Ethereum is 5 years old today!

The 5th anniversary of the launch of ETH is a very important milestone of this coin and hope Vitalik will soon announce 2.0 news in the next few months.

They should hurry because most of there major competitors like Harmony(ONE) are already started staking and soon will solve scalability. If One tps is greater  to ETH v2.0, That will give a problem to Ethereum investors because this upgrade is the hype everyone waiting which only result to a greatest upset due to some New project beat them.

Reminding that ETH was already 5 years makes me feel regretful again for not buying it when it's price was below 50$ even though I have huge stock of BTC that time.

What I've heard is that we're very near to it.

I'm also regretting that I'm a fool and didn't believed on ETH on its earliest days and the price that I'm able to see is also below $50. Those were the days that the price was totally low.

I think the ETH (ethereum) trend has really good through unity. The 5 years in service is good enough to play better in our community benefits, eventually, if this digital technology continues it can ease all transaction better.

Ethereum had long way to go it needs to compete with bitcoin dominance of market. It needs to lower its gas prices, Tho one of the top 10 coins/tokens out there I still think theres some project better than ETH did for 5 years.

This is interesting ! so in just five years Ethereum has gone this far. i still remember in early 2016 when Eth was less than  20$  yet i didn't  buy some . How was i to know that Eth will become this great. Congratiulations! Ethereum team.

The answer to that question is you dont. No one has crystal ball and no one anticipated the changes of the price on each project. Some projects that are very low before are starting to rise now. I was hoping to look and find these kinds of projects. I think most people will only dump or sell their coin once they reach at least 10x of their investment but who actually stays for a very long time. Those are the one that ripped the glory of those project in the long run. Best example is ethereum which are now on the peak of their game and Im sure it will continue to rise even more. Happy Anniversary ethereum!

Apart from the endless war on terrorism (in which the US takes part on both sides), there are no other wars anymore and they are not expected in the near future, for sure. This is a) no one needs b) the wrong time.
Even China isn't stupid enough to start a war. In the future, I think we will have a conflict for our favorite "black" continent, but for now, there is no such thing.

the ethereum project is better enough, unfortunately for now it cannot handle spam transactions and high gas costs, it should have been resolved long ago, very high transaction costs make many people choose other alternatives to make transactions, but whatever it is ETH is very good in development during these 5 years

I congratulate Ethereum and everyone who invested early in ETH, i guess everyone who did that is quite rich now. I envy you  .
I have read that when Ethereum launched they had quite a rough start with many issues and an unstable mainnet, but look where they are 5 years later.

Indeed they are, they have brought something great in the community that makes things easy for every company develoeprs and insytitution to get in the Cryptocommunity, now we have Waves Tron Binance imitating their platform and besides the competition they are really working hard to maintain their leadership in the smart contract platform industry.

Ethereum is one of the best innovations after the introduction in the crypo community and we can see that the market cap also signifies the same thing. Ethereum wasn't that popular from the start as it is now is, because of these smart contracts and the introduction of ICO from bitcoin to Ethereum blockchain there was a tremendous growth in the price of Ethereum in the ICO frenzy era. After a short time whole cryptocurrency market fell and is strongly coming back up with the crypto prices really looking strong now and now all coins are almost set for a mega pump.

Absolutely right, last year when Ethereum price was historical low, many people thought that Ethereum was becoming a scam. Now we're seeing their hard work. At beginning this year, I was sure Ethereum will launch their ETH-20 and now here it is the testnet validator on BeaconScan.com. Even in a few years Ethereum can't be dead, but Bitcoin will always be the top.

but, Ethereum price was not on historical low last year? it was a low from ATH in January 2018, but was far away from historically low points, because ETH was below $1 at the beginning, during ICO, 1 BTC was 2000 ETH, so last year was a bit low from 2018 top perspective, but far away from historic low, on a macro scene, that could be seen as long term consolidation point, which brought as another rising cycle, that is currently on

unfortunately ethereum still can't have a price increase anymore, i really hope ethereum price can return to the time price in 2017 where ethereum price can be very expensive and the current condition many ethereum supporters who are trapped in high prices are still holding out and hopefully they can pick up those trapped there.
