For having fun yes I agree but throwing away extra money is not a smart choice since there are many many ways to spend that money like traveling to another possible destination next summer. Here's my simple perception on both games, dice and slots. With dice, you can easily determine your luck because of knowing the probability of the outcome depending on the number of dice, in slots, you might not know how many objects are there so you can't basically determine the probability of winning. But both of these games are built especially for beginners in gambling, you don't really need to calculate the probability as long as you are enjoying and you see the game giving you fair game plays.

I think that slots are way better than dice because of their payout structure. Lets say you are hunting 99x in dice, in this hunt you will not get paid if you hit 98x. But in slots things are different and you will get paid for every hit though you are aiming for jackpot.
I know that most of the slots pay like 80-92% of what goes into slots but still if you compare it with dice (specially hit and run method) it is more profitable in long run (although in long run you will eventually loose in both games because of house edge)

I don't think so because with dice you might survive longer with the same bankroll maybe because of the smaller bet amount but I have been a frequent slots player and if you just have little luck on slots on your day then you can actually profit much more than dice because with dice your winning amount is known but in slots you might be hitting the jackpot anytime. I was playing Snake Arena slots (recently added by stake) yesterday and it is just so much fun to play around these new games added by stake because they feel much more realistic although they are not stake originals and hence there is no provably fair system as far as I have seen.

I always love provably fair games but they have limited interface and sometimes non verifiable games are much more fun.
