I was just thinking recently if a member is offering a lending service on bitcointalk but go against the rule of the forum. If temporary baned is still better but what about permanent band.

If the person offering the lending service is owed by one, two or more members totally 0.5btc more or less. Will the person be banned immediately or given warning for ban notice?

Or if ban, can the person appeal for unban so he can receive back his funds from debtors?

Don't mind me, just want to know about the forum better.  Grin

Will the person be banned immediately or given warning for ban notice?
It depends on which rule the person broke. Things like excessive bumping or spamming or altcoin giveaways may result in warnings prior to a temporary ban. Things like plagiarism or selling illegal goods usually result in an immediate perma-ban.

Or if ban, can the person appeal for unban so he can receive back his funds from debtors?
You can always appeal a ban, but whether or not you have outstanding business on the forum will likely be irrelevant to the mods'/admins' decision.

Permanent ban is a permanent ban here, unless otherwise. I believe Permanent bans due to offences like plagiarism come with no warning, it doesn't matter how many people he owes and i don't think can be changed.

Lending (or any other trade-related stuff) has nothing to do with bans. If you break the rules to the extent that you need to be banned - you will be banned regardless if you're owed money or owe money or have any other business.

And user can still receive funds while banned... presumably the lender would have arranged a repayment address in advance so the borrower can send funds to that address. Banned users can also receive PMs (but can't send PMs) so a borrower could send a PM and arrange some sort of communication (e-mail, telegram, etc) if necessary.

Bitcoin transactions are transparent, so as said above, if he had included a repayment address the loan can be refunded by the borrower and there would not be any need for a confirmation from him/her as the txid can be checked and verified by other users. Complications may arise if the loan is defaulted, especially if it is a collateralized one and the user would have to receive something of equal value which would have previously been escrowed. This can however be arranged between the escrower and the user off the forum. (Through one-way PMs on the forum)
There's also the case of the borrower defaulting a no-collateral loan and the lender not being active to draw attention to it or create a scam accusation thread against the said user.

In this case I think the mods would allow a reply in the appeal thread (if one was created) in which the banned user can request the community looks into it.

I was just thinking recently if a member is offering a lending service on bitcointalk but go against the rule of the forum. If temporary baned is still better but what about permanent band.
Indeed as you said There are two parts to prohibit this forum.
1. Permanent.
2. Meanwhile. The specified time.

Straight to.
Basically the forum rules already say something like this:

25. Ban evasion (using or creating accounts while one of your accounts is banned) is not allowed.[e]
I thought there was no warning before it was banned, prohibition like hurricane, unannounced.

After being banned, there is a notification, you must appeal to the appellate attorney.

The problem is the loan ...!
Another alternative that you can use, you can still make transactions whenever you want, if your account has to be posted on meta.

For example;
• You can still communicate loan transactions via email, telegram, watsap, to make loan payments.
This applies to permanent blocks, pending your appeal in recovery.

You are joining a forum that has rules and regulations. Violating the rules and regulations with intention to do it or not will still have to face the consequences either permban or receiving negative trust if permban is not applicable or other sanctions that could impose to the user's account. I have seen often discussions in regards with user complains or making an appeal using alt accounts after their original account was ban. It is too bad for them because most Mods are firm with their decision and also good at their decision making.

The forum had already provided informations that a user can learn and to avoid getting into violations and getting sanctions. Sad to say that due to ignorance they were too many get ban here.

No warnings will be given, there will be a straight ban when a moderator or admin handles it but if you want, you can contact someone in this forum via other messaging options and proves that you are the real owner and need in help of posting something on your lending thread is possible because it happened when someone banned temporarily.

The warnings are already there in the Official forum rules for everyone to read and understand. If anyone does not care and decides to turn a blind eye to the forum rules then it's clearly their fault. Any deal that was between the banned person and other people can still be completed outside the forum.

In general the Ban just takes effect. For one, the forum bares no responsibility for businesses people conduct on this public forum. That includes any debts someone is owed by members here.

In reality iirc, someone was given a day or so to send some PM's and sort some things out before they were temp banned for a week. This was a case of unsolicited PM's for business. Can't remember they may have had to make a request to do so.

There was a lender who found themselves in the spot you describe. Lucky for them someone deemed them to have contributed enough to the forum in their time to only warrant a 30 day Ban for plagiarism, which I believe got bumped up to a 60 later on. Fuzzy on those details. Either way they had someone else communicating for them, even tried to have them run their business until the thread was locked for the duration of their ban.

Plagiarism leads to perma bans without warnings and when the ban happens, the chance to get second chance with signature limitation is very very rare.
[TIPS] to avoid plagiarism
  • Plagiarism: If you copy some text from somewhere, then you should have a good reason for it, and you must link to the source. Doing otherwise is plagiarism. Changing a few words around doesn't matter. If we find that you plagiarized, then you absolutely will be permanently banned, even if we find it years after you did it.

Warning: Anyone caught copying other users' posts or plagiarising content from elsewhere on the web will be immediately permabanned. You shouldn't need a warning to know that this isn't acceptable under any circumstances.

I remember one case just about what the OP is talking about. User shasan temporary banned and as far as I know, his problem was solved somewhat faster than usually just because of his lending business.
also, he only ended up with a signature ban, which is an acceptable minimum penalty.

His ban appeal thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5144331.0
I recalled one case did not have signature ban. It means after a successful ban appeal, he was free entirely. Don't remember who is so lucky.

I checked theymos' post history and chimk is the case who was mistakenly banned and his ban appeal was accepted. He even got his signature space immediately after the appeal approval.
First of all, if you have a history of good posts, then we're going to be suspicious of any plagiarism accusations. Second, if it does happen, you can come to Meta on a new account and explain it.

That exact scenario happened with chimk, and he was unbanned after we found out. And although it was certainly a big mistake on our part to have banned him in the first place, the person who framed him did in in a pretty sophisticated way, and his case was exacerbated by the language barrier (eg. we were unable to immediately determine whether he was a good poster or not).

No, because mistakes are occasionally made. chimk was framed that one time, for example.

Not written in proper English but understood the point of your post.
There was one accident that absolutely suits to your post and 100% answers to your question. User Lone Shark was actively offering landing service on bitcointalk but after some time someone caught him and was permanently banned because of copy/pasting posts but ban was remove by theymos because of his loan service.
If you are asking whether someone may notify/warn you before ban, then - no, it comes as a suprise.

Also if such thing happened in past, it doesn't mean that same may happen in future. Don't go against the rules, if you can't protect them, then why to be there?

You can see his profile here and check threads created by him and one red trust where you'll see things in more details: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=909705
