Doing an essay on Bitcoin, need ideas

Hey there everyone, I'm currently finishing my diploma and have to hand in my Extended essay. My topic is going to be Bitcoin(Comp. science) , although it seemed like a good idea at start , the topic seems to be quite too narrow. I have to research about Bitcoin, what part of it should I do the research on?

I don’t think this is going to be a difficult thing, since I don’t think they are going to require you to go deep into this.
How about you start with a paragraph that explains what Bitcoin is all about, the year it was created and the person that created it. And apart from that you can go into the advantages, how Bitcoin has been your community and things like that. Then you can find something interesting to close the essay.

I don’t see much that’s required, you can go through Cointelegraph where they explained everything about Bitcoin from beginning to end so you will understand what I mean, something that summarizes that.

It won't be a hard thing to do for you and that's for sure since you have already got your experience working with Bitcoin. On doing your essay, you just have to put in your own experience working with Bitcoin backed up or supported by factual information which can be gained from the internet since there are already data and information about it online.

Start up your essay on introducing what Bitcoin really is just to let your reader gain their interest on continuing to read the whole essay. Make it catchy yet simple to be interesting. Put basic facts on when does Bitcoin is established and other basic facts that you think people must know as introduction of knowing what Bitcoin is, just like the first time you know it.

Since you are studying computer science, this will put you up having technicalities involved which surely you do already understand how it is done and just put up how Bitcoin works and can be used. Apply your field on explaining the essence of Bitcoin's existence and how computer science can make use of working with Bitcoin and I think that was already enough for that. Bitcoin is not at all a narrow topic lol. There are many points you can cover such as:
Decentralization.
Inflation rate.
How it led to creation of altcoins.
Working process of bitcoin and about its ledger system.

That major points was already discussed by other users here maybe we should suggest another unique features and topics about bitcoin.

Altcoins: As bitcoin is the most widely used cryptocurrency, these altcoins are really an alternative source of profit in them market if bitcoin doesn't have any movement in its price.

But still always prioritize your bitcoin as it really matters the most compared to other coins.

6. Conclude with how it can be a very useful tool for the current and coming generation and how it can totally change the way of economic.

I like this idea. This is so true, on time, and of course futuristic. Make this as a highlight at the end part of your essay. Most of us now depends on online now and for sure they will like this new idea if they would read this kind of thing. But of course, you have to include that bitcoin is risky. It is not just simple as they may think it is.

In the introduction of your essay, you should tell them that bitcoin is risky so that they will not be worried at the ending of your essay. Tell them the advantages and disadvantage of bitcoin in the present and especially in the future so that they can make plans and they will have foresight to become prepared about the future of bitcoin.

From my point of view, if you are making an essay about bitcoin. You can start from making an introduction about how and why bitcoin was created with blockchain technology because here they will know the purpose and uses of bitcoin. After that, you can tell about the risk or advantage and disadvantage of bitcoin because here they will realized if buying bitcoin would be worth it in the long term.

Exactly. For more than four and a half years, that essay could possibly be finished. Such amount of time is more than enough to create one.

But, if there's someone who's also into writing about bitcoin, those ideas from almost half a decade ago and the present ones might come in handy for him.

I think you should buy a book about bitcoin which include  a complete package about bitcoin so that you can start your essay from the fundamental aspect of bitcoin then going through the significants aspect which is the  economic and blockchain technology.

Everything is on google and you will find a lot of articles about it from which you can take ideas and take advantage in writing your essay.
