I got many double notifications this week. At first I thought that user posted and then quickly edited post and that's why I got two notifications but then I got so many double notifications that definitely there is something wrong there.

I also had the same issues, but I did not report it. That means all bot users were affected by this (got double notification).

This doesn't happen with merit though.

I got double notification for merits in the past, where I had to use /setmerit. This time, I noticed I didn't get a notification for a merit I received. So I had to adjust it again. What I noticed is the day it happened (I didn't get merit notification), the BPIP extension was giving wrong info as well. So, I guess all scrappers were affected.

That's what Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email is for. If you really hate your privacy, you can of course use any third party bot to forward your emails to Telegram, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I don't think it's necessary. I use a android device and I always get the notification when I receive email from forum. I can even read the message if sender is not a newbie. I don't think someone should combine a bot with their email to get instant notification. Gmail works fine for me.

I hope under your personal message options you have set this : Notify by email every time you receive a personal message: Always. Use an email client or app on your device that syncs your emails any time there is a data connection and you will receive instant notifications from bitcointalk.

I fixed an issue one week ago, so I can't tell if you're just reporting something from last week or if the bug is back.

Unfortunately I didn't took any screenshots, because I though it may be telegram bug or network issue. Hence the delay and repeated push notification.

Hi TryNinja, I'd like to know if editing our replies with a mentioned username re-notifies that username? I tried to edit my own reply with my username mentioned, but it didn't notify me. Does this apply to other edited posts with mentioned username as well?

You can't notify yourself.

For others:

If someone quotes you after editing the post within 10 minutes, you don't get notification for it?

They have 5 minutes to include your name, otherwise there is no notification.

For instance, If I get mentioned in one thread a lot but I don't care about responses in that specific thread, is there any way to mute notifications only for responses to me within this thread? I tried putting the thread in ignore thread but it didn't work. Let me know if testing is required, I'm willing to help as needed.

I have not tried this feature yet. But I would like to try as well. Now, I am going to ignore two threads including this one. Please mention me in your next post so I can test if it works for me or not. If it does not work for me, too, I guess it's a global issue, and then we can ask TryNinja to fix this.

Edit: I have added two topics to my ignore list. I will update you if it works.

Well for anyone's information, seems like I made a mistake by not pressing the *Add new* button when I was trying to ignore my own thread. This made me think it didn't work.


I figured this was probably my mistake. I did now and it seems to have worked as intended.

Is it possible to track a user mentioning only some specific word? What I am asking it is an intersection between the "Tracked Phrases" and "Tracked Users" menus.

Not currently, but I've wanted some kind of advanced notifications for a long time (something like: all posts by user X, on the board Y, with the word Z). Maybe I could work on it.

I have also still having an issue of merit notification miscalculation. Before it was notifying me ahead. That is if I got merit and the total merits in my forum account would be 1120 but the notification would be given me 1121. And because of this malfunctioning, I disabled merit notification for one week and able it back again and now the notification is below and not ahead again. Example. If I get a merit add it to the present merit in the forum profile. It'll will be 1175 but the notification will indicate that it is 1174. So the two side are not match and I don't why the notification and the my merit stat is not tally.

There is no red line anywhere on my notifications and there shouldn't be.

I couldn't see any line on my monitor (only the far left side of it, which is bright red), something about its contrast?

All I can say is don't mind it as I think it doesn't have to do with the bot and maybe it's from telegram settings or something. I also checked mine and didn't see anything red like the one shown in the image you provide. That's what I'll do if it were me as I have explained that you shouldn't get bothered by it and don't mind it. There are theme you can choose in the telegram settings and maybe that's also there ( I didn't check all of the settings).
