Can Satoshi Stop bitcoin?

Satoshi Nakamoto can actually burn Bitcoin to drive up its price. This may involve sending them to an unspendable address. If he does that, there would be a bullish reaction in the market. He could then sell them at a profit. This would destabilize the market. Remember, very little is known about Satoshi Nakamoto.

I think he doesn't need to actually send it in an "unspendable address", as long as he is not moving that bitcoin he has, less btcs in the circulation would give positive changes to the market. And I don't think that actually stop bitcoin, that would create more opportunities when bitcoin drops, that is for sure since there are a lot of people actually waiting for it to dump so low.

Firstly I don't think that a really powerful cryptocurrency can be stopped easily. Also, there is no reason for Satoshi to stop Bitcoin if he/she has the power to stop, of course. Bitcoin has been hugely improved since it was first launched in 2009. I think there is no person or government that can end Bitcoin for good.

What is the point of stopping this idea if it brings benefits to the majority of the citizens of the planet Earth. It may not benefit just a few people, having their influence over a wider circle, and then the number will not matter at all. In most cases, this is what happens if you analyze the number of whales (wallets and large amounts) relative to past years - the decentralization is very obvious.

In the past there used to be bitcoin keys to stop the full network or to send a message to all nodes, if i'm not wrong those keys stop working and only a few users have access to those keys, one of them was satoshi and another one was the owner of this forum A.K.A. Theymos.

I don't remember the full story but is relevant for the topic, in some point satoshi was holding the power to stop it.

I don't think he can or will he ever do it if he can and in the first place, if the  community know or discovered  that Bitcoin can be destroy, people will stop investing and support Bitcoin, they perceived Bitcoin an ideal decentralized Cryptocurrency, there's some imperfection but never to the point that it can be destroyed it strength lies on it being open sourced and no one can fully control it.

Not many different  miners producing blocks at these prices these days. And these are too big to hide

The only way for those few big ones is to be max compliant by any means not to get into focus of 'long arms'.

The name(Satoshi) doesn't signify a single person but Satoshi is a general name for the group. Satoshi won't like to destroy what has been done because they have liberated the common man from government enslavement. He can with 51% attack, so stop saying he can't, though this will be a tough decision as it will cost huge funds to be executed.

We can't rely on Satoshi staying sane for an unlimited amount of time. Fortunately, he created something so powerful that even he himself is unable to destroy.

So, imo, the answer to OP's question is NO, Satoshi(let alone anyone else!) can't stop Bitcoin.

Some old billionaires, big banks and governments should stop trying. It's an unkillable technology of the future, you either embrace it or limp forward without it, but you can't destroy it.

I believe that Bitcoin is unstoppable now and Satoshi couldn't stop it anymore. And I agree with the one statement below that Satoshi was fully aware and in his full will that his Bitcoin creation/Blockchain industry will be more trending and popular in the world market as the days, months, and years goes by..and He can never stop it. His creation was designed to grow fast and gives jobs, earning, investment and easiest ways of fund management to people and will continues till the next generations. It seems like nothing can stop Bitcoin, including the man who created Satoshi Nakamoto, who I think is a great and extraordinary human.
It's simple, if Bitcoin can be stopped, those who invest or investors will not waste money buying bitcoin because there will be worries if it is stopped suddenly, and I think those involved in bitcoin are great people who think smart, because they know the best places to double the money.

What great with Bitcoin is it being decentralized.  Mostly all noded are set up voluntarily because of the interest on Bitcoin.  Even with Satoshi appearing and telling people to stop mining or setting up node, I believe the Bitcoin ecosystem is huge enough and performing well enough that most of this supporter can ignore what Satoshi wanted them to do.  So I think Satoshi have no power to stop Bitcoin because most of the supporter are doing it according to their own accord and not because Satoshi told them or hire them to do it.

Even though Satoshi is the one who created the bitcoin, I don't think that he can stop it because there are already many changes happened after he created it, no one can stop it, and for sure it would require big finances, great tram and knowledge to do it. Well, I dont think that Satoshi Nakamoto wouldnt think about stopping bicoin because there are many people who are using and get benefits from it. Why would he choose to delete it if he knows how good it is to many people.

the right answer, take it that he found it, but now many have held it and made an investment and there is no way he can intervene belonging to someone other than he is willing to pay for it. I also don't think he has tried but he also wants to write off it seems irrelevant.
