We can already say that JiJieHao will be waiting for their opponent in the lower bracket. It should be safe to say that Spirit will advance from this group to the semifinals.
On the other hand, I think Aurora will be the team to advance from this group to the semifinals. Our representative will face BIG in their first match. XANTARES will go head-to-head against his former team. Although it will be a tough match, I expect Aurora to come out on top.

On paper Spirit should win, but there's always a small percentage for them to fuck it up. Only two wins are needed for them to advance, and the best opponent they'll meet from the other match is barely a threat, with both Luminosity and GamerLegion currently on a decline.

I'm surprised how BIG got placed over there, and then the other three are thrown into the fire by having to face Vitality, Spirit, and Falcons.  

They're also my early pick in the first round, only because i'm not a fan of the odds from the other matches. The bookies are like testing Aurora here, but at the same time i'm not sold on BIG's clean run in the qualifiers.

Before TI officially starts in the next day, I'll be putting an early bet that I might add another one during the tournament. While it's been a trend to the dota 2 community about topson's standing in with LGD, I have decided to take one map for them at least to win against Team Falcons. Falcons might not give them a mercy but don't belittle the 4 in chemistry of LGD + topias.

It's also due to the new format and the first match of the group stage being a bo1 so it's a slippery slope if they get rolled badly in the first half.

Not sure which map gets picked here, but it should be their match to lose as long as it's not Ancient, Cache, or Inferno.

The ESports World Cup matches will begin today.
Our team, FUT, will face TYLOO in their first match. Since it’s a Bo1, there could be an upset. I think FUT should win, but TYLOO could pull off an upset. Now that lAUnX is gone, xFloud’s adjustment period should be over by now. FUT still has a strong roster and should beat TYLOO. Since Krabeni is an IGL who contributes significantly to frags, I’d say FUT has the advantage in every match.

I completely overlooked it, my mistake! I thought the Aurora - BIG match was a best-of-3, but it was a best-of-1. Aurora lost on Cache, a close map, and Aurora isn't good at Cache. Even though Wicadia tried their best, they couldn't finish the map. That's the downside of best-of-1s. Think about it, even Team Spirit lost.

Our team managed to win against FUT TYLOO. It was a close match, but I’d say the FUT players performed better. It’s at least heartening that while one of our teams lost, the other won.
In my opinion, one of the most surprising results of the day was Spirit’s loss to JiJieHao’s team. Donk finished the match with 23 kills, while Shiro couldn’t reach double digits and ended with 8 kills. On JiJieHao’s side, almost everyone performed at a similar level. It doesn’t make much sense for a team like Spirit to lose to a team that’s so much weaker relative to their own strength.

Also Topson will be playing at TI this year with LGD, I can’t wait to see his action today, expecting Topson can bring something that will shock Team Falcon and make your bet win

I was hoping it wouldn't be that map, but they probably thought it was worth a gamble since BIG barely played it. Anyway, losing this early for Aurora might've been for the better because whoever loses on the BIG/G2 series meets the winner of Spirit/LG in the lower bracket.

It doesn’t make much sense for a team like Spirit to lose to a team that’s so much weaker relative to their own strength.

Like everyone's saying at this point, their coach is holding them back with his game plan. I used to think it's one of those bad days for them, but now it's clear that he's overcooking behind the scenes and the management needs to realize that before they lose their best player.

Also, TI kicks off in less than an hour and I got this three-leg parlay to test the favorites and see if any top tier team gets stunned on the first day.

G2 managed to secure a victory against M80 on the Mirage map. AWPer r1nkle made a significant impact in the match, helping G2 secure the win. Although both hunNter and MATYS had a rough match, r1nkle’s performance played a major role in the victory.
The Falcons secured a comfortable victory over K27 on the Dust2 map. It’s worth noting that m0NESY put in a strong performance. Thanks to the AWPer, who didn’t let the opponent get a foothold, the Falcons had no trouble securing the win.

Yes, the first matches were all BO1 but the rest are all going to be BO3 until the grand final - which is BO5 as usual. I also had a free time to watch the game.

Aurora started well but it didn't take them too long to make simple mistakes. The coach ash also said that they even started some rounds without a plan. Like they were playing a FACEIT game instead you know.

This isn't good... However our path is easier now. First M80 and then JiJieHao/GamerLegion if we move on to lower finals.

Xantares seems to be playing better with the current roster he probably feels more comfortable. In the M80 game, Xantares contributed significantly to winning both maps with high frag rates. I always wonder if it would have been better if Dede hadn't left. That question always comes to mind when I see Kyxsan's frag contribution is low. As long as the team wins, Kyxsan's low frag contribution doesn't matter; after all, he's running the team, his goal isn't to kill people.

Congratulations, you're also 2-0. I am avoiding to make a parlay and will continue to do single bets. And my LGD bet for at least one map, topson didn't disappoint. 
I've won that bet and I did an additional bet for Parivision against Team Falcons.



My next bet, I haven't decided if I'll add to this one tomorrow. The first day is intense and fun.
