I think the title of the thread is highly misleading- it should be about quick investments offered by several DeFi projects and not because of quick gains.

Cryptocurrencies are volatile and decentralized in nature. Meaning, its price on the market may change quickly depending upon several factors/circumstances. There are situations wherein a person acquires cryptocurrencies on a low price and they quickly sell it once the price goes above the initial price they acquired it. This falls on the category of 'quick gains' and it is relatively advantageous on him.

There are several Decentralized Finances (DeFi in short) that claims offer high returns in a short amount of time. I think that is where people should watch out for especially that tons of scammers are evolving also.

Its depend by our own strategy, take profit as soon as possible or hodl and trust the coin or token future and im agree with you we have to do deep reaserch with the project
Just take the defi hype or really take defi as main focus from the first time
coin that youre mention like DIA, COUMPOND still have good price until now

You have mentioned a decent defi project, there is a rapid increase of DeFi projects now this is what I have witness last 2017 on ICO's it is happening now again with defi but scammers and fraud always exists they are grabbing this opportunity for a quick buck and create many fake projects and then if they reach their quota they run away and many people still falls on their trick. I advised to dig more deeper and verify partnership if genuine and look for projects that really have the potential and useful.

I really like the picks from OP, I recently added DIA and CURVE on my portfolio. Bought them on OKEX and will hold mid to long term, depending on the development progress. Often the defi project is a financing project with many defi projects spreading the hype the fastest. All of Dafi projects on OP list have made a comeback in the crypto market very easily and in a very short time and have quickly reached the top. DIA was good as a new defi project this year and I want to say hype. However i have researched some more defi project who will enter the exchange market very soon so the time to get profit can be considered as defi.

Be informed that every Defi project are just finance offering project but 98% of them are hype and it will be up two years before we can actually know the project that have good utility among them. However, this is the danger some investors dont understand before put in their in Defi while some only invest in coin currently making waves in the market.

Who would wait for two years just to see which DeFi projects is actually real or which one will end up failing? I invested in DeFi projects to make money and that's all, I don't tend to hold for longer, just to ride along with the DeFi hype and make some money

So no matter what kind of advise you give them, easy $$$ in Defi will be in the eyes of crypto investors and as much as we don't like them to experience to lose money, well it has to happen before they learn their experience.

Most investors use new ICO projects - IEOs only in order to buy a new token with a big discount and immediately sell it at the ICO price when it appears on the exchange. Therefore, all these advice and calls will be left without proper attention. Such a human essence and we cannot change it.

I think I will stand on different sides, in the crypto space, it pays to be less greedy atimes, that is, there are projects one should invest in just for quick gains, that's the simple truth because a whole lot of projects out there have nothing to offer than the usual hype which of course leads to pump and dump, to an extent one can also say this about Defi projects. Some Defi projects are good quite alright, but can same be said about others? I don't think so, when taking into account the number of them (Defi projects) springing up everyday. Also, some invest in even good Defi projects, watch it closely, sell at a good price then buy back later on to hold; in this way they have gotten their quick gains.
So from whatever angle we look at it, at different point in time, people first satisfies themselves with initial pump of the project before buying again and holding because of the trust they had on the project, this is applicable to all projects in the crypto space. In addition, most times they might sell and it pumps even more and most times they might sell and it drops further, it's funny but that's the nature of the crypto space. However, the lesson to learn is, hold your potential coins because of what lies ahead.

Altcoins are not really good for the long term, I invested a lot of altcoins in 2018 but they did not yield too many good results. The price has dropped several times and now those projects are completely dead and there aren't any updates. If you want to be safe in the long term, you should invest in Bitcoin and ETH

Unfortunately this is the truth, most people get blinded by the possibility of fast profits and as such when they see that a particular kind of coin is going up in value really fast they try to join the party as well because they don't want to left behind, they see that instead of having to wait a few years to get decent profits they could do so in months or even weeks and most investors do not really care about this market, they only care about the profits they can get and they think they cannot let this opportunity to pass, unfortunately we know how that story ends and it ends with people being scammed and then complaining in the forum about it.

The majority of people come to the crypto market because of the profits it brings, so it is easy for them to get caught up in FOMO or be scammed by lies.
Defi projects are appearing more than necessary and there will certainly be many defi projects that fail, I think defi projects will be like IEOs in the past.

The more noise around the project, the more often the excitement is generated from all sides and aggressive advertising is going on, the more circumspect and careful one should be so as not to fall for the bait of scammers. You are absolutely right, Defi is like ICOs in 2017. There are many successful and profitable projects for investors, but also a lot of projects that are scams and causing investors to lose money. So you need to be really careful when choosing this investment
