I'm looking to find out how it works

How I do it is,

I keep a metamask wallet extension on my browser, send the tokens to that wallet with some ethereum for gas. There are of course other wallet options listed on their front page.

Now I open the uniswap page and load the token on the interface and select the output token/ethereum.
After this it is pretty self-explainatory, accept everything being shown on metamask and wait for the transaction to be sent. Check the wallet address on etherscan to confirm that exchange was done and thats it.

There might be some guides/youtube videos for this simple thing, so check them before you proceed. Be careful of phishing sites though.

Yes, you can.
I will tell you what I have advised some people.
1) If you want to choose Defi check if the project smart contract is audited
2) listed on a good liquidity exchange site either which could help the token surge in price.
3) Register an account on Capital market select the token as your watchlist so that Cmc will send you some new update about the token and also join their telegram or other social media account so you wont miss new update cause Defi projects have good opportunity and risk either.
I also bought YFI when it was $13K and sold 75% when it $35K in case a situation happens.

Defi being listed on Uniswap or Binance doesn't mean it genuine, dont you notice that 97% of all Defi project dont provide information about their team? Even Cz Binance advised investors not to invest in Defi because it was listed on Binance due to the pitfall involved.

uniswap usage is very easy it is decentralized crytpo exchange. If you know how to use matamask then you can use uniswap too because it needs metamask to connect you wallet if you want to buy any token from uniswap you should connect eth wallet 1st then you can trade with some gas fee. Always use correct url never apply suspicious link otherwise you could lose your funds.

Other than metamask you can use your Imtoken or Trust Wallet in your mobile app I use those two when using Uniswap just a few clicks and you're good to go but make sure you're connecting to the right site to avoid being scammed.

If you're joining because some twitter account or telegram group says that it has guaranteed 2x-1000x be careful because it's manipulated and it's not guaranteed, Uniswap have full of shitcoin and Defi hypecoins but I know several people who gained profit through that app it's your choice, but also consider the unreasonable gas fee when trading in Uniswap.

You can look at the experience that was said above. It's like the partner of defis for you to exchange it but as said, it's not all of them are defi tokens.
Some altcoins can also be found on them. My preference is also with the traditional exchange that I used, I have never used any Uniswap so far.

For me the simplest is you can either use Trust Wallet or Imtoken and you can connect your wallet through the Dapps using your phone, or Metamask using Desktop computer, and always check if the token you want is listed there, but you must remember the high fees that is involved.

Yes I do understand uniswap but I never swapped any token because of ethereum gas fee I have used uniswap many times and my overall experience is very good uniswap is very easy to use you can connect it with your trust wallet or metamask but unfortunately nowadays ethereum gas fee is too high but if you know any project which you think has bright future then you can use it now

I am not sure about it though. Maybe you can do some searching from your side to check the same. It is better to always check these things before spending any money buying it because this is crypto and anything can be a shady deal.

Sushiswap is another site like Uniswap. You have to use it to get a feel of difference if any. I have only heard of the names and seen the site once, never used them because I dont need to.

I am not really a fan of DeFi, I think it is the next bubble happening now but that bother me since DeFi has been here since years but it is hyped currently. Still that is my personal opinion.

As you said it has got high commission, but it functions with legitimacy. Particularly for people who find it hard to change their holdings through the trading process can make use of it with ease. The chance of fake contracts is very low, because before adding a single token to the list its been cross checked for legitimacy. You need to be careful handling the commission, apart from that there is no big caution need to be taken.

What the hell are you talking about? The fees for transaction is only 0.3%/per trade. The ethereum gas fees are not to be considered here because that is a part of the blockchain that you are using. That is different from Uniswap, that fee is not even for running Uniswap but to run the Ethereum blockchain.

2. Lots of fake contracts where you can lose your funds.

If you are careless you will fall into those. But when money is on the line you should make a list of the tokens that you have and contract addresses, so you dont make a mistake there. Again a problem from your end not the site's end.

3. Lots of bots

Bots only take part in trading. They dont influence the functionality of the site. They may move the market, but that will happen with any other exchange. Not something that the site can change or has control over.

You need to trade with extreme caution.

You need to learn some things better if you wish to trade with ease.

Exactly mate as the exchange must be reliable and basing their acceptance depend on the quality of coins and the team and not just because they can pay the listing fee because scammers can have fund for this to looks like legit.
and in the end the effect is in exchange by listing BS projects.
We must learn to qualify our investments depends on their long time purpose and not just because Defi is now trending(anyway they are not and starting to fall now)

In Uniswap, the bigger the amount of ETH your trade the bigger the transaction fee.  Anonymity is an added feature. As for my belief in Uniswap, I will say that at the moment I have only tried the possibility of exchanging tokens once. I can’t say that I liked it, as I was faced with the fact that I had to wait for the confirmation of transactions for some time, while I paid the commission twice. It is clear that this is a feature of Uniswap's work and the load on the ETH network complicates the process, but nevertheless, the whole process is faster on centralized exchanges. Perhaps with the release of ETH 2.0, something will change for the better, but for now I don't really like using Uniswap, unless it is absolutely necessary.

That's the disadvantage of the dex and swap service. These kind of services relying on the blockchain. Any transactions that already done through those service will always be broadcasted to the network.
When you are using CEX and it will only show your balance and you can do something with your balance without feel worried to get a big fees for any txs.
This is the different between cex and dex.

Moondefi is not yet even traded on the uniswap and it's too early to say that moondefi has become a competitor for uniswap. Sushi swap is the real competitor for uniswap but it has been leaving by its users due to the some reasons.
It looks like uniswap is still holding ethereum as its basis. Uniswap is dominating the ethereum chain right now. It's very difficult for a new defi to replace it.
The only potential defi to compete with uniswap just like YFI or compound even both were not swap service.

I don't think that many would like to jump to another exchange the same as Uniswap. There's more liquidity on that exchange and most traders who rely on it won't have time to transfer and use an exchange that is still on development and getting more liquidity.

Uniswap is more than enough for them all to trade, If they are jumping from the uniswap to the another similar service and that will be only putting their money into the big risk. it's not all of swap service can be trusted consider they will rely on the code that has been putting on the swap service.
I have seen people got scammed in another swap service. That should be enough to give them all a lot of lesson never try to use crap swap service if there's a legit one.

What i do understand in Uniswap is that this being used for Shitcoins to be converted into ethereum(well thats what i understand from my friends who uses this one) .

But other than that since i am not using this i believe the Hype will end soon as what we are seeing now,the Swapping seems to be lowering and people are going back to their old fashion ways of trading.
