All we can do is educate ourselves; Buyer Beware. Our transactions are irreversible so we don't have the "safety net" of a CC chargeback; we must do our due diligence and make sure we are sending to the right person.
Educating ourselves about scams will only get us so far but I do not think that it is the only solution. We can use our sheer number to mass report this Youtube channel because Youtbe does not care whether it is a scam or not, they will not step in if there is no substantial report or any damages, they will see it as a number but we can use that as an advantage against them, this is the most appropriate situation to do a cancel culture.
A mass report can be the best solution for no other people to get victimized by watching this scam video in their YouTube channel because YouTube really doesn't make any step if no one have report about it. Educating ourselves is really the first thing we need to do, so we could avoid getting into scams and fraud activities that is spreading in the internet.

I would add Linkedin and Instagram to that selection. I don´t know how often I get approached with the most hare-brained scam attempts, usually connected to mining or trading. My favorite was the girl who told me about the trading system she has that pays out 800% weekly. haha I´m certain some greedy and maybe hopeful newbies could fall for that.

Too good to be true, better to keep away don't let greed victimized you by this scammers. The chance for newcomers to fall to this kind of act is very high, as they are thinking that this venue of investment is just that easy.

Most of those scammers are good in alluring their target victims, showing good proofs that they are really getting good from this kind of scheme.

Always make sure to do your research and the best place to do that is to keep reading from forum that talks about the same industry that you are planning to invest your money.

Absolutely I´m fully aware of it myself but as you (and I) mentioned, for newbies it could be deceptive and enticing. All the hype by so called gurus and experts out there could easily trigger hope and greed in people. As we even see here on some parts of the forum, people love the hype. The get-rich-quick allure sounds good but doesn´t work.

Before I stepped into cryptocurrency space and learned about Satoshi's invention, I had never faced any financial scams such as ponzi schemes, doublers, fake giveaways, etc. From my point of view, it wasn't very exciting to fight against scams of the past, because they were using currency of the past, fiat currency, which was not so technological and interesting like currency we have today. I mean cryptocurrency which is based on cryptography and math. What is really attractive for me when it comes to cryptocurrency and bitcoin is that it requires knowledge and constant self-education in order to fully comprehend how scammers think, how exactly they use advantages and disadvantages of cryptocurrencies when trying to decieve honest people. This is infinite cat and mouse game, from which we can gain useful experience and learn about interesting aspects of programmable money.

Where there is money or something of value, there are scammers. We can't stop scam from happening. It's been there for centuries. All we can try to do is try to put up warnings or guides of how people can safeguard their cryptocurrencies. It's up to the people to take responsibility and stop being so greedy and careless with money.

It is true that scamming will never be eliminated in this world but we can prevent ourselves from being scammed or being the victim. You need to help yourself become resistant to those scams with enhancing the security of your account and your assets. Scammers in the time are really powerful with the use of technology and as time passes by, they are getting stronger and strong that's why as soon as possible, we should report them immediately. They should be prioritized by the authorities to reduce their population, because as they see that with the use of social media in scamming, it is an easy money, they will continue doing it and maybe a lot of people will be harmed by them once we are not aware about it.

sometimes there are loopholes to make this a scam, the lack of supervision on social media platforms about the bitcoin scam causes many scammers to be free. prevention is also not maximal so I think we ourselves have to be careful with scammer projects that are in public

Once we saw one, don't hesitate to inform other people or show those links that is needed to be avoided to prevent scams to spread.

Being aware and well-informed is really necessary as scammers are getting stronger and stronger, they are spreading in the internet immediately.

It is not that easy to become a bitcoin investor or holder because there are a lot of risks that is continuously circulating in the internet and many platforms that we are using. Youtube and Twitter is not the only social media where they can be use as a tool in scamming. Facebook can be also used and Google, too. As much as possible become vigilant and sensitive when it comes to an unknown and obvious suspicious links.

What is the crypto community doing/(able to do) about Twitter and Youtube crypto scams? The other day I was recommended a SpaceX live stream that was promoting a btc/eth scam, and this was on Youtube's homepage. I've seen these scams on twitter for years, and they only seem to be getting worse, so I don't have much faith in either of these platforms solving the problem any time soon.

Is there anything we can do as a community to prevent people from sending their crypto to these scammers? Could we build bots that crawl these social networks and add potential scam addresses to a database that wallets/exchanges can check against before letting users atomically send their crypto? I know the most obvious solution is to educate people to recognize scams, but that doesn't seem to be happening.

Here's some related links
https://www.coindesk.com/apple-co-founder-steve-wozniak-sues-youtube-over-bitcoin-giveaway-scams
https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/elon-musk-twitter-scam-bots-cryptocurrency-bitcoin-a9314356.html

We can't do something. The crypto space is open and everyone tries to make money out of it.
The same was happening in the past with ICOs. Now that ICOs do not exist they try to scam people with other ways.
I wonder why people fall for it even that there was so many attempts to be scammed in the past.

We all know that this is a kind of old school scam that on youtube and twitter has a giveaway and the only way to become a participant on this event is you will need to send funds in this address right here on the screen or the link below. Come on. Giveaway but you need to donate?.

Even this is an old school thing still there are a lot of people getting trapped and scammed on this method and those are the people who do not really know the use of the bitcoin and they want to make easier money in just one click that's simple easy money with the bitcoin. They didn't know this is a scam.

How to prevent these scams.

1. You can not earn bitcoin by just joining into a life they are giving bitcoin.
2. Stop entertaining people that are telling themselves selves "I can help you to earn a lot of bitcoin".
3. Don't invest when you thing something fishy and suspicious.
4. The last. Don't be dumb; the internet is all around you can connect and make a research at your own knowledge is powerful if you don't have that you will be getting scammed easily be aware.

I haven't experience yet that there is a giveaway bitcoins with Facebook but some of those are just a scamming website or platform that is pretending that they can earn a lot of money without any investment the only thing you should do is to watch videos and clicking ads. At the end of the day when you reach the minimum requirements it needs to invite a lot of people and the withdrawal method doesn't work. Always be aware and educated.

Regarding twitter / youtube Bitcoin scams are very unsettling, I found lots of Bitcoin scams on both platforms. There isn't much
we can do to prevent people from being deceived by scammers, but at least we try to educate the people closest to us to be able
to recognize scams. This step should be more effective, because it is more difficult to educate strangers. This small step can save
a lot of people, if taken together.

The only thing we can do is to spread awareness just like our co members in scam sections are doing there are so many of them and they are populated by these kind of scams, they are victimizing newbies and those who are greedy thinking that these are all true.

Awareness help a lot in terms of lessening the possible victims, greed and those who don't know nothing about this scheme,
they are very prone of being victimized.

By  providing information this people will get such ideas and prevent doing the same thing over
and over, I'm talking about newcomers and greedy investors, as we know that scammers will not stop.

This people will keeps on having new ideas to allure people and to get someone to become
their victims. Helping the spread will take them down and not to allow them to get anyone's
money.

You can do something about it according to this article: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2801973%3Fhl%3Den&ved=2ahUKEwj-zrDWr5PrAhU2yYsBHXPsAL8QFjABegQICRAF&usg=AOvVaw1qQUK2kqydi06hDZplwClG

But I think you need to report them many times using or recruiting your friend to help you mass report it to remove the account or the video regarding on the scam that you were saying. Lucky you because you've figured it out that ir was just a scam. I think the latest ETH scam I know recently is the FORAGE network, something like that.

And the legendary scam that I know since I've started in crypto currency is the "THE BILLION COIN" or TBC.

Educating people is the only solution we have here, apart from that other things you have mentioned here are my going to work. Let’s assume that it is possible to create a bot that is going to dictate addresses that are owned by scammers (I can’t even imagine that happening, no bot can do that automatically), you will still not be able to capture all the addresses that are owned by the scammers, and moreover anyone can generate addresses as much as they want, using different wallets. So, they can decide to be making use of new addresses every time they are carrying out their evil mission.

So, this is not going to work at all. And moreover, the approach that is being used by these scammers are sometimes dumb asf and easy to dictate. What does a space tech. Company has to do with cryptocurrency, not to talk of doing giveaway? And another thing is that no legit company will tell you to send them $1,000 for them to double it for you, seriously this is not a casino!

People really needs to wise up. So the best thing you can be doing is to be teaching people, and yes you can’t save everyone from getting scammed, it’s just something that is kind of inevitable, people will continue to fall for scam no matter what.If you’re wise enough not to fall for it, then lucky you.

it makes people very annoyed because of the scams perpetrated by Youtube. Youtube is a large company and commits fraud, it is like an impossible thing, in my opinion it is the same as defaming the good name of YouTube. I agree if Wozniak demands compensation from YouTube because his name is used as the actor promoting the bitcoin giveaway.

Actually what we can only do is to share our knowledge on bitcoin in our community to lessen the rate of people getting scam by this large website. Some of my friends who have the knowledge and trust of the community in earning crypto-currency always post knowledgeable content in his facebook page. And some who just want to earn even they know the risk is using their bitcoin to attract more victims in ponzi scheme. I'm just curious what if there's a law that prohibiting advertising this ponzi scheme? I think this can help to lessen the advertiser/scammer.

We could do the same thing.
Use Twitter, Youtube, and Facebook as a weapon to educate those who may possibly be a victim of this attempts.
Definitely, you got it man. Every thing has its own advantage and disadvantages the only thing that matters is on how it is used and approached. These platforms are being used for scamming, as if any platform can't be used for scamming. All of the platform might be scam, especially these days where people are more engage in online activities, scammers are pretty alive making their trap for gullible people. So if you see a suspicious one, might as well give it a study and if you find it shady or worse a scam just report it so it will be flagged, that's how you use the report button.

We cannot control how many will follow us or read it.
But, there will always be the possibility that someone will read it and avoid this scams.
It may be a low chance but a chance is still a chance. 1% is better than 0.
Platforms such as facebook, twitter and youtube has billions and millions of followers and viewers that's why it is often use for scams. However, these things can be avoided with proper caution. At the end of the day it is you, yourself that has the responsibility of your doings. If you get scammed, it's all your fault.

I think the solution to this problem is that people stop being greedy and think that just as it is difficult to get money in the real world, it is also difficult to get money on the internet.

it is not possible for someone to say:

"send X bitcoin to address Z which I will send you 10X later"

and people believe in those kinds of things and they don’t even have time to think about where the money comes from to pay 10X

Why not all of us here in forum let's post in our social media profiles to let them know how ponzi scheme works and how to know if the website legit or not? What do you think? It's quite impossible to just say that people should stop being greedy because they will not. The action for this to be solved relies upon us, by simply reporting any content, videos, ads or any person who is suspicious and proven scammer have a huge impact to make them stop especially in youtube, a simple channel strike could ban their account. What if they try to scam in decentralized social media platforms and messaging apps? Still, it will be up to us not to entertain them.

Since I have been here for years already, the best that I can share is for us to have a strong knowledge about the basics of bitcoin and blockchain, ethereum smartcontracts and mining. They cannot fool you around if you know how these things really work, especially by veryfing transactions of random wallet addresses they wish you to sent some amounts into.

many miss leading videos and scammers on youtube and until now thier video still exist on the platform  . whats worst that i see is that when popular youtuber  promotes an investment offer that they themselves not familiar of  .

when i come back on the video , i will only see that those who invest are complaining that they have been tricked  .  twitter is less strict and wont even ban mature content, im afraid they will misslook scam attempts on thier platform  .

I have seen this kind of scam since the year started, and is crazy to see how Youtube gives zero fucks about the.

On this point, they should have some kind of filter to avoid people getting scammed with it, but not, they take down the video after tons of people report it. You, know that free employers army, lol.
