This is what you should read first OP, just read and understand the guidelines and rules of this forum so you would know what are the wrong and right things to do here. Every forum has it's own guidelines and beginners should read all of these to avoid some violations. If you want to know something, just use this search engine, just toe the keyword of what you want to ask. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FO4h5Ioy.jpg&t=663&c=QqHsRFhWAxN4ew)

Hello welcome to this forum, actually we don't have the boards to introduce ourselves, but if you want to do so, you may include it on some of your threads. If you want to familiarize yourself with this forum try to read and understand some useful posts here on this board. All of the information needed by the beginners are all posted on this board. This is what you should read first OP, just read and understand the guidelines and rules of this forum so you would know what are the wrong and right things to do here. Every forum has it's own guidelines and beginners should read all of these to avoid some violations. The search engine is really great when you want to ask something, you don't need to ask for it anymore, if you want to know some information, use the search engine and if you don't see any answers on your questions then feel free to ask for it.

Good advice about the search engine, the search engine is really helpful for us whenever we want to know something.

I'm reading stuff to understand how everything works [...] thoughts for a newbie?
You started in best way you could. Reading stuff and understading Bitcoin is first priority. Then after you know enough focus on security. Securing your Bitcoin is as important as knowing how it works. Then you are good to buy/explore and invest. You should come here 3 years ago, a lot people only read but have a chance to get into conversation is crucial for understanding sometimes. Welcome!

So best to get a big knowledge on every aspect so that you can use that knowledge when there's an opportunity knocking on your doors.

-snip- oh I mean I'm reading to understand how the forum works, I'm not new at bitcoin and cryptocurrencies but I don't have like a big knowledge, I'm just a regular cryptocurrency User ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Hey, dude! Welcome to the forum! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You said you're a regular crypto user and you started using it 3 years ago. I'm sure you already know not just a thing or two about it, huh. But may I just ask, if you have been using crypto for that long now, why haven't you joined this forum before? I'm just curious. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Anyway, visit and read all the links they provided before this reply. Just by doing that, you'll surely get familiar on how things go around here. And don't hesitate to ask questions. There are so many good forum members here that are willing to help out. Again, welcome and enjoy your stay! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Start with rules and regulations, many newbies got themselves kicked out because they don't know what's wrong or right on this forum, then start contributing to the forum by helping those in need, in any aspect, mining, trading, investing, this will open your eye to new things too

Welcome to this forum. This forum (especially its members), will be very happy to help you if you met any difficulties in understanding rules that apply in this forum. Unofficial Rules can be found in the following thread. Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ. One thing you should avoid (ie = absolutely you should not do). Never do plagiarism. If you quote a sentence in your comments and that quotes are from another website / from another member in here, ALWAYS include the original link in your comments. Plagiarism is very intolerable in this forum. Btw, you already know crypto and started using it since 2017 NICE !. If i may know, what kind of wallet that you are currently using? Is the hardware wallet like Trezor, or is it Bitcoin Core Qt, Electrum?

For your self-introduction: You can make it there ReputationSome most important things you must spend time to read and understand it as most comprehensively as possible, rules as some users gave you previously. After that, I have some more helpful resources for you
