I don't think Manchester United need to sign a new defender this summer. They've got quite a good number of defenders. The defenders just need to stay fit and be injury-free. What they do need is a goalkeeper and a midfielder to make the team solid. However, with the transfer window coming to an end in less than two weeks, I'm not sure they can make it happen. It's most likely they would make do with what they've got and continue reinforcement in the next window.

Manchester United needs defenders more than they do for midfielders, last season their defence was a piece of shit and to crown it all they don't even have a quality goalkeeper that is dependable but erratic in the goalpost instead. A midfielder shouldn't be Manchester United priority if they wish to sign a new player, adding to the the defence and goalie would bring a more wholesome strong depth instead.

Manchester United needs defenders very seriously. I do not have believe in the defenders we have now. I think Manchester United defence is too weak or lazy to say to fit in Amorim style. The defender I think will fit well in Amorim's style is Martinez and funny enough he is barely available. So, if there is a way to offload some defenders like De ligt, Maguire, Evans, Malacia and more and get in serious minds, I will so much appreciate.
I am sorry if some people gets offended with me mentioning Maguire, but the truth be told, he is not that clever and has nothing close to the standard of United defence (Matic, Ferdinand, Evra, Neville and co).

we shouldn't rush to conclusions. After all, it's Man Utd  , and it's only the first game of the season. Everyone wants to make a good impression, but also not lose the match. Arsenal played it safe, while Man Utd looked like they want to give more this year to the crowd.

But you have to admit, they looked much more solid compared to last season. There was more running, better cohesion, and some nice moves. That gave me a bit of hope for a better future for Man Utd.

While it is true that we should not come to conclusion after just the first game. But do you really think that this team could work? They changed their front court, they now have Cunha-Mbuemo-Sesko-Bruno four upfront and they think that will be great.

How many people really believed most of those players were good? I get that Bruno is good, but the other three never played at a high level before, and they are not going to be that much awesome. I get that they were decent in a bad team, and they were overpaid right now to get, but they are not going to be great. They also paid 80 million or something for Anthony as well, did he turned out to be great? He was seen as a great one at Ajax, but he was terrible at United.

He probably still  believes so much in that defence line and that is why he has probably still maintained it, I wish for him to improve them even as he is holding unto keeping them and very importantly he should get a goal keeper, the both keepers he has are not fit enough for the team, they can not get him the kind of results he is aiming at. Both keepers lack good reflex and they also make too .ay silly mistakes as a goal keeper.

I don't know how people can conclude that Manchester United's defense was bad against Arsenal, even though, if you look at the average score, the defense is at a better level than some players in other positions. I'm not talking about last season, but rather the results of the match against Arsenal. Manchester United's weakness in that match lay in their midfield, as they were unable to control the rhythm of the game to create scoring opportunities, making it difficult for their forwards to find the back of the net. I see Manchester United's game improving, although it hasn't quite lived up to expectations.

If faced with a choice I think Manchester United need a defender, I'm not saying the current players are bad but it's not a bad idea to prepare a better squad. Last season's experience should be an example of the failure of the defensive line even though there are many reasons there. Based on Man United transfer records this season, they are prioritizing the attack line by spending 150 million while for their defense line they only spent 4 million + new players from the academy. I don't understand why the coach is so confident in the current defense line or maybe he has other plans?

You are right what they need now is a good defender that will serve as a backup in case something went wrong and even if something didn't went wrong they can still use them to start up. Manchester united really suffered a lot last season because of defenders injury especially Martinez injury so the best preventive measure now is to get new defender(s) because I believe the front line is okay as it stands but they need to work on how create good and big chances and also how to convert those big chances to goal because playing well without a win is useless, imagine after Manchester united dominated is Arsenal's match and later lose I mean this doesn't make sense.

What Manchester United needs now is a goalkeeper and a defensive midfielder, and if Manchester United doesn't bring in new players this summer in these positions, Manchester United will likely find it difficult to win matches this season.

In my opinion, Liverpool is a team with a lot of potential. Not to mention that they were smart in signing Federico Chiesa, who i think is a very strong and talented player. i think he can make the difference in any match when he's in form. Too bad he's no longer in Italy.

Liverpool has a lot of potential that is true, but as a team who already won EPL last season, they made way too many changes, and it is not really that normal for a team to make that many changes when they already won the title. Normally you try to keep the team as it is, so that you can try to do the same thing again.

This season they made ton of changes, the only logical one was Frimpong because they lost trend and that one made sense, but getting Wirtz for 100+ million? Close to 150 million some reports say. And then they spent some more, they are basically reaching 300 million or so this summer aren't they? That is insane, and getting that many players in a single summer may disrupt their momentum and could cause them to lose.

You think Manchester United will not perform well with those players they have in this season? despite they lose their first match doesn't mean they need to sign two or more players to be able to challenge their opponents in the premier League and other league matches, I don't think Manchester United is weak in the area of defense in this new season because we saw how Manchester United played Arsenal from the beginning till the end without reduce strength and performance from the match, and the mistake that happened that gave Arsenal opportunity to scored a single goal is from Manchester United goalkeeper if truly you watched Manchester United first match, they have a solid defenders that will make them to be among the top teams in this season.

Manchester United management can decide to keep the manager or fire him after considering how Manchester United performed under their manager last season. After taking charge of Manchester United team last season, the manager could not bring any player to the club but this season Manchester United has brought three new players to the club so Manchester United should have confidence in this manager for the entire season. What can we expect from this journey?

I think the Manchester vs Tottenham game will be interesting to watch.
But the question is: can Man United pull off a win? Fulham is usually competitive, but Man United really needs a win to change course.

Truly the star game of the weekend is the Manchester city vs Tottenham Hotspur which is actually going to be a fascinating contest between this two teams, but I wouldn't be favouring any of them to win if I were to bet on this game because anything can happen, so I think that a over 2.5  or draworGG option is the best to go with, but let's be expected a higher scoring game in this Manchester city vs Tottenham Hotspur game.

Another two fixtures that would really be interesting is the Newcastle vs Liverpool and Brentford vs Aston villa, these two games is actually going to be a tight contested games which am expecting either of them to end in a draw, these are the three tough games I will be looking up to this weekend, and these are the games I might likely put my money on.

I agree with that and I even think overall it's been very good and if Manchester United can maintain the consistency of performance like against Arsenal last weekend I'm pretty sure they will achieve many wins, Manchester United's defeat against Arsenal was not just due to their bad luck because overall their performance has been better than last season.
Now we just need to believe in the process carried out by Amorim, it is not easy to handle the Manchester United team, but if the process is carried out slowly then I will be quite optimistic.

They had 17 shots, only 5 of which were on target, none of which managed to enter Arsenal goal.

This result is not too disappointing considering that Arsenal is not a weak team, conceding one goal is very normal in a big match game against opponents whose strength is almost equal. Amorim needs to sharpen their attacking line in the next match because based on the results in the first match, their weak point lies in their inability to break down Arsenal defense.

Do you think that the opener was a bad one? they literally outplayed Arsenal in all honesty. if not for the one goal apiece, it would have been a perfect start of the season for manchetser united with all signings already showing that there is so much to look out for as the season gets into full swing going forward. i can not even think of a better frontline that is faster, more experinced and mnatured than this lineup of Mbuemo, cunha and just Bruno. the fron of saka, and Eberechi eze that is drawing peoples attention and is making all the headline is not even stronger than this. normaly, we are waiting to see good result from this combination to be able to really give concrete validation to them but till then, we can not take out the fact that they are a very strong forward that are capable of good result for united.

Even from the replays been shown, it wasn't even a mistake from the part of Manchester United, it wasn't a goalkeeper error. It's just that that Arsenal defender was smart enough to disrupt the goalkeeper, that would have been an infringement on the goalkeeper and I wonder why the ref didn't cancel the goal even after his seen the replay. Although, Manchester United players were not clinical enough if not, they would have drawn or even won the match.

I don't see any match in this week is interesting to watch, it's all big teams vs small teams, few of them are equal, but they're not popular teams.

So it's easy to predict: Chelsea, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Nottingham, Brighton, Manchester United and Liverpool will win the match.

Manchester United game against Arsenal shows that United is improving in their performance though they lost to Arsenal at home but their coming game against Fulham should be another opportunity for them to correct their mistakes and take their chances to score goals. Ruben Amorim strategy looks good in the first game but playing from away we expect to see United coming in full force to attack and score goals, the players are feet and ready to play no pressure from the fans or opposition team should make them not to get 3 points from the game.

This is last seasons final six of the player's player award as announced by PFA for it's award. These players are the final standout for last season and only one out of these six players will win this award, now the question is, who's more deserving from this list? Bruno Fernandez, Alexander Isak, Mac Alister, Declan Rice, Cole Palmer and Mohamed Salah. I wonder who will finally win it!

Mo Salah of course! He has been outstanding for Liverpool in the last three seasons and Maintaining such level of consistency level I will give it to him and yes he won it. He is now the first player to win the PFA player’s player of the year award three times, what a milestone he has achieved. Big congratulations to him!

Just hours before the game between Chelsea vs Westham to start. We get Chelsea for 1.75 against Westham 4.60. The odds in in favor Chelsea to win. I hope they will learn from their mistake from the previous game. I hope they won't play a hexagon of defender that may be clogging their build-up. Only hope Maresca figured out how to handle it towards in this game. James, Tosin and Cucurella must start at the back. Estevao and Gitten must be paired, and Delap at the upfront. I hope they will win it because i will bet on them to win this game.

Confidence do not seem like the problem with Manchester United, they play their games without fear but they issues with their mentality even now that they have some good quality players, I will not be quick to express certainty with the chances Manchester United have against Fulham because currently Manchester United has not attained enough stability with the new set of players they got even in the last game, sesko did not do much so I am struggling with my confidence on them.
