The World Cup is still on and some of Chelsea's players are still in the competition so I think he'll check his options and the end of the tournament, know the current players that deserve to stay at the club, offloading those that'll be surplus to requirements before signing few players to increase his chances of succeeding.

I think it is very natural to be optimistic about Xabi because Xabi Alonso is a quality coach, but I agree with you that everything needs a process. You are right, on my own opinion I don't expect Chelsea fans to be expecting anything trophy for this coming season, because Xabi Alonso is taking over a disorganized team, and all he needs right now is rebuilding expecting a trophy from him is quite a heavy burden on him, he's definitely gonna win them something no doubt if given the time needed, but for this instance they should be expecting at least a UEFA Champions League competition comes next season that's if he gets things in order else he's still achieving nothing this season.

He obviously didn't get the absolute control over some of the senior players at Real Madrid and to make matters worse, Florentino Perez didn't give him the authority to sanction players that failed to play to his direction, that was why Xabi Alonso didn't do much as a Real Madrid manager.
Now that he's at Chelsea where I believe he'll be allowed to make decisions the best suits his style of football, I believe he'll do much more better than we saw at Real Madrid. I'm expecting to see the version of Xabi Alonso we saw at Bayer Leverkusen

From a player who wanted to play for Chelsea, to a player who will be kicked out by Chelsea. I think Garnacho's time at Chelsea is over, and it's best for him to prepare for next season, as that's the most realistic outcome at this point.
An offer from AS Roma or Napoli could be a promising one for him. At least he'd still be able to play in a league that remains competitive while giving him the opportunity to continue playing. There are also offers from the Saudi league, but I think Garnacho will maintain his career in Europe rather than move to the Saudi league.
