The site still works? many people know dont about bitcoin.com forums, the only popular forum is this one.
Poor promotion by that ver made many people buy bch and she thinks she bought bit[Suspicious link removed]gle has said responsible for that because it shows the forum as the first result when you search.
Does anyone know the reason for the closure? Some legal? Or is it a new game?

If your predictions become true (he is seeking ways to get out of bitcoin completely) this will be disastrous for bitcoin in the short and mid term.

It will be fine in the long term but the recovery might take years. If the rumors were true, this dude owns thousands of btc, then he can pump and dump again it for a long time.

Nah man, Bitcoin isn't even going to experience the slightest of damage. How can a dead forum shutting down even impact bitcoinin the first place?

1. Bitcoin.com is mostly a forum for big blockers(bitcoincash people).
2. Bitcoin.com's forum has been on a downtrend for years, and is only on it's last leg.

Yeah the forum was effectively dead with no discussion or new topics. Even the BCH people prefer reddit over that forum.
Bitcoin.com though is giving conflicting information about bitcoin and calling bitcoin as BTC=Bitcoin Core while Bitcoincash as bitcoin. And many new users are getting more confused on visiting the site.

Mostly I'm just hoping that many of the people who have been banned from these forums over the years (who probably only came to terms with their bitcointalk ban because they had that other forum to fall back on) don't suddenly try to sneak back in here with new aliases now that those forums are closing.

Stay vigilant on the plagiarism reporting, as I suspect they'll be back to old habits if they do try to return.

A very abrupt announcement , bitcoin.com forum apparently closes on July 23 !! The news was provided by the admin on 24 June. Till the date there is no specific reason so as why the forum is closing..

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoincom-forum-closes-on-july-23
Lol if they decide to shut it down, that’s their business. I have not even used that forum for once in my life, I have only been making use of the bitcointalk.org forum ever since I got into this. So, I am not worried about the forum that is owned by Roger Ver. Any other thing that is not Bitcoin but has this name attached to it, to me that’s just a scam. The real one is simply Bitcoin and nothing else. And FYI, this news will not affect the cryptocurrency community or market in any way, it’s still going to keep growing.

Considering how popular the forum is plus it was actually started by an early adopter of Bitcoins I do think this is not a beneficial step for the community.
Honestly, this is surprising me; how you claim it is popular? Could you link me any useful topic there? Like anything on trading tips or how to choose a perfect wallet for bitcoin or any altcoin was announced and became successful or coinmarketcap has any references to that forum for announcement of any coin/token/exchange?

Definitely it is not beneficial nor loss to this community. We have 100s of crypto forums and this must be one of them.

They didn't announce anything but just close it abruptly they might just be back with new features like what cryptotalk had been doing. I was there not long ago in the forum but I'm not registered user something lead me there upon searching something.  I woudn't be surprised if they also incentivize BCH for posting there if the forum will be back later. Forum is a good way to get more traffic to businesses. I wouldn't give it if I were on their shoe.

but this forum havent incentivize post before  ? sorry not familiar with this forum but i only heard little things about them  .

paying bch is better than on any other kind of altcoins like what yobit's crypto talk did , they only pay with thier altcoin now .  its only a bad move if btc forum shuts down without any warning  because some people there might have an important business  and thier forum account was important for them    . hope they return and explained what happen

I checked it again I saw they will close it by July 23.

It would still be good to get their data like how Loyce collected here in bitcointalk.  Maybe for records and reference, the history of the two forums and the battle would be gone forever so it would be best if its documented and everything besides there is information of the users there and here.

It would be good if they close whole Bitcoin.com, not just forum. It's described as one of most popular crypto forums, but c'mon, look at it, it looks like ghost forum with minimal activity there. It's not popular at all, so probably there is not many reasons for Ver to keep it. They will focus on other platforms to promote BCH.
Though, Ver said that this message was posted without his consent and they aren't going to close forum. https://cointelegraph.com/news/oops-roger-ver-says-bitcoincoms-forum-closure-post-was-premature
But message is still there...

According to Similarweb.com,Bitcointalk.org has around 2.28 million pageviews per month, while Bitcoin.com has 3.3 million pageviews per month. You can check Similarweb.com,if you want.
I'm not sure how accurate the similarweb data is,but I was kinda surprised of the results.
Bitcoin.com seems a little bit more popular than Bitcointalk.org,but that's because of the better domain name.
Bitcoin newbies would trust a forum called Bitcoin.com more than Bitcointalk, unfortunately.
What's weird is the monthly traffic of Bitcoin.com increased from 1.9M to 3.1M views in February-March 2020.This is because of the pandemic,I guess.
I doubt that big part of these millions visit Bitcoin.com. Most of them probably goes to News.Bitcoin.com or using their exchange or wallet. So, we shouldn't be surprised about big number of visitors on Ver website.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was yet another marketing stunt.  Anything for attention.  Whether it remains open or not, it has always been dead to me, heh.

IT doesn't have any users (old or new) or created any quality discussions. Plus since roger ver is up to bch, then maybe a bch forum will be made from that domain. But yeah, that forum has been running til this time and have lots of history as well, maybe an archive of the whole forum will be available and saved.

Roger Ver probably just trying to create some buzz as I'm not sure there is a bigger attention whore in the cryptocurrency space.  Personally imo it would be a good thing, Ver after all claims to be censorship free which is complete bullshit so it's not like his sites allow for open, honest and free dialog anyhow.

A very abrupt announcement , bitcoin.com forum apparently closes on July 23 !! The news was provided by the admin on 24 June. Till the date there is no specific reason so as why the forum is closing..

if we look at the lack of popularity that this forum has in recent years and the things that its owner has done in recent years we can conclude that the best way was to close the forum. But I believe that it will not affect anything ex bitcoin jesus because he is a very well established businessman in this market and it is also to be praised that he has changed a little on his news site, I see that on news.bitcoin.com they are posting news in a neutral way (I would even say there is more news about bitcoin)

Considering how popular the forum is plus it was actually started by an early adopter of Bitcoins I do think this is not a beneficial step for the community.

the forum is no longer popular at least from what I see

I'd never visited that site, to be honest. And it never bothered me for their closure as it never gives help to the crypto community, instead, it poisoned the mind of readers. There is no sense to continue that site and have it alive for they can't also attract the interest of the community.

No other than great over the forum we have and this is a learning tool for the crypto enthusiast to continue their journey. If those readers and followers with that site Bitcoin.com will find https://bitcointalk.org/ site, they will surely find a way to transfer without any hesitation.

Expect for new members? Not really sure of that unless they find comfortable doing this unlike they do in the other site.

In fact, news of closing the forum cannot affect the use of crypto, as many users do not like to join the bch forum, But many users prefer our great forum bitcointalk because it has the best reliable users around the world. It can also be said that Roger no longer has an effect on the digital currency as before, I think he bears a red mark on his forehead! Grin Cheesy

Before I went here on our forum most of the time I make research is always the bitcoin.com is the highly recommended with the Google it is active on that day but nowhere is the new is already close I think they are not to hold their platform and also the domain they have which is the bitcoin.com

Bitcoin talk is one of the longest-running platforms which is still there are a lot of active users to maintain this forum and also even the moderators and admin so there is no reason if it is going like bitcoin.com lol.

If they notice that there is a forum like this, our forum is very open to the people who want to learn and also who want to contribute to our forum too which is good but still they cannot escape the world of the merit system to make a rank up.

Ever since I first got involved in crypto, the place I heard of the most was always bitcointalk. I used to come here for knowledge in the crypto space way before creating an account and eventually participating and I'm sure many others did. Like other commentors, hadn't visited that forum you describe, was it any good compared to bitcointalk?

He'll try to auction the domain in no time that's what the premonition of my crystal ball. Though he has the domain that can be easily consider the real thing that doesn't mean he has the advantage people already know that the real bitcoiners isn't on that forum, it is here.

LOL, good thing my early year I haven't been in that forum and what has been suggested in me is this forum instead. If it would affect the price that will not be on the disadvantage on the long term imo or it will never did.

I don't get this. Bitcoin.com would be shut down? In what manner?

In a manner that is not too painful. It is simply like willingly removing the life-supporting tubes attached to a person who is on a permanent comatose and is brain-dead.

Quote

Definitely not a huge problem, not even a problem at all. The contrary would be more problematic; having the site continue to operate while spreading lies. That is going to be more damaging to bitcoiners. That is going to be more dangerous to newbies.

To be honest, I have never heard of that forum before even if it's Bitcoin.com. I doubt that there's a lot of Bitcoin users there aside from BCH users. He will mostly sell this domain to the others if this close fully. But we can't be sure yet as this news came (https://cointelegraph.com/news/oops-roger-ver-says-bitcoincoms-forum-closure-post-was-prematureout) so we might expect a reversal.
