As I have said from the start, the core team will not seek listing or attempt to be listed on any centralized exchange. That being said, if an exchange chose to list us on their own volition, obviously that is something that we don't have control over, and therefore could happen.


-ANN- version 1.5.0 - completely different sync methodology, choosing best chain prior to sync, and MUCH more - MAJOR UPDATE NOW LIVE

The auto-update for version 1.5.0 was issued today - this version includes a completely different methodology behind the synchronizer code, and much more.

We will be updating the links on the various locations as soon as the full release on GitHub, including the windows installer, etc... is finished, we might need another day for that.



Current network users will automatically update - anyone on an older version that is behind the auto-update block will also automatically update.

Github release right now has just the qortal.jar file, if you choose to update manually, you can simply replace your qortal.jar with the one on the GitHub releases page.


You should only need to update manually if you downloaded the old version, and bootstrapped PAST the update block. Which I don't believe there is currently a bootstrap that is past the update block, but yea. If you sync from scratch, or sync from a point prior to the update block, you will update automatically.

He is correct Crowetic, the Qortal website shows <meta name='robots' content='noindex, nofollow' /> in the source. This means you are telling search engines not to index the website.

-ANN- New Qortal Core version 1.5.1 released - new consensus kicks in Sunday May 9th!

Auto-update has already taken place - if you are on the old version and running you will update automatically. If you are on the old version and bootstrap past the update block you will need to update manually. All links on website and ANN have been updated!

We are really stoked about the new consensus, and I've also come up with a way for the Trade Portal to have a 'buy side' AND reduce the amount of AT processing necessary by quite a bit.


More details will come soon on those points.

As the title mentions, the new version 1.5.2 of the Qortal Core has been officially released on Github.

The auto-update will be approved shortly by the required number of developer signers, and take place soon.

- Rework of the repository export and import functions - fixes recent trade portal issues
- Tightened up the synchronizer, in order to reduce the number of 2-5 block re-orgs
- Bumped bitcoinj version from 0.15.6 to 0.15.10
- Fixed price API so that it uses the last 10 trades only. Previously it used EVERY trade that had ever happened.
- Added optional "maxtrades" parameter to the price API, to specify a number other than 10.
- Added new "minPeerVersion" and "allowConnectionsWithOlderPeerVersions" settings to ignore or block peers on older versions
- "maxRetries" moved to settings
- New /blocks/byheight/{height}/mintinginfo API
- Fixed exception that could happen when syncing from genesis
- Reduced frequency and level of some synchronizer logs.
- Added AT count to block debug logs.

Everyone is already aware that the Gen 1 QORTector didn't go as expected. Everyone who paid for one in the pre-sale, got 500 QORT (which is already worth well over what they paid, essentially double), a pre-leveled minting account at level 3 (which would have minted them quite a bit more on top of the double-refund), and they will be getting a Gen 2 device once we're done establishing the company (which I will be doing within the next week now that we're finally back on top of things after all the nonsense.)

So, if you're going to come in and vomit in a thread with a bunch of nonsense, maybe pick one where your nonsense will at least be PARTIALLY true? I guess, unless you LIKE looking like a total tool. If that's the case, totally up to you to continue doing so.

I am not sure what 1.5.4 has to do with running on a VPS, but more power to you if you want to run another node on VPS along with your Brooklyn-powered Pi.

So for the current time, only the Qortal Core will auto-update. You will need to update the UI MANUALLY by downloading the installer for your OS and performing the update... until we work out the UI auto-updates and re-enable them.

2. The Qortal Core will always auto-update via a group-signed transaction by the on-chain developer group. That will continue.

3. You may notice the development 'speed' will be picking up here in the near future on both the Core and the UI... this is because of some awesome new contributors who are now helping with the project. We are forever grateful to these new contributors! Any other developers who would like to assist us are always welcome! Remember QORTAL IS A COMPLETELY COMMUNITY-DEVELOPED AND RUN PROJECT AND ANYONE IS FREE TO CONTRIBUTE IN ANY WAY THEY CAN!
