Because China is so rich that they can buy the entire Africa, they can buy the entire existing technology, they can invest into best new talents, they can invest into 5G, 6G, 7G, they can build the best spaceship with all the income they received from tax money.

China spend the income tax they received from new apple iPhone sale to acquire new technology, buy poor country, buy young talents, funding educations, funding new technology. Also income tax from many major US based tech company that operate in China, they all pay tax to China government like an overjoyed lapping puppy.

Everyone wants to see that their money is in good hands and the taxes they are paying are being used in an effective project. Trump knows its consequences and I’m sure his administration also aware of this but it doesn’t mean they’re poor. We need US to be strong in terms of military because a lot of countries depends on them and since China is too aggressive, maybe bigger countries have to be more prepared for the worst.

Countries are ally in terms of businesses, and since the production cost in China is cheaper, many companies choses to work with them and of course they have to pay taxes since they worked in an international soil. I believe in the money, China is very rich, very huge, it can buy the entire globe with tax money collected, and apple is the 17th biggest gdp by country on it’s own, that’s $1.2 trillions just way behind US total gdp of $20 trillions. That haven’t include activision blizzard, Tesla, Toyota, McDonald,... many US, Japan home grown giant who love to pay tax to China government, although they’re far less valuable than apple.

the big draws IMO are very weak (basically nonexistent) unionization, lack of regulations (like environmental ones), cheaper raw material costs due to scale and sourcing from china itself, faster internal supply chains.....

trump did lower the hell outta corporate taxes, bringing them closer in line with china, which should make USA production more attractive. both countries allow for extreme corporate tax loopholes anyway though so i'm not sure how much of a difference the 2017 tax cuts made.

During the colonisation era, you really don’t want to be living in the country that’s getting colonised by the external forces, remember the Japanese colonisation? The nazi colonisation?
