Greetings all, have been on bitcointalk forum for the past 3 year's and it came to my notice and I believe to everyone who has been here for ages before me, would love to have a notification tag shortcut on the homepage of Bitcointalk forum. This should give Bitcointalk a different look and as well to easily up the stress of going through each of the following threads

1. Bitcoin
2. Economy
3. Others
4. Alternate cryptocurrencies
5. Local

Likewise all that, newbies will have this different sight of the Bitcointalk forum. Since we have the HOME, HELP SEARCH, PROFILE, MY MESSAGES, MEMBERS, MORE and LOGOUT shortcut already insight: NOTIFICATION (0) or NEW POST (0) whichever tag will be good.

This is just my own suggestion, I would love to have your own opinions over this. Thanks

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Its' not a good idea to receive notification for every new posts. You will have hundreds of notifications if you don't visit the forum only for few hours.

You can use the link below to see threads including unread posts.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unread

If your purpose is to not miss new topics in specific boards, you can edit that link.
For example the link below will give you unread topics in bitcoin discussion and Economics.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unread;boards=1,7

It would be really nice to have a shortcut which links to all the threads where my post has been quoted/ or if someone has mentioned me using @. I know "Show new replies to your posts" exists, but that shows replies unrelated to my specific posts, and its a pain to go through all those posts.

It'd helpful to have the feature but I also see idiots misusing it and @-ing people just to piss them off. It would be cool if only higher ranks like Hero and above only get the option for @-ing people, and to get a special section to see @-ed posts.

Notifications about what? If you are talking about replies in specific topics or when someone mention, quote or merits you, there are Telegram bots that do that. Including my new bot that will probably be released soon (beta testing is open, if anyone want to PM me. I believe it has some cool features. Roll Eyes) #adtime

Kinda unclear what Tim is even talking about.
Aside from checking all unread posts/threads (which sucks) there is the option to check for new topics within specific boards by clicking on the (new posts) icon next to boards with new content.

Irrelevant parts snipped - pugman is on about users prefacing other users' names with an @ sign and the creation of a native system for the forum - the @ will often trigger notifications from individuals who use notification bots which is why excessive use can be frustrating.

Are we talking about most recent posts that are being replied ?

Because as far as I have seen we already get preloaded feature at the bottom of forum where recent posts are shown.

I’m talking about this . . .

Of course having notification button at the top would be good feature but it won’t be different than the above snapshot I believe.

With every refresh that footer changes. It does most of the work.

I agree with this. Maybe the forum would do what the OP suggests, they will just simply move the most recent posts (so98nn 's snapshot) onto the notification page.

But have you ever heard that we also have a Telegram bot? See link here: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) - in which if you watch a thread or a board of your like, a notification would be sent onto you. Seems kinda the same as what you suggests yet a much better option than having a redundant page in the forum. It also features ignoring topics and even other users.

The biggest con with your suggestion is that, it already exist and would depend how and how often you use the Most Recent Posts feature.

This is essentially exactly what Loyce's notification service does: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5209773.0

Is this located on the homepage of the forum, or all through the forum? I will put in my eyes out to see how this will help. But to me if this feature should be considered it will definitely be of a different looks on bitcointalk forum. For newbies to even go through everything in a simple click.

Exclusively on the index page, unless there's another secret page out there. The problem is, you need to first start ignoring boards to cater to your specific interests since I'm sure most people wouldn't like seeing constant bounty spam in the "recent posts" section.

I'm still not entirely sure what you're after: you want a notification for when boards are updated? One has the ability to notify their email address when a new topic is created within a given board and if you're looking for purely newly-unread posts, then the image option I explained above should work perfectly fine.

What else do we need?
