OP, calling on your attention. I don't what happened, I can no longer get notifications on telegram from Bitcointalk Notifier Bot. Can you check it out. 
 Damn it!!! I missed my favorite threads to catch up with 

I thought it was from my telegram app which made me run an update, didn't know some other forum members also have same experience. The forum can be boring sometimes when you don't get notified of mentions and threads that you are subscribed to. Hope TryNinja rectifies the problem when he comes online because the Super Notifier Bot has really made navigating the forum so easy and it looks like am missing something when i do not get notifications.

Yeah, experience of using forum without notification bot isn't same, I'm feeling a bit limited now. Now I don't know how I used forum in past when there was no such bot.
Downtime doesn't happens for the first time, probably not last too, but don't worry, I think it won'ttake much time to fix it.

Turns out someone connected to my ollama service and tried to download (and use) a bunch of LLM models, so my server ran out of space.

I don't think it was a personal attack. Since the AI boom, everybody is running ollama services to use large language models and they are exposed and unprotected by default, so there are bots trying all ports on all servers they can find, and I was just one of the victims.

To be fair, I did know my ollama service was exposed, but I was too lazy to fix it and thought it would be fine for some people to use my embedding model for free while I didn't go that hard on AI.

Turns out they tried to download 1+ terabyte of models. Bad guys!

Now it's protected as it should, so only my services can acess it.

I don't know if anyone else here has noticed that the activity of phishing attackers has increased significantly in the forums in the past few days, especially "[ANN] [STRS] STRONGS Coin - kHeavyHash | PoW" and I think this gang is currently resurfacing as "[ANN] Mulierum | POW | GhostRider".

If I'm not mistaken, we get over 100 phishing thread, notifications , every day due to tracking several boards on notifications bot. And this is really disturbing for me.

Now my questions are, is there any solution to keeping the boards on tracking and also  not getting notifications of these phishing thread?(Note that- They were creating new thread with new accounts every time )

I've implemented an extra spam check which should limit this kind of spam.

If the notifications start popping up again, let me know and I'll think of a few more solutions.

As per my observation the last notification from the "Mulierum"  on 04:06:04 PM^UTC and till now I didn't see any notification from these kinds of thread, so think it's working

Since 2025-05-04 my bot has removed over a 1000 topics related to Strongs/Mulierum. It's been crazy.

New update!

When you're quoted on a post, you will now get notified with the reply to your quote (before, you would see the beginning of the post which might not be relevant to you).

This makes it easier to understand what the context of the post is (i.e what someone is replying to you).

If it's a regular mention (not a quote reply), the old behavior remains.


For example...

Let's say someone makes this post where they reply to someone first (satoshi's fake quote) and then to me on the second part of the post (my quote):



Before this update I would see a notification with the message directed to fake satoshi, because it's in the beggining of the post:

💬You have been mentioned by XXXX in XXXXXXXXXXXX

Benfica does not play at home. The Portuguese Cup final will be played on neutral ground. The game will be held at the Estadio Nacional in Lisbon...

Now I will get this notification, with the message directly replied to me:

💬You have been mentioned by XXXX in XXXXXXXXXXXX

I believe that Benfica has a better chance of winning than Sporting, but I think they will no longer have the right motivation to do so...

Honestly, I just noticed this update now — and not from your post, but through the notifications in the bot itself. It’s a great update, and I’d been really hoping for it, even though I didn’t quite know how to properly phrase the request for such a feature. I actually suggested something similar in the  Little things that bug you/me about the forum, thread which is not the one specifically about the bot, but I’m glad to see we were on the same page about the need for this functionality.

Did you know? SuperNotifier V2 has sent at least^* 5.900.570 notifications to 1289 users.

^* I'ts actually more becaue of some old issues with notifications tracking

+ 1555 topics tracked
+ 339 different users being followed (tracked)

As expected. Some notifications aren't sent like some users got quoted or mentioned but never received notification in the bot so I would say that the notifications sent should be more than that and also, total of users that received notification may be around 1k but each user will get mentioned many times so there should be more than that.

I'm posting here because this is my first time experiencing this kind of notification using BitcoinTalk SuperNotifier V2 and I'm sure it's not a bug, but rather the same person posting the same content.
Hope the mentioned account is not engaging in any activity that could result in account getting tagged.

That's correct. Both posted the same thing (1, 2), and one of them deleted it. It looks someone forgot which account they were using. This belongs in Known Alts of any-one. Both look like shitposters who barely earn any Merit while posting a lot for their gambling signature.

Definitely not related to the Notifier Bot. If it's only happening on Telegram, check your proxy settings in the Telegram app:

For Apple device:
Go to Telegram > Settings > Proxy – make sure "Use Proxy" is disabled.

For Android device:
Go to Telegram > Settings > Data and Storage > Proxy Settings (scroll down) - make sure "Use Proxy" is disabled.

If that doesn’t solve the issue, then it’s likely malware on your device and that would be a different story. Try this step first.


Another thing try to Disable Telegram’s In-App Browser:

Try opening links externally to see if the issue persists.

Go to Telegram > Settings > Data and Storage> Others (Open Links in)  - Change from Telegram to any other Safari/Chrome (Apple)

Go to Telegram > Settings > Chat Settings > In-App Browser - turn it off. (Android )

Was still observing before making a conclusion.
It hasn't shown any ads ever since
Seems it had to do with the browser I took as default.
Realised that after turning in app browser off. After checking that my proxy was already disabled.
