“Cryptocurrency: An Enforcement Framework”, released on 8 October by the US Department of Justice (DoJ), is an important document for anyone with a project in the open finance field. Despite what in all likelihood will be a Biden presidency, DoJ is not expecting to change its stance markedly with the change of administrations when it comes to cryptocurrencies and non-fiat banking. Thus, the document gives guidance for how the new administration will determine the legality of a given project.

As mentioned previously, we at Tagion are taking a long look at the framework, and we’ll give our views on it by examining each of its three parts.

Since DoJ focuses mainly on the legality of any endeavor, titling Part I as Threat Overview is not a surprise, and it reads somewhat like a SWOT analysis. There is little rah-rah! enthusiasm shown for crypto. Likewise, there is no overbearing fight-to-the-death imagery from the sword-bearer of the fiat system in America. This document is a cold-eyed look at the threats posed to the current legal system after a dispassionate overview of how the technology (mostly blockchain-oriented) works. There is little new, but there are examples given.

Moreover, DoJ does point to legitimate uses of crypto. As Securities Exchange Commission and DoJ statements are of vital importance to the industry, including to us here at Tagion, the following statement is of the utmost importance:


Whatever the overall benefits and risks of cryptocurrency, the Department of Justice
seeks to ensure that uses of cryptocurrency are functionally compatible with adherence
to the law and with the protection of public safety and national security.

I have a feeling they are just getting aboard to hijack the whole space once they have full control of it. Take a look at the intrusion from PayPal. We all know how PayPal can restrict users funds for very long time. I just hope we get to know the clear terms of how this will benefit the crypto industry. I feel we are giving them the power again.

Feeling is mutual mate, Obviously team can share any information about such partnership with Etoro with regards to listing on its platform but hey we've been here for quite a long time to know how most of these connections lead to. I am keeping an eye on this thread to see how this project unfolds considering the fact that the real world seems ready to be enveloped into the crypto space

I get where you are coming from mate and in as much as I am happy about this I don't think there should be any fears with regards to this. I mean, let's test the waters and see where this takes us. Most crypto enthusiats have always been hoping for real world adoption and now there are plans in the pipeline to adopt it. I would say the crypto community opens up and and embrace this change as well.

Currently, as the coin is not out yet, it is all about potential. But then again, that is why the SAFT contracts can get you a long way for a small amount.
The main advantages in comparison to e.g. Bitcoin is in the governance and the tech.

Tagion is build to be a 'lean mean transaction machine'. So the throughput per second, processing speed, and energy consumption are superior to other networks out there. Also, the governance hinders the centralization of power with big miner farms or other organizations.

As the only thing out there yet is an AlphaOne test network, the sales of SAFT contracts to private, European investors have been based on the trust in the team and their ideas as outlined in the Whitepaper.

... and again as the value of Tagions is so extremely low it will not take a lot of value gaining for it to be a good deal.

Not sure why Yonni has not announced it on his own Twitter. Maybe because the conference only has 500 special invite people attending (so people can't come and join anyway.) Maybe he is too busy? Maybe he wants to go as a more 'private' person? Not sure.

The Agenda for the meeting will be Gal talking about money in a historical context. Yonni will cover the philosophy of money and Theis will talk about the more technical details of a monetary system in general and decentralized networks as Tagion is special

I'm beginning to pay attention to this project. They have an experienced CEO  which is a plus for them. Being in the midst of top personalities like  Yonni  makes me believe they have the necessary partnership to bring this project into reality. It's a long shot but I believe we can all contribute to the success of this one like we did for bitcoin.

I want to know when do you plan on running any node test more especially an incentivized one.

I will see a video of this talk later, see what is really the best of this project, so far I am still learning a little about the concept of this tagion and waiting for its release soon, at least understand how tagion works, there is still a lot to learn, Is Tagion the same or different from other altcoins

In principle, Tagion is an altcoin. The part where it is set apart from other coins is the fact that the complete network is built from scratch by the team. In this way, we have been able to optimize it for token transfers. This also means that we have an independent network that is technically superior to the first generation of networks, e.g. all block-chain based systems. The governance system also benefits 'one-person-one-node' and prevents power centralization. We will soon update www.tagion.org and hopefully tell the story even clearer there

This really caught my attention so I decided to visit their website https://www.menaexpo20202.com to see if there is any social handle to follow this on but there is none. However, let's not really make a fuss about the style of the organization as this is an offline meeting being held by high ranked profiles in the technology industry. There are equally many meetups that are kept from public eyes for some reasons I do not know but I don't think we should hold MenaExpo so tight with their style.
