I think preseason is basically building fitness , trying new tactics and giving players game time, the real test starts when the summer kicks off, so it's too early to judge manchester united. Some of the teams struggle in preseason and still go on to have strong campaigns its better to wait until the competition matches start before concluded.

In a situation where the players are mostly at world cup (for big teams at least) we could at least realize that, most of them did not even have a vacation yet, some of them had a short one if they are already eliminated, but not a lot, and they need rest.

So, the World Cup is over, and we only have a month left until the Premier League starts. I just noticed that the start looks favorable for United and Arsenal:

Hull City - Manchester United

And these will be the first two games of the round, so it's safe to assume that the favorites could take the lead right away against the Premier League newcomers. The remaining pairs look more even and points can be lost in each pair. Perhaps, having learned from the experience of the World Cup, it is necessary to immediately start actively betting while the true strength of the favorites is unclear and the bookmakers are inaccurate (just my thoughts).

It is save to say that Arsenal and Manchester United will be opening their first game with three points in their bags because Hull City and Coventry are the underdogs in both games and with the type of quality players in Arsenal and Manchester United they should get an easy win unless they decide to underestimate the newly promoted teams then we can go on to see a very funny outcome.

Is not fun at all to see a team like Manchester United not doing well in the pre season game's, the truth is that no matter how less we see ore season game's their go a long way to showcase clubs preparedness and also they ability to correct previous mistakes, but right now we are not seeing all of that with Manchester United performance yet.

Preseason games is just for fun in order for the coach to come up with a new experiment and see if it will work out. It's doesn't bring out the best performance from a team so don't get it twisted. You cannot use the teams performance in preseason matches to judge their performance when the league starts. I don't bet on preseason games.

The can still build back their team connection with easy training sessions and team reuniting exercises. Everything will depend on the club management's decision. If they are given a little more time to rest, then it's not a problem. But if the club management expects their presence, I think all they need to do is show up, regardless of whether they are included in the team for the match or not. It all depends on the coach. This is just a friendly match to get the players ready for the long competition, especially for players who are not representing their national teams.

All I will say on this is they should be treated with kindness and compassion and not because they want result from them. I am not there with the players to know their physical condition or how they are feeling mentally. I do not know why a fan will see it as okay for them to raise a banter on the grounds of preseason games, we all know how insignificant such can be and so raising an argument on such grounds can be quiet unnecessary but like you said, the anti Carrick fans who wants a point to be proven will want to fond any ground upon which they will justify their taught about him possibly not been a good coach enough.

Man U had the label of a bad performing team before Carrick brought them back to standard, and gave them a good result. I will not say the same thing about football friendly matches, I am of the school of thought that during friendly matches the clubs have the chance to adjust and make efforts to keep them at better chance during the main event, and also underdogs clubs have the chance to test the strength of bigger clubs whom their are going to face during the premier this season, so you see now there are alot of people who are concerned about clubs performance during friendly matches because that were the preparation starts from for both clubs, players and bettors.

Yes, preseason matches are not serious matches and many teams hardly take them so seriously. Lol 😆 please did you watch that game ? Sorry for asking but your statement about Messi having many chances really made laugh because Argentina through the whole game failed to even make a single impact in front of goal and everyone and I mean everyone in that squad were completely frustrated and it showed up at the later end of the game. I think that game yesterday showed how weak this Argentine team has been but all other opponents failed to take note and allowed them press which gave rise to their late winnings but Spain was a different breed and they never sat back as they continued pressing till the whole game ended.

Messi is not the only quality players Argentina have in their team they have many quality players. the mistake Argentina did was that they relied on Messi to much so it became difficult for them to score against spain. Messi gave it his best but his team mates couldn't replicate the same energy on the field. However, Spain players were  robust,they connected well with each and didn't depend on a single player to win their match. They knew that argentina weakness is messi so they didn't give him chance to perform. They understood if they be able to  lock Messi  they could defeat Argentina which they did. I feel the more players in a team that got more closer to the final round of the World Cup, the more time they’ll have to rest before they resume training fully before the start of the new season. All players needs to be strong and fit for their managers to start to use them fully when the season begins, so they won’t deny them their chance of having enough rest. Pushing them to resume when they’re not fully ready can actually cause them more fatigue, so they will have enough time that the rest of their teammates before they resume fully to training. I don’t think this will affect most teams as they can manage a few games before their training squad will resume fully.
