The only reason why EOS and Tron is popular is due to the congestion on ethereum network and it's relatively higher fees. If these issues are addresssed with the new update, people would not even look at EOS and Tron which are both controversial coins with higher degree of centralized control. Ethereum is one of the most decentralized coin and that's the reason why it still holds the number two position.

We are all waiting for this. I have waited long since the bear market and also fled from that. The price starts to increase and I've been there at the bottom, so it's ok for to me to wait again for another run if there's a chance for it to get up.

If you are starting to just invest on ETH because of they hype then you are too late. You should have bought it when the price is still very cheap and preparation of their ETH Testnet and I'm sure this is the main reason why the price broke it's $250 big psychological barrier for many months because of this news. Now $300 will be the next target if they can release ETH 2.0 this October. So the excitement has just began for ETH and if they can keep track of their schedule maybe before the end of the year, $400-$500 will be within grasp.

Will this be the case like what happened to halving Bitcoin where price predictions were very high but have not yet been reached? Many experts predict the chance to make the market of ETH increase in certain percentage. Of cours,e it may have chance for it. however, it is no need to only pay attention or believe at all on the hype and also price prediction. Once you lay in the price prediction, you may hurt when it doesn't fit yet.
Personally, I also expect that the ETH testnet will really bring benefits and also easiness. Glad I positioned myself according as not a level I'd currently want to buying right now. Kinda wish I'd sold my spec alts into ETH instead BTC now for an extra 20% then back into Bitcoin, but at the time it felt a bit too speculate. This kind of seems like a fake pump to me. People usually tend to pour money into a coin that has a fork or has some other update on the way. But it has happened many times that people have always been disappointed from the latter outcome. The market tends to run on the hype rather than actually potential. And I think that is what is happening to Ethereum right now.

The testnet has not even been launched yet and the coin is already up by 10%. We don’t even know how it is going to go, is it even going to be successful or anything. We are all just assuming and predicting things on the hype created.

I think it's time for ETH to wake up from sleep and show that ETH can stand alone without having to rely on bitcoin.

I think Eth became one of those coins that's quite easy to sell a bit when over-extended, as well as buy a bit when oversold. It's been in a wide range for the past year (against BTC) and became clearer this year that it likes to pump 60%, then dump 25-30% within this range. It's now pumped 60% again since recent lows, so selling a bit makes a lot of sense in my opinion. Just maybe not too much of it, as if BTC dominance doesn't bounce back soon, price could really take off (though I think this is still unlikely).

I've been accumulating for the past 12 months personally (mainly with BTC). I'm also never trying to "buy the bottoms", just buying near enough to the lows, or at least below the mid-level, in order to maintain a market weighted position in my portfollio. It's been a lot easier to accumulate than Bitcoin that's for sure, none of this broadening descending wedge nonsense! Just an easy going parallel & horizontal channel. While the 2 year USD range of $100-300 is pretty wide, it's at least been pretty reliable to buy when low and sell when high too it seems, for those who think fiat profit is real at least.

Until it's breaks above $385, price is still at resistance though USD wise. It'll be interesting to see if Eth can hold it's 200 Week MA around $265, or fall 40-60% like the previous two attempts. This will likely be dependent on whether Bitcoin can hold $10K and move higher or not I guess, but either way, an 80% discount in price is always more advertising to me than a 50% discount, in something I believe has a lot of room to grow. Hence the ethbtc chart being always more relevant to me, especially given the higher lows on the Monthly chart for the past 5 years, it difficult to argue from a charting perspective that it doesn't have more growth potential - mainly because it's only half the age of Bitcoin.

I'll likely be looking to sell a small amount of Ether soon enough into Bitcoin, as there are is a confirmed sell signal on the Weekly TD Sequential, as well as waiting for BTC dominance to dead cat bounce back upwards in the short-term. This will likely cause Ether to have yet another healthy 25-30% correction in order to re-test long-term resistance trend-line around 0.025 btc. Either that, or it's next target is around 0.04. Hard to tell at this point.

I'm also not convinced the announcement of the testnet has anything to do with recent bullish price action. Ether has been screaming a buy on both it's ethusd and ethbtc charts for weeks now, to me it seems clear that the technical probability of further upside has played out, with enough speculators predictably jumping on the bandwagon.

I am glad to see the power that Ethereum shows. Two years ago everyone said that Ethereum is old without any future, that it will be replaced by Tron, EOS or NEO. Now look at these all Ethereum killers and who is really killed   .

If only people looked at the technology and potential of a coin instead of following the trend and acting like herd of sheep, many coins could have had taken the place of ethereum long ago. Coins such as ADA, NEO etc are way advanced in terms of technology and ease of use. They just lack mass adoption as not many people know about them and what they have to offer.

We will see if ethereum has something worth offering with that launch of new testnet and could rightfully claim the altcoin throne that it sits upon. Also, we fail to notice that even ADA is surprisingly up by 12 percent. I guess more coins will keep us surprising in coming weeks as this crypto space is slowly getting into bullish mode.

I am also pleased with the rise in the price of ethereum, since some time ago I exchanged my tokens received as a result of participating in ICO bounty campaigns for more than a dozen of this coin. I was hoping for a price effect from introducing Ethereum 2.0 improvements to this coin. It looks like this is starting to happen. Since July 21, I have seen a good rise in ethereum from $ 236 to the current $ 317, although its price has already climbed to $ 327. Hope this is just the beginning.

unfortunately some time ago the price of cryptocurrency collapsed in the beginning of the price of bitcoin which collapsed after that ethereum and other altcoins were affected, I think there is a whale that uses this to sell part of its assets when prices rise, and stay alert hopefully DeFi can restore cryptocurrency to high prices again.

The Etherum price went up pretty strongly today.
But on the other hand there is so much traffic on the ethereum network, that transaction fees are just crazy at the moment.
Ethereum 2.0 really needs to come pretty quickly and it should work. If you have to pay 50$ fee for making a trade on uniswap then it's just insane.

$480 price already broken and the ethereum dominance keeps increase even more. Im glad to see that but the tx fees look so crazy this days as I must be a few dollars for a very very small txs with only less than $5.

The number of staked goethereum in the network is also increasing a lot.

i may think ethereum 2.0 will be the next evolution for ethereum.
