- DT1 Eligibility has seen a sharp decline in the past year
That's (at least partially) because
the criteria were changed just over a year ago.
Ah interesting thanks for sharing, wasn't aware of it. Good job I'm only analysing the stats and not the causation

Do we have a list of DT1 eligible members who have been excluded since this update? Is it possible to get some data on that? I assume this mainly only affected the March 2025 data point when 12 members were excluded (with 15 less eligible in total). I'll put a marker on that data point if possible. Since then it's continued to decline by another *checks notes* 18 members from 121 to the most recent low of 103. I'm assuming that's not 18 members no longer eligible due to the changes, but could be wrong, as I otherwise don't see "4 different people send them merit in the last 4 years" as changing much at all, based on the activity requirement alone. Active DT1 members who continue posting would achieve that with ease I'd assume. Unless another dozen or so DT1 members have been banned that is....?
My other theory –
not backed up by the statistics – is that the reduced eligibility has in fact likely caused an increase in centralisation despite the statistical analysis above, but that's just a theory for now. It's one based on former DT1 members (who are no longer eligible due to inactivity) having less DT1 members generally, due to being more "old school" members,. Likely unintentionally with inclusions becoming inactive as part of a sort of feedback loop. Whereas newer DT1 members are more likely to have a higher number of DT1 members included. Not easy to prove statistically either without directly comparing trust lists. One chart I realise I'm missing is the cumulative growth of all-time DT1 members, as I suspect that has started to round off / slow down now (based on the eligibility chart alone). For example I noticed only 37 new members became eligible in the past few years since previous update. Will have a look at adding that one.
