For all Brave users out there, together with Phishfort, they have roll out has included a open source solution to help prevent phishing attempts.

Brave browser is not the browser to use. It is worse than Chrome and Chrome is from Google so I don't use it. There are many bad things on Brave browser and they broke their slogan and their reputation. People use it because of they give away BAT to their users but users have to do KYC to get BAT. Not good.

Firefox or Tor Browser. With Tor browser, click on "New Identity" each time you visit a site.

To be truthful, I am using brave. Although I have all its rewards and normal ads all disabled, I have used many browsers that can disable ads but brave has been the most perfect for me. It does not consume data like Chrome, Edge, Firefox and many other browsers I have been using. This makes me stick to it. But, I do noticed people commeting the broswer is not perfect enough, does it have any security vulnerability? Or can we have little more of comments why brave browser is not actually good.

Although, about the issue of kyc, I can never do any kyc. But, it is not a must that someone have to collect the BAT reward which makes no kyc needed for anything.

I hate ads so much because many of them can actually be from hackers attempting to use it for phishing attack, even to an extent some having no secure connection and directing someone to malware sites, but I used brave to block this effectively.

I am not implying the browser to be good but what makes it bad if truly bad?

If you really hate ads, especially that coming from scammers, you  probably need to consider switching to another browser, e. g. Firefox.

Brave doesn't block google ads:

https://community.brave.com/t/does-not-block-google-ads/103131

Brave doesn't block promoted tweets:

https://community.brave.com/t/twitter-promoted-tweets-not-blocked/90413

Brave is scamming people:

[SCAM]Archive.is has stopped supporting Brave Browser

Facebook, Twitter Trackers Whitelisted by Brave Browser

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/facebook-twitter-trackers-whitelisted-by-brave-browser/

Brave is not "consuming" your data. Brave is selling your data to big corporations.

Brave:

I have been using Brave, Chrome, and Firefox for more than a year now and in my opinion, Firefox is far better than the two. It is not only fast as compared to both but it also consumes less RAM when loaded for the first time. I am not sure why people are so crazy about Brave rewards considering the amount of BAT it pays every month is just peanuts.

Just asking.. how big pish forts scam list have? I bet their main scam list are taken from google.
Brave should "fix" their privacy system first, then they can talk about scam sites. Uninstall brave in my pc since 6 months ago. Using firefox is more comfortable and way more privacy rather than brave.

BAT it pays every month is just peanuts.
This is exactly the reason why I stopped using brave browser, its quietly disguising and don't think a user can get significant amount from this after performing a time consuming KYC.
<...>
Thanks a lot switcher_sense for letting us know why brave browser is such a fraudulent one performing malicious acts in the past. I have always been careful when choosing browsers and I have puffin browser installed in my phone device which sometime I normally used it, I'm i on a safe side for using such browser? had any one found some faulty news about puffin browser?please let me know.

I am not a fan of Brave and have never used it and advice everyone to stay away from it especially after their latest scandal.
However, I read their tweet and FishFort's announcement and want to know if only the wallet users will benefit from this protection or all users of the browser?
Also, since PhisFort have a paying service, am not sure how reliable their open-source solution is!

I don't know where you get the notion that Brave disables ads. You are totally wrong. As a matter of fact, after they got acquired by binance. Money ruined everything. They are one of the worst. I used to be a fan of the browser but not anymore.

Name a browser that is so desperate that they even display ads on the homepage like Brave browser, i will wait.

Firefox on the other hand is so good. Just download the Ublock Origin addon and you won't see a single ad in the search results

It does not consume data like Chrome, Edge, Firefox and many other browsers I have been using. This makes me stick to it. But, I do noticed people commeting the broswer is not perfect enough, does it have any security vulnerability? Or can we have little more of comments why brave browser is not actually good.
If you want to save data consumption on the web pages you visit then there is no good choice like Opera. They also have an inbuilt ad blocker and VPN

Indeed. Back then Brave was better than Chrome before they have ads on their newtab page from Binance and crypto.com. I am using it for months not for the rewards but for its speed that defeats Chrome and even all of the Browsers. Now, it is as worse or I guess a much worse browser than Chrome. I'd rather use Firefox or Edge for their speed and built-in ad blocking.

Though Phishfort is good and promising to be a better system, I guess it is not a good thing that they've partnered with a slowly turning RAM eating Brave Browser.

More than 9k and growing, according to their list here:

https://github.com/phishfort/phishfort-lists/blob/master/blacklists/domains.json

So it's huge already, but it's not enough though relying to this so called list, we still need to be very careful and not to trust any crypto related websites.

I honestly don't get why Brave is introducing many opt-in additions like this. I mean, sure they can help with phishing but add-ons and common sense are already available. What's the chance of another data related backdoor with the integration?

Most complain are about many controversial features (BAT reward, exchange feature, ads on new-tab page, etc.) are "opt-in" rather than "opt-out" by default.
And if you bother disable it manually, you better use Firefox which have more options/capability.
I mean those things should be disabled by default, especially if you are claiming to be "secure, private" browser.

More  thrilling  for me is "private window with TOR" added to Brave. I tried to find info whether that TOR packets are obfuscated or not but failed in this. So I obfuscate them by wrapping into VPN XOR.  Anyway would like to have some extra details on Brave's TOR. Any info is more than welcomed.
It makes no sense to use private tabs with TOR, because Brave's version of TOR doesn't and probably cannot provide the same security as standard TOR browser. Following drawbacks should be taken into account before you decide to use Brave TOR. First of all, as far as I know, TOR tabs are not available in mobile version meaning you can't use this browser to hide your IP, what's the point then to use it on mobile? Brave doesn't block certain ads (whiltelist is HARD CODED, just think about it, it is ridiculous) and can't hide your IP - it is disaster for you privacy and security. Don't use it as default mobile browser. Okay, what about desktop version? As we all know TOR browser does a good job at preventing user identification through browser fingerprint, in TOR system all users have identical fingerprints. With Brave TOR you are less anonymous, because every user in that system will have unique browser fingerprint, meaning you are not anonymous whatsoever. Again, what the point of using Brave TOR if it doesn't guarantee the same level of privacy and security as TOR browser?

Although this could be a (weak) step to clear his name, Brave developer did plenty of crappy things lately so I advise everybody use (almost) any other browser (if it helps, I use FFox now).
He'll have to go through a long path of "good deeds" if he wants to "clear his name", I almost give Chrome a better chance.
