What happened; Trust Wallet Fake Giveaway

I have found this fake airdrop on Facebook and if we click on the claim now it asks to enter 12 words as its private key then stay away from this fake airdrop.

Thank you, giving out your 12 seed mnemonic phrase is the worst thing that you are going to do in crypto sphere. And if you have been long enough, you will realized that you don't have to reveal your seed to anyone unless you are really really sure about it. And just by the looks for the website, I wouldn't trust it all.

Seems that scammers took the advantage of Binance lunching a giveaway celebrating it's second anniversary teaming with trustwallet up, offering 10,000,000 TWT to 10,000 users. Proof: https://twitter.com/binance/status/1289223693525299206

I can't find the page/group in facebook posting the fake airdrop. This is the only page i can find and it looks legit but not sure if it's official trustwallet channel. Can you mention the link please ?

There's a lot of posts about fake giveaways or airdrops in some cryptocurrency related facebook groups, most of the posters are using fake or dummy facebook account just to spam their fake airdrops/giveways in lot of facebook groups. Some facebook groups there are in private, so you can only see the posts if you are a member in some of those facebook groups.

This is a common protocol and the very first thing airdroppers should learned. If someone asking for your keys to receive rewards then its a scam. No one will ever ask for your private keys, unless you are importing a wallet to another third party like metamask.

The only problem here are the urge of people to gain rewards. Im sure there are some users whove imported their keys thinking that they are gonna take their hands on sweet trust wallet tokens.

Whenever any website ask for private key or mnemonic phrase then its pretty much clear that what is their real intention. This kinda trap only made for them who are comparatively new in crypto and have less knowledge about their wallet security. This guys are using the name of BNB and Trust wallet to attract both platform users together and offering free prizes to get the control of their wallet.

Impressive investigation work done by "$crypto$". I will suggest our community user to stay far from this type of fake airdrops where actually these scammers are trying to wash your wallet.

Well, if you are deliberately looking for a fake giveaway on Facebook, it will be difficult to find because this privacy is not published by the scamer so that it is only shared with specified groups with privacy.

The page was created three days ago without any subscriber till now and all the posts are about the fake airdrop.

This is a system of known scams, they will not ask you to send any kind of funds, they want the private key of your wallet. And if you are tempted to give the private key of your wallet, then the scammers will take the funds of your wallet.

Since the trust wallet is now very popular, scammers are going to take advantage of this popularity to scam. So everyone need to keep themselves safe from such scams. I think the newcomers will keep themselves safe by watching this thread. Thanks OP for alerting everyone.
