as a miner back then the only off ramp was mtgox and dwolla and coins were around $10 USD and i mined with gaming GPUs. it then fell to around $2 USD for a loooong time. i still mined though through that phase. so it was more a hobby and to be part of the Grand Experiment. where it would eventually go i had no idea but i felt it was a game changer.. but not to the extent it wound up to be.

as to someone saying it would go to 10K (and 20k) back then..well i would of laughed in their face.

but i liked the tech and making (back then) chump change with a gaming rig (later buying several cards, mostly ATI HD58xx and 68xx series cards) to subsidize my gaming rigs but i dindt fully understand it till much later. once i fully understood the white paper.. well it blew my mind as to its simplicity and vision. and here we are.

I'm lucky because i'm one of those people who knows already about bitcoin, I haven't been in the crypto world that long and i'm not as knowledgeable as like many here, but I can say that bitcoin has also helped me a lot in my life. Somehow I had a source of income even though I was just at home and taking care of the children.

What is clear is Bitcoin has changed my life, I did not think that in cyberspace I did not know many things, but finally when I got to know Bitcoin I was able to know better what cyberspace was, especially bitcoin and cryptocurency,
I can profit from every project on this forum and generate some bitcoins and make more money, and for sure bitcoin changed my thinking about cyberspace.

For me personally, I use Bitcoin to accept money from people instantly.

Bitcoin allowed me to earn money and not pay taxes to the state. I have long been an opponent of official state sources and the fact that they collect taxes is very much I did not like. when bitcoin appeared in my life, I sighed with full lungs. Thank bitcoin!

That is because bitcoin is a very valuable asset. You dont have to pay taxes on the bitcoin you earn if your country doesnt have regulation on them and you're free to use them whenever you need them. But the next time your country issues a regulation on income tax from bitcoin, then you will have to pay that too.

During this time we have heard stories of many people about their success after getting to know bitcoin and it is clear evidence that bitcoin can change the economic status of its user even though not all feel it and many of them are trader and investor. I am sure you've felt the same way as many others since getting to know forum and crypto.

I'll give a different answer, just so people wouldn't see the typical answers like payments, the investment aspect, trading, and such.

I don't know about most of the Bitcointalk peeps, but there's something so liberating about having total control over your money; knowing that even if my country's central bank and/or government messes up or decides to fuck up the economy, I wouldn't take maximum damage like most people who hold purely fiat will. Along with that, the fact that no one can take my bitcoin from me(practice physical security ladies and gentlemen, watch out for $5 wrench attacks).

100% agreed. I am against all forms of authority over others. The bank can freeze your funds anytime they want. Just knowing that freaks me out. The fact that everything can be taken from me if they so desire.
Crypto I own. It is backed up on paper and on a ledger and on flash drives and external HDD in various locations. The safety is in my hands and my problem. I know it is safe. I also love that it is digital because money is filthy. You don't need to rely on anyone else or open a bank or prove anything to anyone.

I got many jobs through cryptocurrency and apart from that there are also jobs that I got through LinkedIn and other means online that I got paid through Bitcoin. Bitcoin is more easy to use than PayPal, because with Bitcoin once I get the money I send to local face-to-face exchanges and get the money paid in to my account or if I want I can I just HODL the coins I have got till their prices increase and I make profit from them and that’s extra money for me.

Bitcoin has helped me in so many ways, and it’s worth it. Bitcoin is useful to me to the extent that if the government in my country should ban it I’m going to be seriously affected by it, because the crypto community as a whole has been a means of income. I always pray for the community to keep growing.

Bitcoin makes you understand that you must gain knowledge and invites you to continue learning.

Bitcoin has given us control to hodl our money by ourselves and in the kind of wallet we choose. We can also trade for profit. Being lucky to join signature is also another benefit because you get rewarded with bitcoin that you can hodl for increase.

It was really magically changed from when i got engaged with BTC from year 2017. Before it i was mentally upset with my family and personal life but after come across with BTC i am totally tension free with my family. Now in every month i can save some money for my future and i can enjoy my life free and fairly. I think everybody who come side of BTC has changed like me.

On the other hand in this pandemic situation when everyone was in upset with income i was totally free because for market up i made income huge from it. So i suggest everybody to come and love BTC.

I take money through bitcoin, therefore help me to become anonymous.
But if i narrate a real story, then my friend with the help of Bitcoins, has built his own gaming pc.

Personally what I enjoy the most is the freedom that it comes with it, I enjoy the fact that no matter what happens the government cannot seize my coins by just making a few clicks in a computer the same way they can do that with the banking system, that gives me peace of mind and when you take into account that the number of bitcoins are limited and that it cannot be printed at will by the government this gives me the security that whatever money I put into bitcoin is only going to grow if I wait long enough.
