I want to send 0.00056082 BTC to another adress, in my balance I have 0.00150371 BTC. No matter what fee I try to put, it "maxes" my balance. So if I put 40 sat/byte for example, it only lets me  send 0.00113091 BTC and whenever I try to change it, it corrects itself back to my max... Any fix? Smiley

For clarification, the amount changes whenever I press "send". Therefore I can't send the amount I want..

I also just noticed, by changing the "Fee Estimation" setting, to ETA, it instead maxes the transfering fee to 150+ sat/byte, which is way too much if I just want to send small amounts such as 5$. This I also can't change, which leaves me being able to only send 0.00001903 BTC, which is not even close to my 0.00150371 BTC balance.

What version of Electrum do you have? Try mitigating your problem this way: Select 'Tools' -> 'Pay to many' and fill 'Pay to' like this:

Code:
destination_address, 0.00056082
any_of_your_addresses, !

'!' should force Electrum to spend all the remaining funds after deducting the transaction fee. By the way, your transaction should get confirmed in the next few blocks even if you set your transaction fee to 4 sat/byte right now.

Well I still have the problem where I cannot choose the amount, even if I put exactly what you wrote (obviously after putting in the correct adress etc) it still changes back to the absolute max. I am running 4.0.0, which I believe is the latest? Could it be because my balance is divided into different "adresses"? If so how do I fix it? I'm very new to this and after 10+ transactions this is the first time running into this issue..

That's the problem. 4.0.0 hasn't been released officially, yet. The latest official version is 3.3.8. You have downloaded a fake version of Electrum (a similar case). Uninstall it, scan your PC with Malwarebytes (reinstalling the whole OS would be safer, though) and download Electrum from the official website. You should also verify the signature of the installer to see if it wasn't modified or replaced.

Where did you download Electrum from? Do you have your recovery seed? If not, you will have to export your private keys before uninstalling the fake version.

Could it be because my balance is divided into different "adresses"?

As long as the funds are in the same wallet, you can use coins from multiple addresses in a single transaction.

Did that link appear when you tried to send a transaction? Versions older than 3.3.4 are vulnerable to phishing. Malicious servers are still tricking users into downloading a fake version. New versions now have built-in update notifications which can't be forged because the update messages are signed with a hardcoded Bitcoin address. Nevertheless, you should still verify the installers according to the guide from my previous post.

You should consider your wallet and PC as compromised. You should create a new wallet and move your coins there.

Yes I think it might have actually, can't remember exactly. When I scanned my pc it found 2 supposedly malicius softwares, and I removed both. Also uninstalled the wallet, but I never put in any 2 step verification codes or such in the old wallet, so they shouldnt be able to do anything with my "new" wallet, am I correct?

Since you are referring to 2FA, I assume that you are using TrustedCoin service to co-sign your transactions. Even if your wallet file was uploaded somewhere, it is completely useless because of 2FA. Since you were about to send some of your coins, you could add another output spending the rest of your coins to a new wallet anyway. It won't cost you much and it will ensure that your funds are completely safe.

You must clarify the bolded part above it seems that you didn't understand what BitCryptex said above.

Do you have a 2fa verification from your old wallet?
(I just want to clarify this)Electrum 4.0.0 is considered as the latest Electrum(This is the fake one)

So what you mean is you didn't put 2fa codes from your old wallet? Which is below Electrum 3.3.4?

If your old wallet is not generated with a 2fa code from Electrum, it means that you are using a standard wallet?

You can recover your wallet if you have a backup seed or wallet file. Do you have both of these?

Make sure before you make a move if you don't have a backup seed(It's a 12-word phrase), make sure to get a copy of the wallet file.
You can find it from
Code:
\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets (or %APPDATA%\Electrum\wallets)

And save it somewhere safe.

Now, I suggest you better to install Electrum to a new PC or newly formatted PC and install latest Electrum from https://download.electrum.org/
Then transfer the wallet file on the wallet folder the same as the location path above. Or import the seed phrase if you have the backup seed(it's a 12-word phrase).

Then update here if your balance still there. That's why I ask this because many people who victim with phishing or fake Electrum after they install the fake Electrum all of their funds are gone.

I understand that what I wrote doesnt really make sense, but what I tried to explain was that, I never put any 2FA codes into the malicius wallet and as I have removed the software and installed a non malicius version, I should be fine? Whatever the case I barely have any funds left and way too lazy to reformat my pc to get a new wallet at the moment.

As others mentioned, make a new wallet and move your funds there. Maybe do a full cleanup just in case there's another malware lurking somewhere else. You shouldn't be lazy if it's about security. Especially if you have a lot of money.

That being said, have you verify that the 'nonmalicious version' is the official one and not another phishing apps?

Does your wallet actually say "[2fa]" in the titlebar?

If it does, then your funds should be relatively safe, as there is nothing a thief can do without your 2fa codes. However, if it doesn't, and you just have a standard wallet, there is a chance that the malicious version could contain a keylogger and have sent your wallet file/seed/password to the hacker.

In any case, the fact that you downloaded, installed and ran a "malicious" version of Electrum means that it could have been laced with any number of viruses/malware such as Remote Access Trojans (aka RATs), keyloggers, screengrabbers etc...

Unless you do either a full system sweep using AV/Antimalware software or, preferably, a full system wipe and reinstall, then you can't really be confident that your system is "OK". Undecided Whether or not you're comfortable with that risk is up to you.
