this is bound to happen at some point, the awareness of crypo keeps increasing and getting bigger, many now prefer to use btc in transaction than to use fiat which is not surprising, looking at the growing number of the crypto community, PayPal would not want to miss out on such opportunity, the earlier they start to accept crypto in their system the better it will be.

If this comes true, we're happy that we are first than them. It's still a rumor so don't rely too much with those news but it's okay to have a small hope that it's for real.
As for the news, it's said that they are hiring crypto engineers that can work for this integration. The fees will be much higher if they're already on it because they're a business. And as far as we know, they live with that while crypto itself is already good with smaller fees.
They will earn from the mark up fees.

I am sure that we can introduce cryptocurrency to Paypal users and try to use cryptocurrency.
The adoption process will grow since many people use Paypal for the transaction, and if they can use crypto as the alternative payment system, that can help crypto grow.

Then they have crypto payment already. PayPal is famous and we can just see how they so eagerly wanted this. Maybe if its just a rumor, then in the future we can see it happening. If that's the case then bond of cryptocurrency and blockchain will go stronger and spread outside some merchants and maybe they will follow through. But this rumor could not make the market bigger in just an overnight it is a learning process and it will always takes time.

Not really, Paypal will just allow users to buy bitcoin using paypal. They probably with partner up with some crypto firm.
They are doing this not because they think "crypto currencies are really good". They are doing this to generate revenue through the fees that they will be taking from the users when they purchase through paypal.
And if paypal is going to make a online crypto wallet, that is going to be a wallet that no one should use. Paypal likes to freeze your funds.

That's welcome news it could have not happen if the Libra coin push through, and the market is strong even in the pandemic, Paypal announcement will have a big boost in the market in the coming weeks, once implemented it will contribute to the surge of price of Bitcoin, so far this is the best news after the halving and the pandemic.

Other than paypal news we also had an exceptional news of 40 plus crypto based companies teaming up to provide a payID project for the ease of crypto payments. The main aim of this project is that common man can be able to use crypto easily for payments and transfers in easiest way possible. AFAIK, Payapl will close your account if they found that you are related with crypto currency transactions then how suddenly they can change their mind and support crypto? I don't think this is really a true news. But adoption is taking place among the people since covid 19 people wanted to save some of their money and cryptos become one of the best option for them to choose to save their money.

You will get into trouble with PayPal if you use it to exchange currencies as you can see on their Acceptable Use Policy, but I'm not sure whatever that means. If I'm right, it should be that they do not allow you to purchase Bitcoin, Monero or any other crypto using PayPal. But you can use a few services such as Braintree or Coinbase to accept BTC payments AFAIK.

It's not news coming from PayPal directly, but different sources did confirm they're looking to integrate Bitcoin directly in the PayPal platform (see this article). But I'd be happier if it was found out to be a false rumor than if it gets confirmed. These news only further confirm my earlier fears that Bitcoin will only become more centralized and farther away from Satoshi's Whitepaper.
