I am not having any doubt about ethereum to test again its previous/current ATH of $1000+ because it will be easily getting value when bitcoin will be gaining more value. I mean in terms of fiats ethereum will definitely have a value above $1000 also but if you ask in terms of BTC value then I'm not sure about that. Because, unlike 2018 currently ethereum is having a lot of competition to attract investors.

By considering all these ethereum cannot be the investment of the future but it should be one of the asset we must consider to have in our portfolio for the reason of the diversification. Probably the version 2.0 of ethereum might be having some potential to think about it in different manner but it will be too early to assume anything about it as of now.

For me eth is the best altcoin to invest in specially for long period. I've been holding eth for few years now and already take profit many times when the price is increasing. Its a reliable altcoin and next to bitcoin thus advisable for newbies to have a portion of it to their portfolio since its a well-established coin.

Why not? Ethereum shows so much advantage than the other altcoins. Since ethereum is already established, the trust of investors to buy and invest this coin is already been good. I have few ethereum that is still holding in my wallet, it never failed me actually because I benefitted many times from investing into it. But, do not close doors to some other altcoins that has also potential when it cones to it's significant jmuse or as an investment, too.

For all the development it has been doing over the years and the upgrade to Proof of Stake for Ethereum has been the hype of the year.
I have seen many people being optimistic about the Ethereum upgrade.

indeed ethereum can reach 3 large ranks of cryptocurrency in circulation but you have to know that the ranking is not always maintained because I still doubt that ethereum can definitely be an investment in the future because ethereum has an unlimited supply means that everyone can have ethereum with the amount a lot and the possibility of price inflation that could make ethereum collapse. at least if you want to create investments in cryptocurrency you must have a very limited supply of coins.

There is no such a thing like number 2 or anything. You must need to analyse what potential and possibility for a coin/token to be performing in future. When we go blindly just because of top ranking coin in coinmarketcap then definitely you will end up highly disappointed.

You're not the first one I am seeing but most people here are just following coinmarketcap for making their investment decision. That is definitely not a sensible act a crypto adopter can do. Ethereum may perform well in near future at the same time I'm not calling it having definite future. So, investing only up to the level of affordable limit is always recommended when investing with any coin including ethereum.

Well, from a practical point of view, you are absolutely right. Each cryptocurrency has its own price limit for growth, and we always need to remember and use this. Here they write that they hold ethereum when this coin had a price of $ 100, and a price of $ 1,600. It would be better to use price swings and at least partially sell them at the estimated peak prices. Agree! Even though ETH is developing dramatically due to effective plans. However, its price on the market is still affected by BTC. He was saying about the possibility but as far as I know the price of ethereum can't leave from the domination of bitcoin. It's just caused ethereum will get a big update and it doesn't mean ethereum will leave from the bitcoin's domination. It will never happen.
