It was nice to watch Manchester City and Arsenal facing each other for the first time in this season.

I can't say that Manchester City were too dominant. There was a good balance mostly but it was more in favour of Manchester City in the second half especially. Thanks to Ake's goal they won by 1-0 and eliminated Arsenal in the FA Cup. I was giving Arsenal also to advance to next round. But Manchester City did a good job about keeping them away from a goal. We watched Trossard also in this game by the way. Arteta wanted to see him playing right away.

Luckily Nathan Aké managed to score a goal to bring Manchester City to victory, because if no one managed to score then the game might only end in a draw, at least Manchester City have many players they can rely on without having to wait for a goal from Erling Haaland.

It's not a real match but indeed there is always a second layer to a match in the FA Cup but for me it's not boring it's quite interesting to see how Arsenal are 1 goal down but still put pressure on Manchester City but domination of the game in general the hosts always dominate.
The betting odds here Arsenal is quite big but in reality we have to admit Manchester city's advantage here but with the second layer being lowered they will be more focused on other matches and actually we want to see in the middle of the month they meet in the Premier League.

No, both teams play the main squad you can check the lineup the mainstay player is on a line like Haaland, De Bruyne and Grealish

Yep, the match felt monotonous actually but this could be a pretty good warm-up for the two teams considering they will meet in the EPL continuation in February.
Even though this is indeed a match, some of them are reserves, but still, the two coaches clearly have more information here to prepare for the real match.

I must admit that I was a little surprised by the selection but I'm happy to see Arteta trusting his second options to deliver today, surely this will also build their confidence.

Arsenal versus Manchester City is less interesting. There was no energy in the match like a team wants to win the match by all means. Will I say is because of is FA cup, not a premier league game.

The kind of good football expectations I was expecting from both teams before the match started were second to none. I was left disappointed after the first half. I didn't consider seeing the second-half match because of how both teams played in the first half.

Definitely, Arsenal's performance wasn't bad at all. In fact  they had had the best chances in the first half but weren't able to convert. Pep did a good job in actually mounting a standby defence on Bukayo Saka, he couldn't move much without Ake or Akanji being there to stop him. Trossard on the other hand was very good in the game, he managed to bring up a few moves and even had a good short on target but, the goalkeeper was there to keep it out, even the chance of Takehiro and yet again, Ortega was right there.

It was a close one but Pep had the day. Arsenal now has what to look out for in the Premier League.

There were a large portion of the starting lineup that didn't even start in this match which made the match less interesting.
This is just a match that is not too decisive and they are not too ambitious to win in this match. On the other hand, with Arsenal being eliminated, I think it's pretty good for them because with this they can only focus on the Europa League and EPL without thinking about other matches.

I feel arteta is just being cautious not to have any unnecessary injuries to his first team players as this is a cup match and there main priority will be on winning the league title. Arteta and his boys have played excellently in this season and having unwanted injuries in the squad might just change the whole atmosphere in the title race this season. I expected this game to be very dull because the two teams are all in the race for the league title and would not be looking to start the game with their first team squad.

He would definitely do something like this because apart from this it wasn't really a priority. Arteta also kept the players from getting tired, even though some players were eventually sent down as substitutes.
The conditions have not actually changed and looking at the games of the two clubs it seems that they are not too insistent on this win especially for Arsenal because indeed they seem to be playing the ball more when they get it than trying to attack as hard as they can.

Every club has a dream or set aside goals to win every match and trophy they play in. But sometimes these teams look at the potentiality of winning these trophies base with the kind of squad they have and currently Arsenal don’t have that depth to be in three competitions. As the season progresses this fixture piles up and players begin to fade out due to fatigue, so many clubs takes the risk assessment approach and let go of some trophies they felt isn’t a major priority to them. The FA Cup is a title that a player wants to win, it is not unimportant. Arsenal has now lost a game vs another title favourite, then that is a big event. The players will remember that and think about it in the next game, or the tactical talks before the game will report on it. The championship is more important, yes ok, but it's not won yet. It's only 18 days away on 15 February, so I think yesterday's game was important for City's motivation to keep giving everything to win the championship.

Arsenal lost the game in the second half because, in the first half, they were in control of the game. The performance of Arsenal is proof that Mikel Arteta is no longer the apprentice of Pep Guardiola. Based on history Manchester City has won 13 of their 14 games against Arsenal but this game was different because City had to fight hard for this victory. But this loss is a blessing in disguise because they can now focus on the Premier League and Europa. After all, the Arsenal squad might not be able to withstand the tight schedule.
