You already know my opinion but here is some reasoning.

Making false claims about escrow (or pretending to be an escrow, whichever way you want to look at it) - type 1 flag, because it creates a false sense of security for potential customers, and shows intent to deceive.

If there were no claims about escrow then perhaps regular red trust would be appropriate. The perp is quite unstable but seems to have some other business going on so I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Just being a general timelord, attacking people erratically, accusing random users of being alts of each other, threatening with bans, etc - neutral feedback.

You can obviously argue that even the escrow stuff is just spy100 being an idiot and I think it's fine to oppose the flag based on that.

It looks like spy100 didn't realize it's not about him trusting the escrow, it's about participants trusting the escrow.

I'll tell you what: I'm willing to be a free escrow (let's limit this to the first 10 bets for now for my sanity), if spy100 can do this with Bitcoin.

My interpretation from spy100's "i will hold the funds in escrow" is that he'll keep the funds for the players by himself. I didn't read the word "escrow" as a person, but as the act of holding the funds. Maybe a less confusing way of saying it would have been "I will hold the funds", without "in escrow".

I don't think spy100's responses and retaliatory feedback help his case. See LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system.

That's really too bad, because I like the idea of his thread! If he'd use escrow and really wants to do all that work for $0.39 profit per bet, it could be a fun for some on-forum betting.

Except there isn't really any work to be done. He didn't post any elaborate decision logic that he would follow or anything like that. For example - "Dow will be >= 32000 points" - what is it? High? Close? Total COVID cases - data source, etc?

If two users wanted to make a P2P bet they can just do it, with or without escrow, without a third party taking a 10% (or 5%, the jury is still out on that) cut.

In other words, I think someone like spy100 making the decisions on those bets is a risk even with a reputable escrow, and if spy100 isn't making the decisions (the escrow is) then what exactly is his role.
